Will Harry and Meghan come to Coronation?

I do not think they will. They will stay away but all anyone will talk about is why they did not come and should they have come.

The whole charade will be completely sanitised for the world audience. The RF need us to see how wonderful they are and it is important to ensure that the nodding serfs with their flags and tea towels and steel bladders are fully portrayed in all their loyal rapture.

A Trade Agreement with the US is needed too, so what with the Windsor Framework and an American married to a Prince, well they wouldn't want that image to go wrong would they?

There will be hundreds of Portaloos along the Mall - I know I went to visit during the Queen's death to see all the flowers, crowds etc. It's quite the media circus, with the real diehards getting there days before to bag the best spot and get interviewed by the world. I did heckle Priti Patel briefly when she visited (really) much to the embarrassment of my partner, but I just can't shut my mouth....

I might organise an Off With Their Heads party on the day.

🤣🤣 have you sent out your save the date yet, otherwise people might be double booked with screen free weekends away?

AnnieGetYourWaterPistol · 10/03/2023 21:27

True! Maybe I will just book a weekend away instead.

Yes Harry is on record before he met Meghan saying he doesn't like England.

Shhhhhh - we are not supposed to say that. Come on ..... the story of Meghan dragging him away with Archie sits better.

AliceOlive · 10/03/2023 21:18

@Serenster mentioned the photo taken during a time everyone agreed to no photos, then tweeted out by Scobie, then taken down.
I had not heard about that - but wasn't really reading any of the H&M stuff during that time.

Is it this one?

That’s the one, yes.

AliceOlive · 10/03/2023 22:45

It’s crass.

sydneysunset · 12/03/2023 07:34

The Telegraph is reporting that the Sussex children will not be invited to the coronation (rightly so, in my opinion, they are far too young).

AliceOlive · 13/03/2023 00:22

The media are just trying to create drama with the way that have reported this. Of course children that small won’t attend. More pressure on an already fractured family just to get clicks.

This is where I wish everyone would band together and support one another.

Zuve · 09/04/2023 19:54

Harry will come and she will make an excuse

skullbabe · 09/04/2023 21:01

Arranging for a photo of the Sussexes to be taken at the moment when the Queen’s coffin was received at Buckingham Palace, and having their spokesman publish it, then swiftly take it down when other reporters pointed out there had been an agreement to take no pictures of the moment.

I’ve had a look at the photographer’s (Jeremy Selwyn) Getty portfolio. He mostly photographs the Royal family with a smattering of political figures. He was mostly under the employ of the Evening Standard (where he had a broader portfolio) and left early 2022 which would explain why it would be a coup for him to get the shot as an independent of the first time H&M and Charles were seen together. (The Evening Standard devote pages and pages to H&M - primarily negative).

I see no link between the photographer and H&M nor between the photographer and Omid Sobie. It was absolutely wrong of Omid to tweet - equally for the photographer to take and distribute the shot. (It is still there by the way for sale).

purpledalmation · 10/04/2023 16:47

The pair are so rude, to leave it this late.

ShamedBySiri · 10/04/2023 17:59

The Sun is reporting that Harry has polo fixtures on the 5th & 7th May either side of the Coronation. (Yes, I know, the Sun ). The Polo club presumably wouldn't comment but are said to have stated they don't know if he's playing or not, but if he isn't they can find a replacement.

It's ridiculous. They will have made a decision a long time ago and are just enjoying playing games and tormenting Charles.

The Coronation procession is timed to the minute if not the second, especially with a shorter route so adding another vehicle will mess up the timings. Or else someone will have to shuffle up in whatever vehicle they are in to accommodate H&M squeezed in next to them which is probably a highly unwelcome prospect for most of the Royals.

The Polo club presumably give Harry mates rates on use of horses etc and will be counting on a "star" player. A stand in might have other plans for those days if not expecting to play.

Everyone has to prepare to change plans at the last minute to fit in with this rude pair.

Charles really should show who's boss and act like a King and just tell them it's too late now so they are not expected.

googlejourney · 10/04/2023 18:45

The best possible outcome would be:

They do not attend, enjoy the weekend at home playing polo and celebrating Archie's birthday.

They issue a heartfelt statement wishing King Charles and Queen Camilla warm wishes and much love and congratulations on the momentous day.

They join Charles in the summer for a family holiday behind closed doors, where the Sussex grandchildren can get to know their grandfather, and possibly even their cousins under no pressure or scrutiny.

WinnieTheW0rm · 10/04/2023 19:58

There really wouldn't be a problem in finding a substitute polo player - it happens all the time (injury etc) so I think that's a bit of a non-issue.

I doubt very much they'd be in the parade - no announcement made yet of who'll be in it other than KC&QC, but I'd be quite surprised if they had more than the core working Royals (bit like the balcony). But even if they did, leaving BP a couple of minutes earlier and returning a few minutes later isn't going to be a big deal.

And if they didn't, then it's just another limo to the Abbey. I'm sure the planners can work with those scenarios.

And just because the Sussexes haven't made their decision public doesn't mean that they haven't informed the Palace. They waited until the Sussexes made their wishes known about whether their DC would use their royal styles (because that's a decision for the parents, like it was for the then Wessexes) and my money's on them doing the same about this.

🤣🤣 I really can't believe grown adults are writing this and think that the RF do not have an answer because it is not on SM.

I am sure when the list of rsvps is published you will read it in the DF until then hold tight.

The only tormenting going on is on MN and is self inflicted.

I doubt Charles is getting too worked up!

CathyorClaire · 10/04/2023 20:35

I read that the lackeys have been instructed to plan for an additional date on the worldwide privacy tour but in any case I don't suppose the subtraction of a Roller will impinge too much on the timing.

It really won’t be making a big difference to plans. The Coronation procession will have plans A, B, C, D right down to F.

Look at how smoothly Andrew’s absence due to covid for the Queens jubilee service made no difference.

They’ll have contingencies for all of the royals being missing. Especially when you consider that a chunk of the working royals, who are going to be front and centre it seems, are all in their 70s and 80s and that covid is still a thing.

Rhondaa · 11/04/2023 09:55

I'm really torn about the whole Coronation saga. I don't mind having a Monarch as head of state so much but I loathe the idea of a gold carriage, jewels, crowns etc. It all seems so inappropriate. Just wear suits have a half hour Coronation with a bit of a military show, band etc.

Regarding Harry I hope if he does show up he is just ignored. Any boo'ing will feed his victim narrative. Just treat him like the minor royal he is. Yes he is the King's son but so what really, he's made his position very clear on his disdain for his family.

WinnieTheW0rm · 11/04/2023 10:51

I think it's good that they wheel out the carriages from time to time, especially for widely televised events, so that people can see them in action (rather than having to travel to London to see them static in a museum)

Mumsnut · 12/04/2023 11:38

Plan for them coming, and if they don’t, grab two OAPs off the Mall on the day to take their seats

EdieLedwell · 12/04/2023 15:10

Harry will attend alone.

Just seen it on the news. Pity but at least we won't have a circus

Wheresthebeach · 12/04/2023 15:27

It will definitely reduce the drama. I guess it would be very sad for Charles if one of his sons wasn’t there. I was never sure if the fuss around Balmoral and the Queen dying was Harry kicking off, Meighan kicking off..or them both. Without his wife and children attending he’ll have less to complain about and less cause to creat drama. Less drama from the press trying to get pictures as well.

What a problem for everyone, this is going to be
