Andrew in bid to clear his name

Daily Mail is reporting this, I heard it on Sky News press preview. He is going to try to get her to retract her statement, apologise and pay back the money. It's hard to know what to think. But apparently, she dropped the case against another man after saying it was a case of mistaken identity. Prince Andrew said he can't recall meeting her. Very stramge.

He seems an odious oaf, but I do agree that he is not a paedophile. Attraction to older teenagers is sleazy, but certainly not in the category of those attracted to children (ugh).

On a legal point, the age of consent in the US differs by state. In Florida (the country club) it is 18, but in New York (Epstein’s place) it is 17. Does this have any relevance?

On a different point, I scratch my head at some parents. If a person is in care/from a troubled background then maybe they sadly don’t have someone to look out for them. But VG was not in this position. If dd (the same age) came home from her Saturday job and said some bloke was paying £300/hr for cleaning and then wanted to take her on a plane… ha ha ha ha - yeah right like that’s going to happen. She would be locked in a tower a la Rapunzel. I smell Michael Jackson vibes where parents were queuing up to present their sons as companions and being quite surprised at the $$$$ appearing in their bank accounts…

Fine he is a rapist. Is that better?

Because parents can be feckless. Because parents can want the money their children bring in. Because parents can be useless at parenting. Because parents can be alcoholics and drug addicts. There are lots of reasons. We are not talking middle class loving parents here. We are talking vulnerable teenagers, VG, she was a runaway, she lived in foster homes, she lived on the street. She'd been raped and assaulted before.

AttentionAll · 22/01/2023 15:34

@ThighMistress And it is bleeding obvious VG did not have someone responsible looking out for her. Because as you say, no decent parents would allow their daughter to go ahead with that scenario.

AttentionAll · 22/01/2023 15:37

The classis thing that makes teenage girls very vulnerable is if they have parents that won't or can't protect them. The latter usually means parent with severe mental health problems or drug or alcohol problems. Predators zoom in on these kids because they know they are vulnerable and have no one to look out for them.

Oh dear he is more stupid than I thought - nice of him to pursue this in Coronation year. That said his gagging order expires in February but if he really wants his day in court he's going to have to swear an oath and face cross questioning if VG doesn't back down before that.

His best defence is to say as a divorced man I had a full and consensual sex life with a number of willing partners over the years. In each of these laisons I had no reason to suspect that any of these women were anything other than equal un-coerced participants.

I now know from evidence that my friendship with Jefferey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell was wrong, misguided and a matter which I now deeply regret. It is a matter of deep personal shame that I allowed my sexual appetites to overcome what should have been a more responsible and holistic approach to relationships with these women. I apologize unreservedly to any women who feels that any relationship in hindsight was anything other than consensual or legal.

In an attempt to protect my dear departed mother from any further embarrassment I indulged in falsehoods during the interview with the BBC as to knowing Virginia Giuffere but I wish to restate that I had no knowledge or insight as how she became to be my partner on that evening and from her demameour and actions before, during and after had no reason to beleive that it was anything other than a totally consenual and legal engagement. I am fully prepared to help the FBI and other legal authorities in whatever way I can.

I am undergoing counseling for sexual addiction and I hope the British people have it in their hearts to forgive me and in due course I can come to serve my country and monarch as they feel fit.

ps. That Harry he's a real wrongun isn't he ....

And then bring out a book called Bare and go on the circuit .....

Stranger things have happened and this seems like something Andrew should do, but clearly won’t. And I actually don’t that he’d say something similar, bar the Harry comment, in his interview with Emily Maitlis. But I can’t say I was surprised and he clearly seemed to believe what he was saying and seemed almost arrogant enough to believe that people would fall for his stories.

It's all a bit weird that Maxwell gets to do a TV interview from jail where she is serving 20 years for sex trafficking and then during that interview says the photo is fake and Andrew is innocent a month before the gagging order expires and then PA announces he's maybe going to fight to clear his name.

I did not know that Shock How’s she even allowed to have a camera crew there in the first place?

It's actually easy to fake photos but wasn't he also filmed leaving the house she was staying at and waving at her?

It's so strange that no other men were charged after Ghilane Maxwell's trial. Surely names must have come out?

