My friend just sent me this. I adore Gabor mate and the work he does. His book 'in the realms of hungry ghosts' was life changing for me who had suffered serious addiction issues. But am I being too harsh to feel disappointed he's jumping on this band wagon of garbage. I'm sorry but Harry we're sick of listening to your trauma and no offence you've sung it to death, (and I don't even think it's that bad relative to how much he has gone on and on about it) and trauma aside you're a complete hypocrite with how you've treated you're family and the trauma you've put them through!!

“I mean, do you seriously think a rehab centre with serious drug addicts in attendance allows a 26/17yo on its premises for a chat without parental permission? You think Harry came up with the idea of visiting the centre on his own? Of course Charles had a hand in it.”

I’m astonished that any drug or alcohol rehab would allow anyone to come in and speak to the residents about the impact drugs are having on their lives etc.. I’d imagine people are pretty fragile then, and shouldn’t be used as examples of why you don’t do drugs etc.. Shouldn’t their privacy and dignity be respected, even by the Royal Family? It certainly should be respected by the rehab centre treating those people.

I think he met with three people there. They didn't have to meet him. According to a guy who was there, they were happy to talk to him and warn him away from drugs, particularly as he told them that he was doing a lot more drugs than had been revealed then, or now. Could have been Harry just lying and exaggerating, though. That wouldn't be out of character.
I don't know if you've done group therapy, but you're often at all sorts of different stages within the group. People just starting out at the centre being helped by those that were getting ready to leave. I don't think this is uncommon practice.

I would hold off passing judgement just yet. Mate is incredible and authentic. He may very well bring powerful insight to this troubled man.

I wouldn’t yet place it in the silly, sycophantic tv interviews. He will easily be able to deal with PH’s outbursts if challenged.

Gabor is also selling his own epic book recently released that took him 10 years to write. This is just a commercial venture for them both.

Any ethical therapist wouldn’t attempt to wrestle with unresolved trauma live on air on a global stage.

They are both there to flog their books.

I hope Harry does not overindulge on the wrong drugs or else his IQ will go into negative numbers 😀

He didn't just do a therapy session on air. Trying to lead out as yet unrevealed or unconscious revelations, but he also did an interview about the session. I've been in therapy, both in single and group sessions. And the one thing I learned is that, if done properly, it's a very selfish process. And you can't really judge anyone else mentioned by a participant. The patient's stated feelings about another person may, or may not, be true but perception is not fact. Therefore for a therapist to make conclusive or definitive statements about anyone talked about within the session shows either a poor therapist or one with their own agenda.
You can feel sorry for how someone perceives their past or their present life, but you cannot know how accurately their memories or feelings reflect the truth.

sydneysunset · 04/03/2023 18:41

The Telegraph has published a photo of the interview- no idea as to the content but Harry’s fake hair is very unflattering

It is hair grafted from his pubes, that's why. Overall, it does improve their appearance.

How very true. I have been reflecting on this a lot lately.

But pubic hairs have a totally different texture to head hairs. I have no idea how walking around with them on your head could be an improvement. You'd have to be starting from a very low bar!

purpledalmation · 04/03/2023 19:54

I didn't think it would take Harry long to have a hair transplant after the snide remarks made about williams baldness.

The 'brand' just wouldn't cope with anything less than 'perfection'. All he needs now is to turn up with a Hollywood smile (a la Rylan) and we can all snigger away 😂

I dunno. Perfection is having pubes growing out of your head? I think that's a pretty desperate solution.

Ooompaloopa · 04/03/2023 20:14

Did anyone listen to the talk?

Did he sound like he was happy and has resolved his trauma?

And just to add, my mum is 87 and her hair is completely white but her public hair is still black. (Don't ask how I know! 🙈 ) Will Harry be walking round with white hair and a ginger patch at the back of his head? Perfection indeed! He's a gift that keeps on giving!

VixenTodd · 04/03/2023 20:17

Lol. Does ginger hair really turn white though? I heard that it simply fades.

MarshaMelrose · 04/03/2023 20:48

I didn't know that. How interesting. So if the red head hair fades white and the public hair stays red, I hope he had the transplant in the shape of a cross. He'll look very patriotic.

He has pines up there as well?! Bloody hell. There's more going on outside his head than in it! Mind you, that was probably ever the case. 😂

I really with GM hadn’t “diagnosed” PH with ADHD during this thing, yet again bringing to the fore his potentially harmful theories on ADHD.

purpledalmation · 04/03/2023 22:23

They don't transplant pubes! @MarshaMelrose Please say they don't! I'll have to google a recent picture of him. 😂😂😂

Doesn't this Gabor mate promote drug use to release issues? Def speaking to the converted then.

BillLius · 04/03/2023 22:24

Pines v pubes - same thing.

It wasn't me that said it! It was me passing it on, though. 😊

Talk about a meeting of minds. But Harry doing all that cannabis...no wonder he thinks everyone is out to get him.

I was coming here to say this.

I'm absolutely FUMING at the casual throwaway diagnosis which will add more weight to the general conception that ADHD is a pretend diagnosis with no basis in reality.

And apparently Mate said that ADHD can be cured, which is also complete and utter fucking bollocks.

Howsimplywonderful · 04/03/2023 22:46

I don’t agree with his adhd theories either

Totally unethical and unprofessional to ‘diagnose’ someone in this situation.
