What do you think?

I'm not surprised. I wonder if Harry and Meghan will buy a new UK residence.

Why are H&M bothered by this?

They never intended to live in the UK again.
They've bought a bigger house in the US where they now live. Why do they want a 5 bedroom house in a country they don't intend to live in?

How is it cruel to stop renting a house to people who already live in a better house? Misusue of the term cruel!

They could use this as an opportunity to be magnanimous which would help them. They could state: we have lovely memories of our days at frogmore with baby Archie but our family is now US based so we understand the house should now be used and enjoyed by other families and we'll always remember it and Windsor fondly and hope to visit the area whenever we're back in the UK.

But instead they're playing the eternal victims again and asking for sympathy because they now only have one house.
Utterly deluded.

H&M have confirmed they were evicted.

But they probably don't have lovely memories...

we understand the house should now be used and enjoyed by other families

Like Andrew?? I'd be pissed if all my renovations and work go to a pedo to take advantage of.

But instead they're playing the eternal victims again and asking for sympathy because they now only have one house.

Where?

LadyVictoriaSponge · 01/03/2023 19:19

Good on Charles if he has ‘evicted’ them, at last he shown a bit of backbone.

MarshaMelrose · 01/03/2023 19:21

Maybe Charles thought Harry's bedroom was too big for him?

tatalan · 01/03/2023 19:21

I'm so glad this is confirmed now. No expectations of an appearance at the coronation 😄

Hopefully they arrange the loveliest birthday for Archie in the States.

H&M have confirmed they were evicted.

“Evicted” is an emotive way to put it. If there have been negotiations and they have been “requested to vacate”, on the not unreasonable grounds that they never use the place and their lease is up for renewal, it’s not really the same as being evicted is it?

GrinAndVomit · 01/03/2023 19:23

Can you be evicted from a house you’ve only spent 2 weeks in over the last 4 years?
(slight exaggeration but not much!)

Indeed.

Yellowdays · 01/03/2023 19:29

Yes but they had been actually given it. How can a gift be removed?

VixenTodd · 01/03/2023 19:30

I think we finally have the answer to the question of whether they will be attending the Coronation.

They were gifted use of it - not the property itself.

They can't be given it. It belongs to the Crown Estate and can't be given away. Same as the Crown jewels. Pieces can be lent out, sometimes for years, but they always have to be returned.

skullbabe · 01/03/2023 19:40

I’d be surprised if they don’t attend the coronation seeing as this notification happened a month ago and is not news to them.

skullbabe · 01/03/2023 19:41

They can use their time back to pack up before they need to have moved out in the summer.

BeatricePortinari · 01/03/2023 19:42

They've been asked to vacate a house they don't use because they now live in a bigger house.

The use of the word evict is to frame them as victims and does them no favours.

Oh ok, friend of a pedo then. Also a man who groped his daughter's arse in public. But I'm sure he's a lovely, lovely person.

The papers did, they didn't.

@adrianmolesmole - Andrew did what to his daughter's arse in public now?
Was it on the news? Has the daughter complained?

I find Andrew distasteful and really a unsavoury person but that speculation of that moment during a him grieving him mother and comforting his daughter on the loss of her grandmother is and was uncalled for.

I don't think he's a lovely person. He's an arrogant arse but throwing out terms like 'pedo' just isn't on. I don't know why it's allowed on here.
Also you've implied that he has incestuous feelings for his daughter.
I'm sure there are many on here cheering you on but I would like to stick to the facts.

Is that what they're referring to? Ugh. PA might have many faults but no one can dispute how much is he loved by his daughters and his ex-wife. Somewhere along the line he did something right. Trying to manufacture that he abused his daughter because they don't like him is disgusting.

Roussette · 01/03/2023 19:56

So many find it unacceptable even if you don't.

I’m sure they do. However, unless I’m much mistaken, they don’t create the constitutional conventions, so what they think it’s terribly relevant.

Tell that to the Minister and MPs who have criticised it then.

He sure did, it was live on TV. There are many videos on youtube but here's one:

I don't think Eugenie's said anything but the royals don't, do they...
