Brave man. Painfully transparent and authentic. At last..
Someone that tells it like it is. Refreshing at least and if even 50% of people that read Spare now looks at press articles cynically then that's a result ! I am excited to see change - we need it .
What do you think ?

There's always one... that has to make things personal about the person/poster, rather than about the views itself. Sigh....

I think his mental health is extremely damaged and he has decided to do and say whatever sells the most books/gets the most views and makes enough money to keep his lifestyle and damages the family that he feels have betrayed him.
Is some of what he says true, definitely but I’m sure there’s a lot of fabrication and twisting of the truth too.
I’m no lover of the royal family but think Harry needs help but I’m not sure Megan has his best interests at heart.

I've recently often wondered also about her influence on him... is she behind it... for her own gain etc. Then I just concluded he has a lot of points that are so raw and unfair and untruthful that whatever small influence comes from her, uts predominantly his book...his words abd feeling and account... but yes definitely can see the impact of a few things that happened to him in the book

I don't think Harry has harmed the Monarchy.

I think he's provided a remarkable insight into what his family have had to deal with, and how hard the PR-machinery worked at trying to maintain his image as a loveable cheeky chappy. That image has been wholly blown apart.

I imagine it will be something he comes to regret.

Well said

hes shown his true colours - and they are murky.

the nasty bullying of the matron was bad enough, but the total lack of adult reflection and sincere apology is vile. I’d be ashamed of he was my kid.

Jordosky · 25/01/2023 22:31

op, a bit surprised that you’re calling out other posters. When you literally referred to Kate as a b - misogynistic much? Or maybe I’ve misinterpreted it as a slur, difficult to gauge without the ‘context in the voice’ 😉

entirelyesspresso · 25/01/2023 22:32

Harry has ....what now? Grin

DonnaDonna0 · 25/01/2023 22:40

It’s also easy to say things that are not necessarily true if you know the other party will not respond or defend themselves.
Harry’s hurt and we all do and say things in angry that in time we come to regret and I think Harry will regret this in time. Is Megan the driving force behind all this, who knows but I think many people suspect she is, she’s smart and driven; I can’t really say that about Harry.

I see your point. B....chy behaviour then from her - hard to argue that kind of behaviour wasn't though.... just surprised. Didn't expect that of her ... that was my point

I almost feel I now have to read or listen to the ENTIRE book again... looking for some of the things some of you pointed out as negatives . God almighty i dont have the emotional strength in me to do that again lol. But I must ! Interestingly also among a small group of friends that read it we are 50/50 divided... no one is in the middle on this!!

But we don’t actually know that this happened at all like Harry says it did. He himself admitted in the book that his memory may not be accurate. And in this case I think context is important in that we don’t know what the tone of the “baby brain” remark was. It could have been light hearted or said with a sneer. We don’t know. If it was the latter, then I’m not surprised she was offended. And I think that not calling the PoW a b and just saying her behaviour is b…chy is hair splitting.

LadyVictoriaSponge · 25/01/2023 22:53

Why does Kate defending herself against a rude and misogynistic comment made against her, make Kate a bitch or behave in a bitchy way pray tell?

LadyVictoriaSponge · 25/01/2023 23:00

Oh the irony of Meghan saying Kate had baby brain and then does a series of podcasts
Archetypes is the podcast where we explore and subvert the labels that try to hold women back

I understand the tone of how it was said to K we will never know... so, assuming 'baby brain' comment was said as hundreds of people say to new mums, and it's actually a thing... make it misogynistic? What am I missing? I've had it said to me and it didn't offend... I've said it to others and that was also OK. It's mainly used as way of sympathising...no?
Rude, if said in a sneery way I can totally get....
It's also the "we don't know each other well enough to talk about my hormones"... how odd?
Anyway as others have pointed out I've gone off piste with this one and that wasn't the intent so.... don't want to dwell on it too much

not to dwell on it as you say, but we don’t actually know if that is what she said

Hi Meg 😉

LadyVictoriaSponge · 25/01/2023 23:22

It's mainly used as way of sympathising...no? possibly, it can be from another mother empathising with another mother (which Meghan was not at the time) or it can be used to try to undermine a woman to make her look stupid, a bit like if you forgot something at work and your boss says it must be because you are on your period, it’s reductive and is used as a weapon to undermine women.

You mean like a bot a bit repetitive, odd, and as if the posts are populated with mildly unpleasant phrases and concepts?

And slightly goady? yes, those.

Coxspurplepippin · 26/01/2023 08:35

Depends how the baby brain comment was said/intended but to me it's more the fact that Harry and Meghan have hung on to these comments about small incidents, baby brain, bridesmaid tights/dresses and the incidents seem to have grown in their heads until they become something major, rather than just putting it down to the stress of a moment and moving on. TBH if that's all they have to complain about Kate on, they're making themselves look petty.

Xenia · 26/01/2023 11:00

Baby brain does not exist and is a personal and very nasty comment from MM. If MM is not sure what is accetpable in the US she should ask someone else first before using phrases. It is also a very very sexist comment. I took 2 weeks maternity leave and was right back advising on some of the hardest legal contracts/work in the UK without any effect on my brain whatsoever.

However it is more the fact Harry is spewing out all these things in public that is so objectionable. i am sure we have all said in life things we regret but thankfully most of them are not then published in books. Also he has made so many mistakes about what happened when I wonder if drugs affected his mind to make his memory poor - unlike with baby brain I think drugs affecting a brain IS scientifically proven.

justwren · 26/01/2023 12:34

He's just so... dim. He always has been.
Proper away with the fairies little saviour complex. Euw.

ferntwist · 31/01/2023 22:06

Very much agree OP. And I say this as someone who was a big supporter of most of it
