What do you think?

I'm not surprised. I wonder if Harry and Meghan will buy a new UK residence.

Rumours are that Harry said he wouldn't be going to the Con-a-Nation (thanks pp !) and this is Charles' fightback and no doubt grasping Camilla is looking to snag a lodge or 2 for her offspring.

Exactly, they didn't own the house but paid for the renovation which the house was due for anyway. I'm sure more details will be forthcoming.

Yeah so why would they get any money back?!

If William and Kate are getting the lodge, how exactly will they explain them getting a fifth royal residence in a cost of living crisis? Or are we to expect an official note saying that the Prince and Princess of Wales are separating, but not divorcing? Making that William alone gets the lodge while Kate keeps Adelaide cottage - rumours abound about these 2.

Rumours abound but there will be no statement. Yes they will get I think it would be a sixth house and loads on here will rush to justify why they need so many mansions and houses.

You think this was a conspiracy by Camilla to get her children into the house?

AmandaJonah · 01/03/2023 15:49

Yes I am seeing rumours that Harry had told Charles he would not be attending the Coronation and did so privately unlike Charles communications to Harry.
And that this is Charles punishing Harry.
Charles always seems a very petty man.

If those two don't love each other they're better actors than Meghan!

All the RF care about is the longevity of the monarchy. They will do whatever, sacrifice whomever, to ensure the preservation of the monarchy in whatever form it can be preserved in. This drives absolutely everything.

”They” does not = this or that human currently sitting on the throne. It means the machinery: the mandarins, men in grey suits, fogeys who are nameless and faceless to the public, men (I’m sure) who pledge allegiance to the crown and tradition and Britishness above absolutely all else, and for whom the monarchy is an integral part of Britishness. These men may not actually like or respect the sitting monarch and his/her family (although I suspect QE2 was liked simply because she fulfilled her duty, such as it was, to her dying day). But that’s irrelevant. Charles and Camilla are humans who will be replaced, and we already know who by. How on earth can anyone respect either of them as heads of the royal family after tampongate 🙄. My postie has more integrity than those two. It’s laughable, but they’re actually going to be crowned - because, monarchy uber alles.

Nothing - NOTHING - the public is told about finances or politicking within the RF is true. It’s all smoke and mirrors. It’s all there so they can continue to be there.

Brightshinylight · 01/03/2023 15:53

ahh so that’s where Harry gets it from. All clear now! Harry, A man who does not appear to realise he has had a privileged upbringing, everything handed to him and spits out the dummy & throws the toys out the pram when he does not get his own way.

Who is to say we are all wildly speculating here based on rumour, gossip and gut instinct. But what we do have as source material is 'Spare' as much as some hate that salient point, and Camilla doesn't come out well with her alleged treatment of William, Harry and their spouses. Blood is thicker than water, and I wouldn't put it past her to lobby on her children's behalf and give them some Royal status and trophies. She is 'Queen' after all and seemingly without the consort. After a death can bring out all sorts of unseemly behaviour as squabbles break out over the assets. The Royal Family are probably no different from many others, if not worse.

I don't think Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes are are interested in being royal at all.

Them separating before he's crowned King would spell the end of the monarchy I think.

tatalan · 01/03/2023 15:56

I don't think anyone would begrudge Harry's absence at the coronation after this. Correct me if i'm wrong.

I guess we will see if this is true if one of Camilla's children does move into the house.

Well if that's true, I guess we'll soon see her children showered with royal properties and titles.

But the way that I see it is I’m willing to forgive you for everything you’ve done, and I wish you’d actually sit down with me, properly, and instead of saying I’m delusional and paranoid, actually sit down and have a proper conversation about this, because what I’d really like is some accountability. And an apology to my wife. Because you know what you did, and I now know why you did it. And you’ve been caught out, so just come clean, and then we could all move on.

I totally agree. They are very close as evidenced by their behaviour during recent engagements. I'm honestly sick of this speculation. Kate and William are happy together as are Harry and Meghan. Why do people want the break of two marriages which involve small children? Please stop.

Howsimplywonderful · 01/03/2023 16:07

@derxa

I know, those same ones lambasting anyone saying anything about H&M, scouring the depths of Twitter for tweets to be offended by and repeating them on here and then making cracks at W&K and their marriage.

AmandaJonah · 01/03/2023 16:08

@derxa I know you keep saying they are very close, but they never look it. Any interaction always looks awkward and even staged. And there have been various occasions where one has batted the other way.

Symbolism in evicting the alleged rapist from his huge mansion and moving him to a house which a previous occupant felt wasn’t grand enough for a royal? I really hope Andrew gets that message, too.

This is the first I’m hearing of Harry and Meghan being evicted. As ever, I get all my royal news from Mumsnet. It’s difficult to see how they’re being evicted though as they’re not exactly living there? It’s not as though they’re being made homeless…

But that’s an interesting spin on things… 🤔 It does seem quite small for Andrew seeing as he seems more accustomed to more grander surroundings.

They shouldn't get anything back. She gave it to them for a home - not for an empty building to be sat there for years.

I'm sure you know the RF own the largest amount of property in the UK and a good number of them aren't occupied.
