I'm not surprised. I wonder if Harry and Meghan will buy a new UK residence.

They seemed to think Harry would leave his wife and kids and come back to the Royal Family. This is another petty power move to try and make sure if they visit only Harry comes. I think Harry will just turn his back on Charles as a result. Harry is not coming to the Coronation.

Omid Scoobie has now made it clear that this was not done in joint agreement with the Sussex's and they are very unhappy about the decision

And even if it is, so what? Considering H&M are hardly ever in the UK now, they could surely find somewhere to stay among the countless properties the RF already own, and at least they'd then get security too

I’ll be honest, I haven’t read the full thread so not sure if this has been addressed but I’m confused why Harry has to give up Frogmore Cottage - didn’t the late Queen gift H and M the cottage as a wedding present? Or was it only ‘you can live in it’ not ‘it’s yours’? I distinctly remember at the time of the wedding the media reported she had given them a house - was this technically not true?

It an empty house (or soon to be) which needs to be occupied & maintained. H&M have made it blatantly clear it is not for them (not big/grand enough etc) & with 2 kids now probably is too small.

At least this way they can keep an eye on Andrew & the corgis!

They wouldn't even have to be alongside whatever other family member they'd rather avoid if so - after all there are enough places

Not knowing them I couldn't say, but wasn't it William who once said in his own words that Charles doesn't see that much of W&K's own kids? (I'll try to look it up)

And nobody made a fuss because:

1. Charles was a grown man.
2. Charles had announced his separation from Diana three days before Anne's wedding. That announcement is what attracted press attention.

Why would they crash at their dad's place when he has been so hostile towards them?

@ScribblingPixie They were paying rent on Frogmore. So legally it is their place. And it looks like Charles may have acted illegally. If he has I hope Harry sues him.
Oh but then he can't! Charles is above the law and can do what he wants.
