Anne Boleyn

the Queen mothers a complete cow.

Anne Boleyn too. But also serious respect for Katherine of Aragon.

I love that beautiful painting of her

Katherine of Aragon!

I find it interesting that most of the answers (so far) are Women.

I am most interested in the court of Henry VIII but I am branching out.

If the current RF would spend less time with drama I would have more time to read. 🤣🤣

Margaret

Anne, followed closely by Kate, for quite different reasons. Anne because she seems straightforward and not jumped up (unlike Andrew). Kate because she comes from a family with working class origins on her mum’s side, has never put a foot wrong, and seems a sweet and caring mum.

I mean, who knows, but based on appearances.

The queen mother was nice

She was not

She was not

She did make me laugh with all the speculation about if she kept a bottle of gin in her handbag and her smiling and waving

You're right! I don't think the men were particularly interesting, except for Henry VIII of course, but not exactly a nice man. They seemed to be of two extremes either tyrants or quite passive and thick (from my little knowledge)

Dawn French made me laugh in an interview years ago (Graham Norton perhaps? Can't remember). She met the Queen Mother when she was a young girl. Said the QM had yellow crooked teeth and it frightened her. "I thought she was a witch!" 😂

MarshaMelrose · 04/03/2023 04:38

I quite like Henry I. And Anne of Cleves - although she married in so maybe doesn't count. And Edward VII. Shame he dudnt get longer. I think he'd gave been brilliant.
I don't like John. Or Henry III. Or James I. And I hate Prince Albert. He was a controlling, abusive arse, although he did have very good ideas.
I really like the Duke and Duchess of Kent. And I love the Duke of Gloucester. And Anne. Of course.
But I really, really loved the Queen. I miss her. 😢

Cate0101 · 04/03/2023 04:45

King Arthur

Daffodilsandbeer · 04/03/2023 05:08

No particular fave but quite liked Philip.

I find harry and Meghan the best value for money. The stunts that pair pull have the world agog and everyone talking about them. 😂

Although weirdly the longer their bizzare behaviour goes on, the less I see them as royal, as that’s how they make their money, attacking the actual British royals and selling stories on them.

StClare101 · 04/03/2023 05:14

Anne.

QE’s soft treatment of Andrew really put me off.

Sophie also seems ok.

How do people know that the QueenMother was a witch?

NastyNiff · 04/03/2023 05:19

My family of origin were always Anne fans... and we were not Royalists.

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 04/03/2023 05:24

Elizabeth 1 seemed pretty badass.

Anne seems similar.

Sophie seems kind and was sweet to HMQ in her later years by all accounts.

I like Meghan for showing Harry how bloody ridiculous is all is.

Surprised no-one has mentioned Zara or Eugenie yet.

They seem pretty bla compared to the others mentioned. What have they done to be considered a favourite?

I don't know of anything in particular, they just seem more down to earth and like regular (non-royal) people to me.
