"Kate's Rebranding Masterclass May Finally See off Meghan"

MrsMaxDeWinter · 08/02/2023 14:13

"Five months since she moved up to the second tier of the monarchy, the Princess has started beefing up her top team to make sure she succeeds not only with her “life’s work” on child development, but also with the task of besting Meghan Markle."

Why does Meghan have to look bad for Kate to look good? Why does Meghan need to be bested or seen off? Why is it a competition?

Catherine has a job to do and she's doing it well.

Megan who?

Her name is spelt Meghan which might mean why you don't know her?! Grin

She's the Duchess of Sussex

LadyEloise1 · 11/02/2023 09:26

I wouldn't share a lip gloss.
Even with my daughters.
I'd be afraid I'd give them a cold sore.

And doesn't she just love that title. 😁

pilates · 11/02/2023 09:37

@Samcro nothing POW does would ever be good enough for you. I’m not sure why? She appears to have a healthy balance of working for the RF and being there for her children which is equally important imo.

Bookist · 11/02/2023 09:51

Catherine is now the Princess of Wales and will be the future Queen of the United Kingdom. That's the kind of branding that Meghan could only ever dream of.

Did Willy deserve the state of his penis to be discussed publicly?

No, but the royal babies are circumcised because it said so, probably in Woman's Weekly in 1958, so no big news to anyone. I expect Harry's was, too. Did he say, in the book?

So years before William's mother was born there was an article about royal babies. Maybe, just maybe, his mother might have had other ideas and not let it happen. I wouldn't let it happen to my sons, my Jewish friend wouldn't let it happen to her son, my Muslim friend was having a dilemma about it as she said no and her husband said yes, she had a girl so dilemma over.

So no it shouldn't have been discussed, we didn't know it had happened and frankly it is none of our business.

notanotheroneagain · 11/02/2023 09:58

As for MN changing, oh yes, it has changed unbelievably since when I first joined. I used to 'know' people on here... not literally, but it was so much smaller it was more of a community. Now NCing is so much more rife,(it really wasn't back in the day) it is more disjointed and real discussion on threads is harder because of posters swooping in with a new name to plant a bomb

The NCers do my head in.

Makes it hard to engage over here. Especially the ones who follow you around threads and dish the personal insults and try their best to undermine.

I have no problem with someone NC on different boards eg. a different name for Education/TV/Politics etc. But I believe in people using one name for that specific board.

I changed my name on this one board once, due to technical difficulties that had me locked out and I explained it on here. In fact most older posters remember what I posted 3yrs ago under that name.

Now we also have NCs who mimic your username. I never pay much attention to names, as it's not personal for me. They have caught on, and confusing usernames have been increasing of late. Makes me weary.

Did anyone watch 'the undeclared war' on c4?😅

Yes I'm the same. I hate the fact that an aunt decided to kiss me as a 3 year old and I got my first outbreak, it was terrible and I remember it well. Got worse at puberty and I had regular huge outbreaks. Currenly tend to get them up my nose more than on my lips, absolutely horrible. I have always been so careful not to pass it on and am happy that my children are adults without cold sores.

Still baffles me as to how Harry’s book about his story and his truth needed information about his brothers cock.

I mean what part of Harry’s truth is that?

I'm guessing that Camilla had these thoughts.

Except none of them are HMQE, who even republicans tend to respect. Also, even for royalist, she is 'married in'.

Did anyone ever think that about the Queen Mother? I've honestly never heard anyone make that sort of suggestion other than reports about the Duke and Duchess of Windsor being nasty about her. I think that told us more about them than her.

Horrible invasion of privacy and absolutely irrelevant. No one needs to know that.

@notanotheroneagain Yes, and what about the 'user98458477' type of poster. That name is something assigned to you if you can't think of a username I think? Dunno cos I don't change. They make a habit of following me around.

I don't pay much attention to usernames either, but many posters do... and they seem to have an encylopaedic knowledge of something you (me) posted 5 years ago and it's brought back into play to prove some pathetic point or other.

