The "Where's Meghan" Question Has Been Definitively Answered ...

She's been busy!

I hope that those who expressed concern will be happy to know that she has been working with the Archewell team on their just released Impact Report.

Meghan and Harry are polarising figures but there is no doubt that they have galvanising power to get projects, both little and big, off the ground.

Harry, with William and Kate, was a co-founder of the Royal Foundation in 2011. They had a start-up fund of just under 5 million pounds, of which 1.3 million pounds was given away in grants.

10 yrs later, Harry and Meghan set up Archewell, with start up funds of 13 million dollars, and give away three million dollars in grants.

As with both foundations, the reserve is carried over.

The range of their projects is interesting, from working with the Vaccine Alliance to raise private sector contributions to distribute vaccines, endowing academic fellowships, working with partners in resettling refugees from Ukraine and Afghanistan, working with World Central Kitchens, to smaller projects like the Uvalde community playground and park and a really cute project to a small charity that gives free hair braiding to young black girls in Texas.

I am so pleased for them, their advisors and staff as this is a dream start for any start up. I have long been sceptical that they may have spread themselves too thinly, so I am glad to see they are now focusing on just three areas, as they find their groove.

@skullbabe

IMDB is the go to, everything is on it including upcoming projects, news etc. about actors, producer work etc.

if it’s not on there, they didn’t do it

Because she has dreams of becoming as famous and revered as Julia Roberts. Remember some people's ambitions have no limit.

Even when their talent does.

SoTedious · 04/02/2023 18:56

What I said is we don’t know what experience they have.

We do though - there would be evidence if Meghan was already an exec. This kind of information is never secret, the whole point of credits is that people know about them.

Ohnonevermind · 04/02/2023 19:00

This is Meghan’s experience

Brilliant - I think you’ve established little experience. Interesting to see how they get on from here.

skullbabe · 04/02/2023 20:35

@SoTedious - went down an IMDB, Google and Wiki rabbit hole of actor producers and how they get their first stints and the why’s. Very interesting. Thanks for that - not that I’d ever do it (or even could 🤣 do it) - film EP looks financially risky maybe TV better? To each their own and best of luck to them.

Yes. Although it might be said royals venturing into light entertainment tend to have died in the water (see It's A Royal Knockout and the dull, lechy, bullying Tindall's I'm A Celeb borefest although TBF he did rake in the magical £££)

All that said the first truly loved up and in love couple in the history of the world may indeed play a romcom blinder and in the process focus heavily on 'fictional scripted content'.

They are after all proven masters.

Coxspurplepippin · 04/02/2023 21:10

I thought the whole point of an executive producer role is that you get a share of the profits without actually having to do anything. You see it all the time - relations of directors/producers etc, actors in the production who are also exec producers meaning they get a split if the profits as well as their actual fee for acting.

Ohnonevermind · 04/02/2023 21:24

Reece Witherspoon has been very successful making the transition from actor to producer.

Rupert Everett is a very naughty man and likes to create mischief.

Blip · 05/02/2023 11:47

😂 I don't think Meghan is in the same league as Reece Witherspoon in either acting or directing.

Given that neither Reese nor Meghan have directed anything so far, we may never know.

Producing however, Reese has done a lot of. Meghan is in the same position Reese was before she started producing, so again, only time will tell.

Well I think we already know on the acting scene eh? 😜

Reece's shoes seem quite big ones for M to fill in my opinion.

SoTedious · 05/02/2023 13:46

TBF she is in the same position as anyone who has no experience of producing tv. What Reese has done is by the by really.

Viviennemary · 05/02/2023 15:49

Daily Mail reporting their popularity has sunk in the US where they were once hugely popular. Hmm.

She’s a much better and well established actress.

In the same way, I imagine you were not the beneficiary of Meghan's Grenfell cookbook project, as that was for women affected by the Grenfell fire.

Meghan supported this project. It was NOT her idea though and it is NOT her cookbook project. This is the Hubb community kitchen's Grenfell cookbook project that Meghan helped promote. Quite a difference.

In the aftermath of the Grenfell Tower fire of 2017, a group of women came together to set up Hubb Community Kitchen, a place which aimed to provide a sense of normality and home for those affected by the tragedy. Inspired by their work, Meghan Markle got involved with the women and eventually suggested they create a cookbook, to help raise the crucial funds needed to keep their efforts going.

The community kitchen was there after the fire but the cookbook was definitely her idea, as testified to by the women involved and the reports at the time.

Fair enough.

I've always thought it was their idea and she supported/encouraged it, but hadn't read the mirror article. It was their cookbook though - think it is a bit much calling her project/cookbook after all the hard work that so many people put into it.

MrsMaxDeWinter · 05/02/2023 17:17

I don't think Meghan having a brilliant idea that highlighted the excellent work being done by the HCK is taking anything away. Isn't that the point of this sort of royal support? To highlight good work others are doing? Meghan's idea for a cookbook, with their own recipes, simply took them further. A good thing surely?

The Sussexes are now subject to vast amounts of public mockery and Mickey taking even by the USA (Jimmy Kimmel etc) - I think this is game over for them and I don't see many being willing to work with them going forward.
