What do you think?

I'm not surprised. I wonder if Harry and Meghan will buy a new UK residence.

I am stunned at the stupidity of harry and Meghan if they are indeed shocked by this. On what planet would they expect to keep frogmore, when living in America full time and slagging off the monarchy for money.

of course Charles had to take this decision. At one point rhe public would be asking why they had frogmore when they don’t live here and don’t visit.

Exactly!

lipstickwoman · 01/03/2023 12:14

Surely security is a complete red herring. They could always kip in the castle instead surely

Youwhatnowbiggles · 01/03/2023 12:15

Oh for goodness sake, they don’t LIVE in this country. When they (very rarely) come to visit they can stay in one of their family’s (exceptionally large) houses - this would additionally solve all their protection ‘worries’. Totally bonkers for them to expect a grace & favour home when they’ve made clear they don’t wish the UK to be their home. But then, I think they’ve made quite clear how bonkers they are - not surprising they still expect to have the world at their feet with no graft.

Asthebellcurves · 01/03/2023 12:15

They should get back the renovation costs. Also don’t like the optics of giving it to Prince Andrew, makes Charles look like a paedophile sympathizer whatever the reality. Too many cases of Andrew being treated better than Harry and Meghan, who regardless of perceptions of their actions haven’t had to pay out to a child sexual abuse survivor.

purpledalmation · 01/03/2023 11:56

Don't be ridiculous. There is no evidence he was involved in grooming.

The allegation is that he raped a sex trafficked teenager who had been groomed, You do not have to do the grooming yourself to rape a grooming victim.
Or do you think the friends the Rotherham grooming gang brought in to rape groomed teenagers are totally innocent?

lipstickwoman · 01/03/2023 12:17

They should absolutely not get back the renovation costs. You don't get given a house, do what you want to it and then expect to get your money back when you change your tiny minds about living in it.

Completely agree. I'm not surprised they are aggrieved though...because they are always aggrieved.

AmandaJonah · 01/03/2023 12:20

You are just making up that they are aggrieved. They have not said that. They may have given up the lease. The lease was an annual one.

AmandaJonah · 01/03/2023 12:23

Eugenie and Jack lived in the house until November 2022. So it was occupied. Now it is empty it makes sense that Harry and Meghan would give up the lease.

Sadly it is what usually happens. The family member who speaks the truth is ostracised and punished by the family. The family members who support the fanily, even if they commit crimes, are supported and their wrong doings covered up.

It’s rank hypocrisy in the case of the Sussexes though.

Anyone in their orbit is gagged with NDAs so they can’t speak out about their own experiences with the couple. Meanwhile they gloat that they never had to sign anything, take personal advantage of the access they had to private and confidential interactions (which they only had on the expectation they would respect that confidence) and exploit it for their own personal gain. They tell lies in court in the happy (though in one case mistaken) expectation that the people who can point out the lies are not free to speak up. They smear those around them while litigating people they consider have tried to tell their truths about them….

Blueyandbingooo · 01/03/2023 12:26

Their mouthpiece omid scobie has said on twitter they're shocked so I'd guess that's the narrative they're going with whether it's true or not!

Sounds quite like our tabloid press too who love to make up stories on so called 'sources' smearing anyone they want to because they know people will swallow their truth. Exploiting people's families just to put out salacious stories.

AmandaJonah · 01/03/2023 12:28

@Blueyandbingooo All the Royal Family have reporters they leak to.
Do you have a link to that tweet?

Republic, the anti-monarchy protest group is planning peaceful demonstrations for Coronation day and there is a petition !

actionstorm.org/petitions/notmyking

Well, so they bloody should be! The clue is in the name…

Honestly, they’d be a pretty rubbish anti- monarchical organisation if they didn’t bestir themselves to organise a protest at the first cornerstone event of the institution they want to overthrow for 70 years, after all! 🤣🤣

I LOVE the drama of the thread title - EVICTED!

Poor homeless family. 🙄

purpledalmation · 01/03/2023 12:33

@DysonSpheres You clearly haven't followed the Rotherham case. All the men were aware the girls were not consenting

Lol its purely used for dramatic effect. But factually incorrect since they don't actually live there they are hardly evicted! But hey telling the truth isn't going to sell the papers or make it clickbait worthy

AmandaJonah · 01/03/2023 12:37

@purpledalmation I have read lots and lots about the Rotherham case and The Andrew and Epstein case. I am convinced Andrew knew full well the teenagers there had been sex trafficked.
People do not like the comparison between the Rotherham grooming gang and Epstein and Andrew, but the only real difference is money.

Wheresthebeach · 01/03/2023 12:37

Agree the word Evicted is used to create drama around it all...they don't live there, they have no intentions of living there ever so why do they need it? They really shouldn't care. God knows they can stay elsewhere if/when they ever visit.

Serenster · 01/03/2023 12:38

It’s funny too - I’m sure several of the posters getting exercised by this were also previously scathing about how people like Prince and Princess Michael of Kent had apartments in Kensington palace despite engaging in commercial activities to fund themselves. Consistency is over-rated, I see. 😀

journeyofinsanity · 01/03/2023 12:39

It horrifies me how little you understand what grooming is. Andrew was buddies with a convicted sex offender. He had sec with young women provided by this convicted sex offender. There is no way in God's earth he didn't know what was going on.
Generally innocent people don't pay £15m to shut down court cases.
Perhaps you think the women weren't trafficked. Jeffery Epstein should have hired you as his lawyer.

Totally agree. The Windsor Framework put together followed by Charles shaking Ursula von der Leyens hand and having tea with her at Windsor Castle. He's already meddling in politics, he just can't help himself.

The Queen shaking hands with Martin McGuinness wasn’t political? The Queen inviting presidents etc. and putting on state banquets wasn’t political? Nicolae Ceaușescu etc. The King meeting Volodymyr Zelenskyy wasn’t political?

The monarch has always been “used” by the government of the day to assist in diplomatic situations. As I understand it the negotiations took place in Windsor, which is very near Heathrow airport and so convenient logistically, and that is why it is called the Windsor agreement. Quite a few EU treaties have place names e.g. Maastricht, Rome, Lisbon, Nice etc. No, I am not naive that it also happens to link to the RF.

A quick photo op and a chat with the King is hardly him interfering in politics but carrying on a tradition of the Monarch being asked by the government of the day to support the U.K. on international matters. This was an agreement between U.K. and EU and as such he was representing the U.K.

Roussette · 01/03/2023 12:40

DysonSpheres · 01/03/2023 12:05

Having sex with someone who is trafficked for purposes of sex is not deemed ever to be consensual.

A trafficked person cannot give consent. Therefore the default is rape. Previous grooming by others (Epstein, Maxwell) in order to make the person sexually compliant having previously occurred.

In Rotherham not all the men would have been directly involved in the grooming process, but benefitted by proxy in getting availability to have sex with young girls.

Well said.

Even in the Maitlis interview he was questioned as to the fact he could not spend time around Epstein and not know.
His pompous answer sums it up. He thought they were just staff. Yeah right... lots of underage girls but just staff.

Prince and Princess Michael of Kent... rightio.... she writes 'royal' books and his trading on links to Putin, for cash. At least up until Ukraine, he has now stepped back. And they have lived rent free in a massive KP apartment, courtesy of the Queen, for decades.

At least H&M paid market rent.
