Not bonkers at all. I have an affection for Sailor Bill. The monarchy nearly crashed completely after the horrible George IV wish it had but William took over and got on with attempting to father an heir despite his existing ten beloved children, and the focus switched from the monarchy to politics, with a few minor things like the abolition of slavery. He was no angel to his partner Mrs Jordan in the end but compared to the rest of them he wasn't so terrible, and he was happily married to Adelaide for a long time.

Oops, got him mixed up with his dad hence the comment. Your fave spanned the period of the French Revolution - that must have given him the fear ! Why no Boudica fans here - the original warrior Queen.