@Charley50 I highly doubt Maxwell will be forthcoming with any credible information anytime soon especially if it’s true about what happened to Epstein.

@RoseHansBolo But didn’t Andrew stay at Epstein’s house? Was it not for this fact and that he apparently remained in touch even after the initial conviction shows that Andrew is very much friends with Epstein. As far as I’m aware, I’m not sure the same can be said for Charles? Happy to be corrected.

But if he’s innocent he could clear his name by talking to the FBI, as he said he would in his interview. But apparently all access to him is being blocked, by the Palace, disgustingly. He really is an intellectually subnormal piece of shit. And all those covering and supporting him are no better.

Has it really been blocked or is Andrew blocking it himself by hiding behind the Palace gates? I’m assuming that there’s some kind of diplomatic immunity for palace residents.

Well they’ve stated they’re getting no responses to requests from the palace. And I’m pretty sure there’s immunity for all of them whilst they’re ‘in the fold’ for anything that could taint the brans. Look at Harry and the drugs tests in the Army. That’s only coming out now.

There has been no criminal prosecution of Andrew neither here nor in the States. Presumably because either no criminal offence was presumed to have been committed, or if it was, there wasn't enough evidence to prove the case and secure a conviction. So this was a civil case. She says he did, 3 times, he says he never even met her. They can't both be telling the truth. So who is lying? ........

Virginia was considered an unreliable witness, and was not called to testify in Maxwells prosecution. In this case, if she can't produce the original photo to prove otherwise, then of course it can be said that the photo is false. She has also dropped her case against Dershowitz, saying she was mistaken about his identity.

Andrew has given us a load of old guff about not sweating and visiting Pizza Hut, on one relevant date in London, but appears to be unable to prove either. Where was his personal protection officer?

Even if he does manage to get Virginia to admit to another "mistake" in identifying him, and the picture could be proven to be false, the verifiable truth is that Andrew stayed in touch with a man who had been found guilty of sexual offences against a minor. His reputation is shot from that alone anyway.

Maybe it took place a long time ago Giuffre cannot things as clearly. That’s not to say that it didn’t happen. And her admitting that she was “mistaken” does not mean that Dershowitz was never at Epstein’s house. He has admitted to getting massages there whether it was by Giuffre or someone else, that’s a different story.

Watching that Maitliss interview with Prince Andrew was cringe worthy. He came across as an absolute idiot and someone used to people agreeing with everything he said because of who he is. Sorry but he seemed to be so out-of touch with reality and showed no empathy for the trafficked girls whatsoever. It was all about himself.

ssd · 22/01/2023 18:30

I believe her

AutumnCrow · 22/01/2023 18:33

Leaving aside the utter madness of all this, if you watch that Ghislaine Maxwell interview clip, watch her blink rate when Jeremy Kyle asks her about the photograph. The blink rate gets faster, and faster, and when she says of the photograph 'It is a fake. I don't believe it is real for a second, in fact I am sure it is not' it goes through the roof. And she recoils and self-soothes her neck.

I would bet good money that she's lying, she's scared, and she's totally untrustworthy.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11663321/Ghislaine-Maxwell-says-no-memory-Prince-Andrew-meeting-Virginia-Giuffre-Video.html

Meanwhile Fergie - yes, the Duchess of York one - gave a eulogy at Lisa Marie Presley's funeral earlier and shoehorned in reference to her 'late mother-in-law' i.e. the Queen. Yes love, we know who you married.

It's like the Twilight Zone.

AutumnCrow · 22/01/2023 19:31

Apparently it's a journalist called Daphne Barak interviewing Maxwell in jail, not Jeremy Kyle? It's all very weird.

CathyorClaire · 22/01/2023 20:35

Charles never slept with a friend of JCs, or went to his house, or did anything other than what he does with hundreds of other celebrities... entertain them for their contribution to charities.

Charles had private dinners at Savile's home, accepted a royal PR handbook written by him and turned to him for marriage guidance counselling.

CathyorClaire · 22/01/2023 20:38

As far as I’m aware, I’m not sure the same can be said for Charles?

Charles lobbied Lambeth Palace on behalf of the cautioned sex offender Peter Ball and had the Duchy of Cornwall buy a house to rent to him.
