Funding Freedom - Palace lies

Omid Scobie in Finding Freedom said that Meghan received security training, including on how to deal with being kidnapped. Omid Scobie says in a tweet below that a Palace Official confirmed this was true, But it was not.

In both the Mail court case and in Harrys book Spare, it was revealed Meghan was not provided with this security training.

The Palace straight out lied to Omid Scobie.

@GoingOnce Do you understand how journalism works? Fact checking is totally normal. People can say no comment. But in this case the Palace said the story was true, even though it was not.
The Palace lied.

I'd be more inclined to think its h&m's camp that are lying tbh.

Why do you automatically believe pople that have been proven to have lied several times?

trucklebrunch · 20/01/2023 15:40

I thought Omid got his information for the book straight from Meghan though?

Ohgodthepain · 20/01/2023 15:41

I can't imagine the palace commenting on anything security related.

That is what the Royalists say. It is not true.

Did you even read that? Seriously?

IcedPurple · 20/01/2023 15:54

Ohmymag sounds like the type of 'publication' Scobie might have worked on.

Cherry60 · 20/01/2023 16:20

I don't need to believe anything that comes from The Palace to know that M and H are manipulative, dishonest and vindictive.

Damnautocorrect · 20/01/2023 16:24

More security leaks

OrcastralManoeuvresInTheDark · 20/01/2023 16:26

Did you see my last @babsanderson about how it would likely be the Royal Protection Command division of the Met who decides who get security training? And why it’s possible that if the palace did lie, they could have done so to protect Meghan?

Wow

what a great source.

not.

TrashyPanda · 20/01/2023 16:33

And exactly what has that got to do with Harry saying Scobies book was wrong?

TwoRuns · 20/01/2023 16:36

That is what the Royalists say. It is not true.

Royalists? Stop labelling people who can't stand the Sussexes, we are not all royalists. Not really fussed about the monarchy one way or another but the pair are insufferable, nasty bullies with huge chips on their shoulders, who just need to STFU.

What's the purpose of this thread? To try and garner sympathy for Meggie? Or to divide us up in royalist and Sussex fan club segments? Your thread is as insufferable as Meghan and harry.

babsanderson · 20/01/2023 16:40

The purpose of this thread is to point out the Palace lie to journalists and say false stories are true.

I think you mean Whinge and Ginge lie repeatedly, getting married in a garden for starters. Harry has fried his brain with drugs which have made him aggressive and paranoid, like my relation who started at the same age on cannabis and told me had tried everything. Megan controls him totally, all she wants is £££££££££

Bluekerfuffle · 20/01/2023 16:48

If Scobie claims there were a number of things from the palace that were not included due to fact checking, what happened to the fact checking with this one that they now say isn’t true?

IcedPurple · 20/01/2023 16:51

babsanderson · 20/01/2023 16:40

The purpose of this thread is to point out the Palace lie to journalists and say false stories are true.

I don't think anyone is naive enough to think that 'the Palace', or more accurately, assorted royal employees, always tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Same can be said for most organisations. You'd have to be a bit of a fool to trust them implicitly. That's why most intelligent people have a healthy scepticism about all such 'sources'. Same with journalists, and jumped up K Pop hacks. Especially those with an obvious agenda.

There's no evidence that 'the palace' lied in this particular case, however, or even that 'the palace' said anything at all. So your thread is kind of silly.

AutumnCrow · 20/01/2023 16:56

Didn't Meghan have to apologise to a court for something?

JaneJeffer · 20/01/2023 17:00

I'm imagining him ringing the wrong number and a Londoner taking the piss.

Is that Buckingham Palace?
Yeah course it is.

BMW6 · 20/01/2023 17:04

"Funding Freedom"

Funniest Freudian slip EVER 🤣 😂

Coxspurplepippin · 20/01/2023 17:05

babsanderson · 20/01/2023 13:56

I know Royalists love to slag off Omid Scobie because he tries to tell the truth.

Hahahaha

Maireas · 20/01/2023 17:08

AutumnCrow · 20/01/2023 16:56

Didn't Meghan have to apologise to a court for something?

Indeed. Providing information to Scobie for "Funding Freedom" (great typo!)

Maireas · 20/01/2023 17:10

Is calling people "Royalists" if they comment on the less than honest Sussexes the equivalent of calling people Remoaners if they ask questions about Brexit?

MarshaMelrose · 20/01/2023 17:17

babsanderson · 20/01/2023 14:06

Okay so now the line is the Palace does not lie is it? Even though you accept the Palace did lie to journalists about Harrys drug taking?
It is clear the Palace lies again and again and we can't believe a word they say.

But the palace didn't lie as far as they knew. Harry lied to the palace and they believed him.
