None of them now that the queen has died

Anne, Camilla. Catherine, William

Katherine Parr

Anne of Cleves wangled herself a pretty good deal, I think, I’m the end. And wasn’t Eleanor of Aquitaine pretty impressive?

CheeseCakeSunflowers · 04/03/2023 11:42

Elizabeth of York, she married the enemy Henry VII which finally settled the War of the Roses as their offspring then descended from both sides. Women were political pawns back then, looking back with 21st century eyes I admire most of the historical Royal wives who had to do their duty and put up with whatever came their way.

Princess Margaret's day

Who is your favorite member of the Royal Family of all time?
SusanSHelit · 04/03/2023 11:52

King Knut, purely because I quite like the alliteration. I'm not particularly a fan of any of them.

Elizabeth I seemed to have her (his?) head screwed on though.

Freddie.

As a royal - the late Queen. She was class (but I wouldn't have wanted her a mother - I think her job as Queen always came first).

As someone to have lunch with - probably Sophie or Zara - they both seem down to Earth and quite fun.

Monzeitia · 04/03/2023 12:07

Catherine of Aragon, she was a very smart woman just like her mother the legend Isabella I of Castile
Anne, Sophie, Charlotte and Catherine

Almahart · 04/03/2023 12:08

Anne

I vary between being pretty indifferent and having a low opinion of nearly all of them. If I had to choose of current or recent members, probably Camilla. She seems to calmly get on with things, ignores the negativity, and drinks a lot of gin.

Otherwise, from an interest perspective rather than liking or admiring, probably Henry VIII.

electricmoccasins · 04/03/2023 12:30

Elizabeth I and her great grandmother, Elizabeth Woodville.

Icantbelieveitsnot · 04/03/2023 12:33

Lady Jane Grey. Closely followed by Anne Boleyn.
If I had to pick one of today's lot I would probably pick Prince Harry or Sarah Chatto.

ladygindiva · 04/03/2023 12:37

Prince Louis after his jubilee shenanigans. Love him!

Yirk · 04/03/2023 12:40

Our late queen , second place princess anne

Hbh17 · 04/03/2023 12:53

Oh yes, Anne of Cleves... "the king's sister"
Frederick, Prince of Wales.... an intriguing lost king
Richard III...... his whole story is fascinating
Prince William of Gloucester...... so good looking!

In modern times, of course QEII
The Kents & Gloucesters, because they just get on with the job without making a fuss
Anne, for all the obvious reasons
Camilla, because she has had to put up with a lot of nonsense and gas just knuckled down and got on with things - seems great fun, tho, and I'd love to go for a drink with her

purpledalmation · 04/03/2023 13:01

Catherine Parr was a feminist.

Modern day: Anne.

DevantMaJardin · 04/03/2023 13:24

Elizabeth I seemed to have her (his?) head screwed on though.

I remember in year 7 (90s) during a history lesson one girl called him King Cunt by accident. That was an interesting lesson. Most of us learned a new word that day.

I would choose Anne or Margaret.
