Where is Meghan?

I haven't seen hide-nor-hair of Meghan since the book release which is uncharacteristic of her. Even with the Montecito floods there was no news. So I'm wondering how this is playing out? Happiness or anger behind closed doors?

She has ambitions of high office and this will have hurt her

Someone who gets pouty over who made who cry over a bridesmaid's dress? She'll last five minutes in US politics.

www.usa.gov/election

Plus she'd be up against people with actual hands on political experience and who have a LOT of money to run their campaigns.

Also reminds me of how badly Louis treats Kate, pointing a finger in her face and covering her mouth. Must be behaviour learned from watching how William treats Kate.

Oh don’t be ridiculous

Lol. Bit of a stretch. Louis has older siblings and cousins that he will be mixing with. It’s childish behaviour that children do to each other, (well, naughty children, not all), but “I need my space” is definitely not something a child dreams up on their own.

Coxspurplepippin · 27/01/2023 20:44

MoChridhe, I take it you don't have kids Grin

pilates · 27/01/2023 20:50

@MoChridhe what a strange thing to say

I reckon she is waiting to see how Spare goes down in the US. If it is not well received, she will distance herself. But given that Harry did well on John Corbet and sales have been huge I think she is busy preparing her big play, whether that is her no-holds/barred book and/or a more public role. There is no way she is hoping to live a quiet family life!

Think it's going down well. All of my American colleagues who have read it have loved it so far. They are well liked over there.

I want to read it too to be fair. I don't understand why people are slaying him for it. Charles released his own book after his divorce and well we already know Lady Di interview. He just followed his parents footsteps.

Bluekerfuffle · 27/01/2023 22:26

A big difference between Charles and Harry is that Charles didn’t go around scowling and glaring at everyone and accuse the whole country of being racist and act as if everyone was beneath him before flouncing off to another country and suggesting that he might deign to reconcile with his family if they apologise to him after slagging them off.

I don't think Harry accused the country of being racist either. He mentioned unconscious bias which exists in all of us and he also mentioned the skewed reporting by the media. It's plain to see. You can't deny the way Meghan was reported on was completely opposite to how Catherine was reported on and good on him for standing up to that and pointing it out.

Having said that though , just because he is calling our injustice doesn't mean he's a not compete prat either. Royals are not monoliths, no one is perfect. I also feel If he wants to air his laundry in public then up to him. Both him and his brother have had a pretty effed up life despite the entity they were born into so it's quite interesting to hear his side as one sided as it may be.

Brissles · 27/01/2023 23:11

You don't have a complete personality transplant - always laughing one minute to turning into Victor Meldrew the next, from the moment you're engaged unless there's been brainwashing and a lot of ear bashing involved.

Catherine also had bad press in the first few years, Camilla even worse. Meghan was not reported on in a completely opposite manner at all. The difference is their husbands didn’t have a tantrum about it, they knew it would only make it worse.

Yes, the change in him was quite remarkable. He might have always been a spoilt, immature prat, but he seemed happy before. To go from that to always scowling, frowning and moping is weird. Also praising his family not long before getting married, to accusing them of all sorts of abuse now is also weird.

Bluekerfuffle · 27/01/2023 23:37

Talking or praising families not long before getting married, she did the same to her father. If you can believe him, he said she seemed to have changed since meeting Harry. What the hell happened to them both? Alien abduction and a bitterness implant, or a really bad shared therapist? Probably not the therapist as apparently she didn’t have access to one in the UK.

Coronateachingagain · 28/01/2023 00:24

So. Where is she; one wonders? Enjoy the silence though!

AwesomeApple · 28/01/2023 09:26

Nobody will trust them.

Two individuals who have violated their family and friends' privacy in such a hostile, immature and 'I'm telling mummy' (the world) style are basically scum. People value loyalty, discretion and family or close friends / their tribe, especially people in the public eye or those who are very wealthy. They can say what they want about RF, it won't stick. But the act of sharing their petty family grievances renders the Sussexes untouchable. That will be their legacy. They weren't very smart and they are certainly less talented or smart than they think.

Writing her own book.

hoooops · 28/01/2023 10:00

It is weird when previously they have almost always been seen together, that she wasn't publicly supporting him on the interview tour when he hates that kind of thing. I don't buy the theory about not wanting to steal the limelight, this is Harry's thing - Invictus is his thing too and she's happy to go to that. They make such a big deal of how close they are and how supportive of each other.

I think she might be trying to figure out how to move on from Harry in the most PR-positive way possible. He has harmed the reputations of both of them in the book and she has already done a little leaking of how she didn't think it was a good idea.

Brissles · 28/01/2023 10:09

I've a theory as to why Meeghan always clings limpet like to Dopy. She struggles to walk in her high heels ! She rarely walks alone in them - just watch her when she's next on TV, her gait is not elegant.

Perhaps M & H just bring out the worst in each other. Has H still got his male friends (or any friends) from before he met M? You know your true friends who you went to school with/clubbing etc.

Totally agree. They’re being talked about but anyone who matters in that kind of life or who could have been useful to them, will be keeping them at a healthy distance.

He said on the Netflix series that he’d lost a lot of friends. I’m guessing all of them.

pilates · 28/01/2023 14:19

That is very telling; falling out with his family and friends, her family and friends and people who have worked for them. If you were H &M, would you not be saying is it us? But I suppose they are so wrapped up in themselves it probably hasn’t crossed their minds.

Her tell-all book will be a lot more lucrative after the divorce.

Leave the woman alone. People wanted her to fuck off, so she has, and now you want her to come back!

@ObsidianBlock Yes, it’s a month later and I agree with all of this. 👍🏼

She's in the same place she's been for most of the last few years - out of the public eye and living a private life. It's not that hard to tell the difference between the constant threads about her, the Daily Mail click bait linking her to whatever random nonsense it can because it generates views and comments like nothing else and the daily GB news rants about how they wish she'd shut up when they're just thirsty for outrage views, and reality where she's not actually doing anything, just sitting quietly at home no doubt. The obsession would be funny I it wasn't so disturbing.

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I’ve never paid much attention to any of this until recently (around the time the Queen died) and it really is amazing how obsessed everyone seems to be with her. And she’s just…at home being a mom. It is disturbing. I don’t get it.
