I also cried just sitting on the sofa in the middle of the day.

You wanted to make money from the monarchy on your terms and the Queen said no. You either work for the monarchy but you dont get to pick and choose the bits you want - you get to be patron of the runny poo society aswell as the glory ones that get the glamour.

I like and agree with your post. This world operates on jealousy and hatred, this is why this book sells because people drag themselves to hell sucking someone's toxic hatred against ones family. So the many mumsnet witches who actually support Megan and Harry. Lol. The same toxic brood who comes here just to enjoy other peoples problems.

There are plenty that still are even here ! I keep on wanting to get back to the book but I feel an urge to leap back in. There is a thread running on the Book Club which has a reasoned discussion by those that have actually read the damn thing. I commend it to the house....

I agree that Harry is certainly entitled to his view, his pain, his memories as he remembers them, respect for his voice and to have the freedom to express himself as he sees fit.

My issue is not with any of the above, or even writing a book about it for big bucks.

The issue as I see it is that he choose to reduce and diminish and deliberately target and hurt others. We did not need to hear about the King's teddy, his terrible school life - that was Charles' story to tell if he wanted to. We did not need to hear or see private texts about small children and bridesmaids dresses, we did not need to know many people Harry has killed. His celebration of torturing a disabled school worker was beyond the pale. So many things Harry included in the book were designed to hurt and degrade. So whilst I agree that he has the right of expression, that does not include manipulating and using other people's pain.

Calling his brother Willy throughout was demeaning, and a million other examples too many to list.

The book and the subsequent interviews are not about him sharing himself and his life, it is about revenge, blackmail and abusing family members that can not offer any kind of defence.

Does a nice bloke throw 80 years of his grandmother's legacy down the drain a few months after she died?
Does a nice bloke tell the world his elderly father was so damaged at school he needed to carry a teddy bear around?

This is not the actions of a nice person.
And whatever your reasons for slavishly defending him I hope they go some way to helping you in real life, because suspending your moral compass day in and day out takes its toll.

I think your ire would be better focused on the King who betrayed his wife from the off and is an agent of his own misfortune and then his younger brother and his enduring ,close relationship with a proven sex trafficker and paedophile rather than his prodigal son who has had anything but a normal life and has been damaged as a result.
