William being rude during public visit

William visited an Ipswich hospital. A staff member had made cakes for his visit and decorated them with union jacks.
William then took part in a video call with some children, including the sin if the woman who made the cakes, William said to the young boy: ‘Your mother’s feeding me her cakes.’ He then held up a cupcake to the camera, and said: ‘They’re not very good!’ The children then burst into laughter as the prince adds: ‘I’ve told her she wouldn’t win Bake Off.’

I can understand the children laughing, but this is just so rude. The NHS staff member made cakes with her own money for his visit and all he can do is insult them.

Oh dear. The South Park episode is all over twitter this morning, and it looks like H and M have even surpassed Trump regarding ridicule from America. I bet the op doesn't find that funny either.

The Worldwide Privacy Tour hehehe

Prince of Canada is now a journalist despite hating journalist hehhehe

Cenosillicaphobia · 16/02/2023 10:18

Did you watch the whole thing before making your post OP? Reading your post I was thinking oh what a twat he sounds but then I watched it all and it’s a complete joke with the lady fully involved, nil bad intent. Nothing like when husbands joke how bad the “missus “cooking is - I dislike when men do that too, but this wasn’t that.

MrsFinkelstein · 16/02/2023 10:21

The woman who baked the cakes seems delighted - she posted it on Tik Tok.

And she said on her SM she loves Prince William. She is the only person who has a right to be offended and she obviousl.y wasn't

Jokes at other people’s expense are not funny, just mean, no matter how hilarious a bunch of schoolboys think them. I really hope those defending William’s behaviour aren’t raising their children to think it’s ok.

Plitvice · 16/02/2023 10:26

Does he get his social skills from his dad or grandad - take your pick? 😀

Plenty do think this is okay. I think they are only saying that because he is a Prince. If he was William who lived on a council estate they would all be outraged.

@Plitvice From his grandad. Philip used to make rude jokes that he thought was funny. Supporters always dismissed his rudeness, racism and sexism as quirks.

My family are working class, both my parents grew up on council estates and this would be a joke in my family. We all have a sense of humour.

purpledalmation · 16/02/2023 11:06

I'm sure he said they were nice when the cameras were off it was a joke for the kids

lollipoprainbow · 16/02/2023 11:25

He was also making fun of a ginger haired guy on the video calling him Ed Sheeran ooh how hilarious.

I am working class. My mum would never make cakes again for my dad if he made this "joke".

This is pathetic.

It was a joke made to connect with the woman’s son. And it worked. Because that’s one of the ways we, as humans, connect with each other.

I honestly find this thread quite dark, because some of you sound so…robotic. I don’t understand how this joke could attract such “heavy” comments. I can feel the heaviness in your posts. You all need to seriously lighten up.

OutofEverything · 16/02/2023 12:33

You can connect with a woman's son without putting down his mother. Or at least anyone decent can.

Can’t believe you are still going on about this. Clearly the woman was happy with the joke. There is plenty of actual injustice for you to get wound up about OP

Plitvice · 16/02/2023 12:35

The Sussex fans are going to read bullying into every situation involving Kate and William forever just because Havvy said so. They don't realise that the Havvies moved to a mansion in California precisely to get away from the Have-notties who passionately defend them and enjoy luxury without false apologies.

OutofEverything · 16/02/2023 12:36

Fine. William has taken on Philips mantle of making offensive jokes. But they are the Royal Family so anything they do wrong has to be minimised. Nothing to see here folks. Keep giving them our money.

And I see that you, in turn, have taken on your mother’s mantle.

Life is hard enough. If you take everything else in life this seriously, good luck to you.

Here they come, I wonder if one of the clan agrees with, is my turn to create a thread on here to trash William or Catherine and then the rest follow, it seems to be a theme every few weeks, I guess the South Park episode hasn’t gone too well within the Sussex supporters

100% . Will be interesting to see what happens when it is aired...

OutofEverything · 16/02/2023 13:15

Honestly that comments seems a bit pathetic. You honestly think no one can have an opinion that disagrees with yours?

I still can't believe this website is free.

It's unreal how we get to see so many people getting offended on behalf of Complete strangers.
