What do you think?

I'm not surprised. I wonder if Harry and Meghan will buy a new UK residence.

Cry me a river

Harry and Meghan EVICTED from Frogmore, keys handed to Prince Andrew

Diana was 12 when Anne married on 14 November 1973 (Prince Charles’ birthday). So no divorce announcement

Not that one!

Charles had announced his separation from Diana three days before Anne's wedding. That announcement is what attracted press attention

Separation announcement 9 Dec 1992
Princess Anne married Tim Lawrence 12 Dec 1992

ScribblingPixie · 01/03/2023 14:30

Charles' birthday is on November 14.

EdithWeston · 01/03/2023 14:31

There will still be time for Archie to celebrate his birthday

I think its a shame really. Had it not been for That Book, then they could have come over, been at the Coronation in the morning, their DC had their first balcony appearances (probably stealing the show) and then gone on to have some amazing birthday treat/party with all their cousins.

And a second US special unbirthday party

I'm still sure they will be invited, but I don't get a celebrational feeling about their attendance (I'd like to be proved wrong)

Howsimplywonderful · 01/03/2023 14:33

Harry was happy to head off to play polo on Archie’s birthday,

while Archie’s birthday is very important to his parents, I don’t think matters of state should be arranged around it

AmandaJonah · 01/03/2023 14:42

I have never know parents do nothing else on their child's birthday except celebrate their birthday.
Harry played a polo match near his home.

AmandaJonah · 01/03/2023 14:43

I think the timing was probably deliberate to put off Meghan attending. Charles only wants Harry to attend. I doubt he will come.

I would think that the deliberate wearing of what is an offensive and racist piece of jewellery is more than 'very poor taste'
Gets wearing to see blatant racism not being acknowledged for what it is.

Same with some trying to downplay Andrew's disgusting behaviour with comments such as ' he hasn't been convicted of anythng' or 'she was 17' like those comments are some kind of justification for what the sleazeball did.

AmandaJonah · 01/03/2023 15:03

@ColadhSamh Ah but they are very much not a racist family.
The brooch was in poor taste.
Philips racist jokes were eccentric wit.
Camilla's blackamoor statue in her house goes unmentioned.
William and Kate's picture of a slave boy in their reception room to receive guests is just art. And the fact a member of staff had to place a base in front of the slave boy when the Obama's were received is just quick thinking.
And William and Kates colonial tour was all their staff fault.

Oh and look away from all that evidence of racism - did you know Harry wore a Nazi uniform to a fancy dress party once?

It's very courageous and I am beyond humbled at anyone who does it! especially if they have red hair too!

I admit that red hair adds to the dramatic romanticism of that mental image, indeed yes 🤣🤣

PreparationPreparationPrep · 01/03/2023 15:11

I think its a shame really. Had it not been for That Book, then they could have come over,

It wouldn't have made a difference - There would have been a a different reasons why some people wouldn't want them to come going way back.

I hope they don't and at most it's just Harry but If Meghan does come I hope the children are not with them or in public at all. Because definitely her dress will be the wrong designer/ colour/ shape/ fit etc and the children well..... at least if it's just Harry the comments will be a stretch to oh doesn't he look miserable since he got with Meghan or doesn't he look happy now he here without Meghan.!

Blip · 01/03/2023 15:13

Everyone's a winner.
Meghan didn't like Frogmore or the UK so I don't think she will miss this house.

Before the book it was Oprah.

Before Oprah it was the way they deserted the institution.

Before the desertion, she broke too many protocols.

There will always be something.

Hate comes first and the reasons come later.

"Hate comes first and the reasons come later"

Presumably this refers to the book Spare and the Netflix series.

AmandaJonah · 01/03/2023 15:18

I agree, Meghan has been attacked since the very beginning and then later Harry was attacked as well.
I hope they save themselves the pain from their toxic family and stay away from the Coronation.

Yep. There were threads on here with unpleasant posts when they got engaged. And only a few weeks ago someone said... " I just couldn't take to her, she annoyed me from Day one and the engagement, she smiled too much and I knew she was trouble "

Hmmm.... well done that person, you fed into the 26 DM articles a day knocking her for no reason, apart from eating avocados, shutting car doors, and wearing a one sleeve dress.

DysonSpheres · 01/03/2023 15:21

They ought to be invited to the coronation and come.

I think people (The RF) need to make up their minds. Either cut them off altogether, or include them in all functions of importance, let them keep a secure visiting pad to crash in and everyone try hard to get along. After all I'm struggling to see what was so bad in Harry's memoir. I've already forgotten. Just a lot of whinging. Everyone needs to get over it.

This half hearted business is just newspaper fodder. And when does it stop?

PreparationPreparationPrep · 01/03/2023 15:23

she smiled too much and I knew she was trouble " 🤣

MumOf2workOptions · 01/03/2023 15:26

They live in America 🇺🇸 and don't want to come back and it's up to the king who lives in the Royal residences

nilsoften · 01/03/2023 15:30

If William and Kate are getting the lodge, how exactly will they explain them getting a fifth royal residence in a cost of living crisis? Or are we to expect an official note saying that the Prince and Princess of Wales are separating, but not divorcing? Making that William alone gets the lodge while Kate keeps Adelaide cottage - rumours abound about these 2.

Lets see if I can make this work:

Oh why did follow the link. 🤣I mean she has 11K views so M&B is still a thing somewhere and not just in the 2nd hand book stalls.

These end up as 1p books on Amazon where the seller makes a few p on the postage. But even then it would be overpriced.

Stunned because their lease was broken with years of rent paid in advance.
