The royal family

The Royal Family is incredibly dysfunctional

They are an incredibly dysfunctional family with lots of internal rivalries, poor parenting and a strange culture of stay silent and we will protect you from actual crimes, but speak out and we will destroy you.
They really are a mess and I suspect they are so dysfunctional, they do not realise just how messed up the family dynamics are.
But maybe such a dysfunctional family is inevitable within a hereditary monarchy where your accident of birth means you have access to more money and power than your siblings and other close relatives?

Oh, that's alright then.

As long as the colonies continue to respect a dead monarch, its all good 🙄

Ugh, please do not refer to the other countries represented at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral as “colonies”. Most of them were not colonies of ours, and every country has been a colony of some empire at some point in history.

Weird interpretation.

Vast swathes of the world were never governed by the British Empire at all and international diplomacy is a necessary part of post war globalisation for all countries, (seeing as only America and maybe Russia are self sufficient).

That we have a weird old tradition (with historical buildings) rather than a Donald Trump type figurehead is a useful negotiating tool, might as well work with what we’ve got.
I’d rather have a King Charles than a President Boris, personally.

Onnabugeisha · 16/01/2023 01:51

@Leemoe
I would hope that the 'everyman' of our nation was not a paedophile sympathiser/friend of sexual deviants/incompetent parent/racist/adulterer.

Which of these do you think King Charles III has done? It sounds like you think he’s all of the above which is pretty bold defamation.

The Pope is also a Catholic.

And bears shit in the woods.

Well the 'ugh' totally convinced me to comply with your wishes 🤣

In case it has escaped your notice I have less than zero respect for both the monarchy and any/all empires. I realise this may have come.as something of a shock to you. No, I will not be apologisi g for this stance.

babsanderson · 16/01/2023 01:53

I would rather have a President Boris and I hate Boris.
But Charles accepts a million in cash in a suitcase, defends the paedophile Peter Ball, had Kimmy Saville give marriage counselling to him and Diana. The man is a liability. And he is there until he dies. Whereas a President would be a short term.

I would be willing to hear him plead his case before I definitively declared him to be either an incompetent parent or a racist.

I'm not a fan of Boris, but at least he is not seemingly beyond reproach.

You don’t have to respect the monarchy or any historical empires, but it isn’t conducive to reasoned and logical discourse to use inflammatory language that is not factual.

I find your appeal to any semblance of logic wholly ironic given the circumstances.

And you think Boris is better? He’s abandoned most of his children and says more racist things in a week than Charles III has in his entire life.

Better? Not necessarily.

More transparent and honest? Definitely

To add,

You know nothing of what KC says in private company. You're not supposed to.

His son seems to think he has racist tendencies and that he has 'got in to bed with the devil'

None of Johnson's children have been anything like as scathing.

Well, if you’re going to present yourself as the logical side of a debate, and post about how the rest of us are illogical, crackers & brainwashed, it’s not a very convincing act when you post such complete logic fails. 🤷‍♀️

Surely, if your view is the logical view, you could argue it coherently with logic and not have to resort to inflammatory falsehoods and manipulative appeals to emotion?

DaughterOfPsychiatrist · 16/01/2023 02:03

Boris, honest?

🤣

Well, yeah because Boris is an absent father…so most of his children don’t know him. Not sure how that makes Boris a better person or parent…

All within the public domain.

His son doesn't need to essentially blow the whistle.

When Boris befriends sex offenders and excuses paedoohiles I will look in to revising my assessment.

I can safely assume that if he was guilty of either that we'd have heard of it by now.

So, you’re now saying that the less famous you are, the more about you is in the public domain/less you have about you that is private?

You know that’s not true. The RF has more about them in the public domain than any other family, including Boris Johnson. So we are seeing most of their iceberg, but only the tip of Boris Johnson’s.

Surely you can appreciate that there is a vested interest in protecting the RF?
