Do you think Harry and Meghan are happy?

It seems to me like Meghan plays the role of someone in love from footage of them over the years. It seems to me like their superior love story in the face of adversity is part of their brand and they are playing on it. For Harry, I have no doubt he is besotted with her, but just can’t believe that she truly loves him? My gut feeling is that she is just not as authentic as she claims.

Are they really happy and in love as they claim or is it all just a smokescreen?

I don't think so, no. If they were happy they would surely just sit back and enjoy the sunshine, amazing scenery and environment of where they live with their two gorgeous children, doing useful and fulfilling things, living off of their investments and withdrawing from the media merry go round and congratulating themselves on being free from the institution whilst maintaining relationships with the family (as many non working royals seem to be able to do)

However what they are doing, screams of wretched misery to me....

I think Meghan is highly narcissistic and incapable of loving Harry. when you see them together I see him head over heels, but she fakes it. Right from the beginning.
Harry is so angry and tormented and paranoid he cannot be happy. How can they as a couple be happy if he is so tortured

What is surprising about a journalist writing a book about one of the biggest stories of the last three years? How many journalists have written books on brexit? V odd response.

Seriously ? So many books about the royals. Lol. This is hardly a first.

Neither of them have any purpose in life. He can’t go back to being a royal and she can’t go back to being an actress. They’ve played their trump card too soon and have nothing tangible to show for it.

I don't think happy people complain and see themselves as victims quite so much - they have launched a campaign of bitterness and revenge against their families. If they were genuinely happy and at peace they would be just walking away from their so called toxic families.

I do think the must have periods of happiness though, with each other as they appear very much in love and their lovely children, hopefully these private moments are kept sacred without having photographers in to pose and record the moments to profit from.

I really do! It just seems too crazy, and I've never been one to believe anything I read. I think for this I'd need to actually have them say it or see a picture. Not for other things but for this, just as it seems insane to be doing this at a royal occasion

Happy or content people normally just get on with their lives and meander through the ups and downs of day to day living.

You would think that a beautiful wife and two gorgeous children (and inheritance) would be the base of a lovely life offering lots of opportunities never open to the majority of people. But Harry has explicitly explained in his own words how this isn’t the case for him.

Nobody can be happy constantly rehashing past grievances for money, fame and relevance. It’s just not possible. Until he just gets on with enjoying his life and family he’s going to be stuck.

He talks about how the RF may look back in 5 or 10 years time and “thank him” but one can’t help but think that in 5 years time he may well look back and reflect on his own mistakes. But that’s assuming he has the emotional intelligence to do so. Alternatively he may spend the rest of his life in a victim like state and that’s surely not a happy place to be.

At the end of the day it’s hard to see how happiness can be gained from his actions airing everything in public, as whilst there are many things that are transient his full on onslaught will have long lasting effects which will have an impact on his life. He just doesn’t realise this yet it would appear.

I don’t believe everything I read either. But there’s a difference in critically analysing information and simply closing your eyes to it because it doesn’t correlate with your view of the subject. That’s actually a really childish approach.

No. If they were truly happy then they would not have courted publicity with this book, the interviews etc. Even with valid grievances, as Mumsnet always says, the best revenge is to live well. I do think that Harry adores Meghan though. But that doesn’t seem to be enough.

Yes it was her first wedding where the favours were allegedly weed, I think it was a far more relaxed affair than her second!

Im on holiday, and I've been wasting the last few days on mumsnet and all these RF have sucked me into the M&H hype, I've never seen anything like it. Someone described as a frenzy, and that is so true. I didn't realise the joints were at her first wedding, if that was her first wedding, that is even weirder that it's being discussed what does that have to do with anything?? This is what I mean, it's insane. People are insane, myself included. I need to go do something better with my time and get a life 😳🙈

He doesn’t appear to be happy, he’s very bitter and paranoid and mostly scowling. He appears to dote on Meghan. I think she is an ambitious social climber to whom status is important. Her first husband was a TV producer, whose connections may or may not have helped her career. Being married to Harry has certainly helped her raise her profile. Her lack of friends or family, even the ones she did supposedly get on with, is odd.

I have major doubts about the claim in the book when Harry asked his friend Violet who was the girl with the dog filter and she apparently replied that at least six others had asked her the same question.

I know he is infatuated and thinks she is beautiful (as do the Squad) but what he can't accept is that most people would not look twice at her, especially his friends, William and others he claims were jealous. With that dog filter there was nothing to see anyway. They have a standard type in those sets slim, posh, blond, public school girls like Zara. I am sure he made it up.

Watching them both express what they want. Harry so articulate. He wants charity and humanitarian work in Africa and to be normal. He reiterates even at this young age he feels abnormal.

Harry expressed his desire to be "normal" - to live in Africa, split his time to work in a safari or do humanitarian work. He has always been consistent - I am glad he met someone who helped to be his authentic self.

Except he isn't living a normal life in his 16 bathroom house. He isn't a safari guide. He doesnt live in Africa. His main job is dissing the RF.

However, I agree he has met someone who has helped us see his authentic self: full of spite, petty grievances and vindictiveness.

It certainly makes you wonder what they’re going to do for the next few decades. They can’t be going on about the RF the longer they are estranged from them as it’ll all be so old and distant and even more tedious than it’s become now. Neither have any real talent or charisma in their own right but they’ll need something to fill their days once they’re a distant memory in the RF and W&K’s kids get older. They should really just concentrate on what they want and what they can offer as just Harry and Meghan or retire into the sunshine and enjoy oblivion.
