Why is the Queen commenting on the Roald Dahl controversy?

I thought the Royal Family were supposed to be uncontroversial and unpolitical, so why is the Queen getting involved in this? It is nothing to do with her, she did not have to say anything?

Or have the rules changed and they are now going to be more controversial and political?

With almost every thread in the RF forum I have to go to celebitchy to get the full story first.

Queen Consort Camilla is very keen on good literature. Through the pandemic she suggested books for book groups etc. Camilla is well read and loves the written language.
It is not political to promote freedom of written expression, particularly when an aclaimed writer is deceased and people contemplate changing his words. One can't change history. Camilla obviously likes reality and appreciates literature as a reflection of the time it is written. It is an insult to change the very considered and aclaimed words of successful authors.

I am surprised about the controversy. She is the Queen. She will be crowned at the Coronation officially as the Queen.

Just read she will be officially called the Queen after the Coronation. No Consort at all.