A few years ago I linked an article from I can't remember where (Grazia or similar) about K&W's marriage. It was early morning, I hadn't read the article properly, it was a mistake to link it. Since then, I have probably apologised ten or more times for making this mistake. Is that acceptable? No. Only last week someone who was determined to have a go, brought it up to prove I 'stick the boot in' to Kate. FFS it was years ago, and I made a mistake and I have apologised profusely since!
Pathetic.

I remember little of what other posters post years and years ago.

ArcaneWireless · 11/02/2023 10:19

They have ‘married in’?

Maybe they should have been shackled to a person from another royal family and have done with it.
Worked a treat for H8 eh?

No-one can ever be like the late Queen because she was born to it.

Getting someone to ‘marry in’ is pretty much needed. Or else succession is pretty much buggered.

I do wonder if H would have had all this angst if he’d have popped out first. I very much doubt it. That brand would have been welcomed. Celebrated.

Being second doesn’t necessarily mean second best. But if that is how he chooses to brand himself more fool him.

Samcro · 11/02/2023 08:53

what job?

POW. She's paid quite well I believe and is expected to work.

pilates · 11/02/2023 10:24

@Roussette I do agree with you the constant name changing is annoying. I appreciate some people do it for anonymity but others have a hidden agenda.

weird I read somewhere that she (M) squeezed some on her finger. so not sure it was one like a lipstick,

wrong. I like her. just don't think she works at a job. she has a role yes. but not a job.

LadyEloise1 · 11/02/2023 10:33

Ah ! @Samcro
A tube of lip gloss is different. You can squeeze it onto your finger without touching the container. I was thinking of a different type of container with a wand thingy.

OMG, this is all so true.

That user number thing is so annoying, and done deliberately to confuse. A few reporters have been rumbled on twitter as having secret secondary accounts around sm.

I do notice the only people who get called out are the ones defending H&M. No one ever questions the anti-H&M posters (even when most parachute in out of nowhere with outright lies).

Then other posters seem to really observe posters and trying to find out as much information about them personally as possible. Someone once complained about me not sharing much Information as to who I am. I kept thinking, what has that got to do with the subject. I revealed something about an ancestor, next thing I know I am labeled a nazi on another thread - yet I'm busy defending a woc too? (that ancestor had nothing to do with nazis, btw)😁
The concentrated gaze does creep me out. Then there is the stalking around not just threads, but boards too.

Well, I get hounded for things I posted ages ago. I don't necessarily apologise for it, as I still believe what I posted, but the proof was not definitely slam dunk (something required as compulsory if you are not an H&M basher, as you will know. But you can post all sorts of made up nonsense about H&M 🙄). Then a new name confronts you about what you posted years ago.

Posters also seem to analyse your style of writing. Someone is currently confronting me on another thread as we speak. I'm not young, but work with teens, so may have a specific lingo (naturally for informal setting, I guess, which I consider sm to be). I joined ages ago, when MN was still in it's infancy. How time flies. Things are different now. Been on and off over the years, but the scalding vitriol over MM has been different, particularly vile and quite hard to take even as a bystander. Other royals do not have this level of hate, no matter what anyone says.

My DC are so advanced in tech, one (not even a teen yet), once said "oh mum, so many people are trying to track you, a lot from that Mumsnet". Fortunately, my computer blocks most.

Princess of Wales IS a 'hugger'! Kate goes on a spree of cuddles after Meghan Markle claimed the 'formal' royal found her embrace at their first meeting 'jarring'

Another day, another propaganda headline about how Kate is out to prove Meghan wrong.

Kate is a hugger! A hugger, I tell you.

Or as one wit on Twitter put it, Kate is now on a "Hug A Pleb Tour". 😀

I'm stunned by people who think they are so important and relevant that many people are trying to track them down @notanotheroneagain . Don't you think you are maybe taking all of this just a bit too seriously? I can understand why people may look at someone's posting history if they feel strongly about a topic but IRL?

🤣😂🤣😂 I like Kate, but that was funny. “Hug a pleb tour” 😄

MrsMaxDeWinter · 11/02/2023 11:18

@RainyDaysareCarp

I made the mistake of saying what university I went to, and have been hounded about it ever since, with people trying to prove that I did not go there and demanding that I get Mumsnet to prove it.

It does happen.
