What do you think?

I'm not surprised. I wonder if Harry and Meghan will buy a new UK residence.

If it's true, then as I said, it really doesn't reflect well on the Royal Family.

Perhaps it's a reflection of the lack of nuanced management the Queen had acquired through years of diplomacy and managing public family upheavals. It's shows Charles is still finding his way.

This along with his presence at the Windsor Framework shows a lack of subtlety imo. But then he's a man and bound, perhaps, to be less cautious.

Isn't UK police security for royals only for working royals of UK domicile, though? So they'd have had to make private arrangements for it while they're here anyway?

It does seem silly to have a five bedroom property sitting empty almost all the time. When do they ever come back?

Eugenie and Jack were living there until November 2022. They have probably just given up the lease now Eugenie has moved out.
And Harry is never coming back. If there was a chance he would hang on to a house in the UK.

tatalan · 01/03/2023 11:41

This is where Harry and Meghan piss me off at times, you do your tell-alls, when the consequences hit, I don't want to hear how stunned or sad you are. Nah, take it with your chest.

It is however funny that Charles is letting them have the house till the coronation. He still expects Harry to be there.

Perhaps stop reading the gutter press and believing their versions if you don't want to hear (or read) bollocks.

Omid Scoobie has now made it clear that this was not done in joint agreement with the Sussex's and they are very unhappy about the decision. This was on his Twitter.

"Barred from access to police security, there's just one space that meets the Sussexes' security needs when visiting the UK — Frogmore Cottage. Soon, that will no longer be an option."

This was his comment in a paper in Australia (news.com): A source close to the couple told him [Omid]: “It all feels very final and like a cruel punishment.
“It’s like [the family] want to cut them out of the picture for good.” Link: www.news.com.au/entertainment/celebrity-life/royals/harry-and-meghan-stunned-by-king-charles-cruel-decision-to-evict-them-from-frogmore-cottage/news-story/c84dc08013e9c65d5f314e57eebe67c4

I'm shocked that this is clearly true and was obviously not done in agreement with the Sussex's. As someone on page 1 wrote, I assumed that the truth was less salacious and that the Sussex's had been consulted and agreed in order to stop paying the rent. It seems that they were booted out. This is a big hit to the relationship between Charles and Harry. Harry's been effectively told that he has no place in the UK and will only be a guest in the country. Security arrangements will likely mean that the couple would need to ask Charles and Camillia or William and Kate to stay with them if they wanted to visit. They are obviously not going to want to do that. Charles has effectively ensure that Harry will rarely return to the UK although he was clearly only coming over for very significant, obligatory and public events anyway. I feel sad for the father and son relationship as I think it will be much further damaged from this but I salute Charles for not giving in to some of behavior merely because Harry is his son.

I think it is extremely unlikely that this will come over to the UK for the coronation now.

I smell the wicked witch of the west here, so called 'Queen' Camilla here like a cuckoo gets to help chuck Harry out of the nest and shove her children front and centre at the Coronation. She has been rumoured to have had goes at W&K as well, such is her perfidy. Mistresses are by definition untrustworthy people, as are the men that consort with them, as every other thread bar here on MN will pay testament to.

ReneBumsWombats · 01/03/2023 11:49

Surely they can just crash at Charles' house on the very rare occasions when they're in the UK. I'm sure he's got a couple of folding beds somewhere.

Littleflowerseverywhere · 01/03/2023 11:51

I am stunned at the stupidity of harry and Meghan if they are indeed shocked by this. On what planet would they expect to keep frogmore, when living in America full time and slagging off the monarchy for money.

of course Charles had to take this decision. At one point rhe public would be asking why they had frogmore when they don’t live here and don’t visit.

Of course he should be there. It's the biggest day of his dads life.

AmandaJonah · 01/03/2023 11:53

I doubt Harry will be there. The Royal Family keep making it clear they are not welcome.

The same Dad that took back Harry's only home with crown protection? Charles has drawn his boundaries, I hope Harry draws his own by skipping the coronation.

Blueyandbingooo · 01/03/2023 11:53

There are plenty of royal residences they can stay in when they come back surely? Apparently they weren't expecting this, but really they moaned very publicly about the size of it and seemed very unhappy with the place, along with burning all of their bridges surely it makes sense not to hold a house for them here that will not be used much and that they evidently hate.

GoodChat · 01/03/2023 11:54

@tatalan yes because there's a huge difference between family and work - and that's essentially what this is.

tatalan · 01/03/2023 11:55

Apparently, they'd signed a lease which is now broken. Fair enough.

So the security was bound to the property, not the occupants?

How long was Harry supposed to keep it? He lives in America. He's never here.

milti · 01/03/2023 11:55

They really are dumb - they DO want to cut them off for good- it’s over !

If Andrew had sex with a sex trafficked 17 year old, then he did rape her.
Unless you think the Rotherham grooming gang did not rape those 16 and 17 year old girls either?

Don't be ridiculous. There is no evidence he was involved in grooming.

milti · 01/03/2023 11:57

Get the
message - we are done - with you Andrew, Fergie and Eugenie!

Well bearing in mind the RF have 27 properties spread throughout the UK, palaces, castles, country estates etc...mostly sitting empty, I think that point's a bit moot to be honest

Yes, security was bound to Windsor Great Park where the property sits (someone correct me if i'm wrong).

I hope Harry gets this message from Charles.

@ProfessorChaos

They're a couple of corkers aren't they!

purpledalmation · 01/03/2023 12:05

@ilovepuppies2019 This is omid scobie and Harry and Meghan speaking. None of whom have a serious relationship with the truth.

@nilsoften Wicked queen Camilla.... grow up. W&Ks children are children, not adults. I'd love to see Louis tottering up the aisle carrying a sceptre. Or Archie kicking the orb?

@GoodChat Is this the dad he slagged off in his book or another invisible one?

Harry and Meghan were planning to leave in 2018, 2 years before they left. They don't want to live here. The RF don't want people who can't keep their mouths shut, and I don't want my taxes to pay for them. Win-win.

DysonSpheres · 01/03/2023 12:05

purpledalmation · 01/03/2023 11:56

Don't be ridiculous. There is no evidence he was involved in grooming.

Having sex with someone who is trafficked for purposes of sex is not deemed ever to be consensual.

A trafficked person cannot give consent. Therefore the default is rape. Previous grooming by others (Epstein, Maxwell) in order to make the person sexually compliant having previously occurred.

In Rotherham not all the men would have been directly involved in the grooming process, but benefitted by proxy in getting availability to have sex with young girls.

Littleflowerseverywhere · 01/03/2023 12:05

Oh well at least they can keep on with their victim narrative.
