Harry demsding aplogy - royals must come clean

I thought this was blowing over but Harry has now said royals must apologise and come clean for what they've done. These are quite strong words I think. And now a royal aide to the late Queen wants an aplogy for something in the book he says refers to him. Maybe the royals will have to make a statement if Harry keeps on.

A spoilt child has had a tantrum, his targets are ignoring him, so he's stamping his foot.

If they haven't reacted by now, it seems unlikely they will.

It's all getting a bit boring now. And worth remembering that sequels are seldom an improvement.

Suzi89 · 14/01/2023 21:15

My guess is they’re also ignoring him behind the scenes aswell, as opposed to when he did the Oprah interview and they contacted him

The grey rock-ing is clearly making him really mad (no surprise there). I think he thought he could dismantle the family motto of 'never complain, never explain' by forcing/goading the RF into having to complain and explain - the RF are playing aren't playing ball.

It’s wild, we’re watching a private, family dispute grey-rockinng play out on the world stage in real time.

It really is a very effective strategy!

StatisticallyChallenged · 14/01/2023 21:16

Bet that's what Charles is thinking about Harry!

Lesserspottedmama · 14/01/2023 21:17

I’m starting to think he’s completely barking. Likely a mixture of early trauma, dysfunctional upbringing, lack of intelligence, and a wife who massively - and likely deliberately- exacerbates and aggravates his inferiority complex, paranoia and mental health issues. Plus I think he may have addled his brains with drugs somewhat. What a fool, it is painful to watch. He could have had a wonderful life.

SockGoddess · 14/01/2023 21:20

The sex and penis ahem “information” is just mind-boggling. There’s revelations and accusations, and then there’s just unnecessary and inappropriate. I work in the book industry and I cannot fathom how he, Meghan, the ghostwriter and a whole string of people involved let that stuff through. It makes him look really bizarre and unhinged and makes it much harder to take all the other stuff seriously.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 14/01/2023 21:27

I also think he is reading things online about him, and things have turned, I actually wouldn't be surprised if they read MN, and reddit etc. He thought this book would make everyone turn against the RF, but it appears, in Britain at least, that the opposite is true.

Poonicorn · 14/01/2023 21:29

Yes it seems really unethical of the publishers, particularly the Taliban stuff. But most people become ethically blind when you wave wads of cash in front of them.

Motelschmotel · 14/01/2023 21:31

I think the drugs and the sort of therapy he’s getting make it very difficult to know what to do. Difficult to expect rational, logical behaviour.

Personally I think his rankings hold an element of truth. There’s no way the RF isn’t fucked up in some ways, no way there aren’t dirty dealings with the press and elsewhere (Charles’s have been proven) - I totally buy his claim that it can be dark and dirty. But he seems too thick to comprehend that there’s a bigger picture, that it’s not about the individuals involved, that his bread is better buttered playing the game than not (despite his paranoid delusions - he even says he got the palace to give him a referral in California for private security companies!).

He has no idea how cold it can be out there. He’s literally a Prince, son of a King. How can he? But his wife does. She’s been there, and she never wants to go there again. Who can blame her? She’s perfectly willing to play the game, whatever part of it benefits her the most, for however long she can, for whatever she can get out of it.

He’s going to play a heavy price for his stupidity, one day. Poor kids.

Poonicorn · 14/01/2023 21:31

I reckon Kate is reading Mumsnet and seeing what people are saying. Hope it gives her some comfort that most of the British public aren't buying Harry's "subjective truth".

CauliflowerCheese30 · 14/01/2023 21:52

He's no better, in fact I would say he's even worse than Thomas Markle, the only difference between the two is that I don't think Thomas set out to be malicious.

Her staff will be monitoring all media/social media to check on the pr aspects.

People talk about it like this is a human story. It is a business story, the RF are a projected image.

No one should confuse the public behaviour with the behind-the-scenes reality. You are watching a performance. They are very highly paid performers.

And Thomas Markle was in a far more financially precarious situation (than the second son of the King!) so you can sorta sympathise with him selling a story or two… wasn’t he an active bankrupt around the time Harry met Meghan?

Plus the first (?) press collaboration (those obviously posed ‘papped’ photos) was actually quite sweet and didn’t involve any airing of Meghan’s dirty laundry at all.

Definitely not worth getting ones britches twisted over!

Is it about Andrew, this 'apologise or else'?

If Harry has any intel on the RF covering up for Andrew (over Epstein, Maxwell and the sex trafficking) then surely it is his duty is to reveal it now, not hold it over the RF as a form of blackmail.

If not, then it's still interesting why H doesn't have an opinion on that - the biggest scandal to rock the royal family in my lifetime. Andrew remained friends with a convicted paedophile ffs. H must have an opinion.

Funny how he's so noisy about drugs, sex, his knob and bridesmaids dresses but quiet on Andrew.

Bjarnum · 14/01/2023 22:12

Didn't he say he had left a lot of material out of the book so as not to totally alienate his family.? But there's enough content for second book. Does anyone think this sounds like a veiled threat?

Talapia · 14/01/2023 22:13

I'm going to apologise to him. He seems keen to blame anyone really, so it might as well be me.

I'm sorry Harry, whatever was wrong in your life was all my fault.

Please accept this apology, and now, enough about your cock, estranged family, your strange timeline of events, your posh boy, entitled,
misogynistic banter.
How Meghan hasn't ready this book and run for the hills, god only knows.

Hush, hush no more talking.

It isn't his duty to sell it to the highest bidder. If he knows anything the only people he should be speaking to are the police.

Nothing 'veiled' about it.

But really, I doubt he has any 'bombshell' revelations he left out just to spare their feelings. It's more like a desperate cry for attention at this stage.

Lucylock · 14/01/2023 22:15

I think the privileged prince should shut up now. Some of us are having problems paying bills , heating our homes and there's more to come. His woe is me act is tedious now.

He does mention Andrew in the book. He says at least they’re not sex offenders or words to that effect. I imagine that will be the end of his relationship with Eugenie.

Wheresthebeach · 14/01/2023 22:22

He’s definitely trying to blackmail them now…and it’s not a good look.

I just hope they continue to grey rock him

CrispsnDips · 14/01/2023 22:23

He will certainly regret all of this when he’s older….

Aspiringmatriarch · 14/01/2023 22:24

Where is this reported? I haven't seen it.

Prescottdanni123 · 14/01/2023 22:27

I understand how Harry feels. Like him, I once felt that my family were being horrible and unfair. So I told them. But they didn't listen. And then they started ignoring me. So I started yelling and demanding that they apologise. The only difference here is that I was 3 years old at the time and Harry is a grown ass man nearing 40 years old.

@Aspiringmatriarch Interview published in the Telegraph this morning.
