There's enough for another book! Prince Harry says he cut his memoir in HALF and stripped out details about his father and brother - as he claims he has 'long-term' aim to 'fix' the monarchy!

What an arrogant and deluded oaf!

The Duke of Sussex told The Telegraph he chose to leave out several bombshells because he was concerned his father and brother would not 'ever forgive' him.

'The first draft was different. It was 800 pages, and now it's down to 400 pages. It could have been two books, put it that way. And the hard bit was taking things out.

'There are some things that have happened, especially between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don't want the world to know. Because I don't think they would ever forgive me.'

Harry also revealed his motivation to speak out so publicly against the Firm is to ultimately 'save [his family] from themselves'.

He detailed plans to derail the relationship between the Royal family and the press, expressing his belief that in doing so he can protect future divisions in the family.

After the dust has settled, he expressed a hope that he and Meghan can reconnect with his family - even if they don't particularly like his decision to share 'his truth'.

😂😂😂😂😂

Such a simplistic view

Why? and how do you square your support and admiration for a member of the RF who has openly said he wants to be accepted back in that family (fat chance) while you deplore 'the reverence for a non elected family with wealth beyond anyone's imagination.' I mean, I don't doubt you do reconcile the two viewpoints to your own satisfaction, I'm just wondering how.

Indeed especially in the context of H also being very wealthy (even prior to leaving the RF) and also not being elected.

It's a position akin to burning the candles at both ends.

Of course H isn't responsible for the COL crisis, the war in Ukraine or the state of the NHS - but airing his petty grievances in that context is not a good look.

I'm sure his life has had its challenges and I don't doubt that being a member of the RF, despite its privileges has considerable downsides.

But those negatives are things that very many people would trade in an instant to have access to a cosy cottage, not to experience fuel poverty, be able to send their children to the very best schools, not worry about feeding the children or being able to buy nappies etc etc

It's the same issue as M's interview outside the orphanage. Nothing wrong with what she said, but time deaf when saying it when and where she did.

Yet.

What do you think will happen, thousands gathering at Downing Street demanding the constitution is brought down because Charles had an affair?

Roussette · 13/01/2023 21:37

Lol . I'm beleaugured. Get on!

No. I think there will be a gradual decline in support for the monarchy when they shield one peadophile too many, and that will be that.

Onedayatatime22 · 13/01/2023 21:39

Guess what? Nobody's forcing you to buy this one either.

Good grief. We're talking about a very privileged family of which Harry is a member.

Not one of them can be blamed for the current cost of living crisis, I wish they could! But that comes from a non-royalist, i.e. me!

Johnson has accepted millions since giving up being PM, that's more to shout about.

The RF are in a different league. We accept them ( I don't, but general pubic sadly do)

No need. Charity shops pretty soon will be pretty much giving Spare away and I can imagine the sequel will have the same fate. What's it going to be called, I wonder?

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 13/01/2023 21:33

What ones are beyond answering? how you reconcile you very vocal support for a member of the RF with your wish not to have a monarchy?

You don't usually have a problem with stating your opinions, judging by other threads.

This is what I don’t understand, @Roussette wants the monarchy to end by supporting a member of the monarchy who also does not want the monarchy to end, how does your brain compute that?

Roussette · 13/01/2023 21:37

Truly, I am interested in what you have to say to defend this individual and his methods. You have spent hours and hours over recent years defending Meghan and Harry to the hilt. You seem oddly reticent now. I can only assume it's because you too have realised he's just a spoiled brat and you simply don't know where to begin.

Let's hear it. You've been going on forever about how wonderful those two are. I am ready for your detailed defence of this latest dollop of verbal catsick your beloved has bestowed on us all.

MistletoeandBaileys · 13/01/2023 21:43

He’s a fucking lunatic. I’m wondering what the hell is going on behind the scenes.

I mean could Meghan be supporting all this behind the scenes? Or is this a very clever ploy and we will see a conservator ship or divorce on the horizon? It is genuinely like listening to Kanye West. He sounds completely deranged and in needing of serious help.

He’s a nutter. The only children he needs to concern himself with are his own. Because those kids will sure as hell have some stories to tell.

Roussette · 13/01/2023 21:44

Alighttouchonthetiller · 13/01/2023 21:35

You must feel quite beleaguered, Rousette, trying to defend the indefensible. It must get more difficult with every embarrassing revelation and morally corrupt comment from your darling.

If you want a republic, this isn't the way to go about it.

Lol

I'd feel far far far more embarrassed defending this monarchy, unelected, unsupported (by some), paid for with millions, and I don't have a darling!

I just welcome someone from the inside (i.e. Harry) speaking about what it is like.

I'll listen but Royalists won't. It's too painful for them to hear what it's really like.

NestingSparrow · 13/01/2023 21:44

He should stop talking about his brother’s kids.

Alighttouchonthetiller · 13/01/2023 21:47

Rousette, you're trying to make out now you are on some sort of republican crusade, when actually all your previous focus has been on kissing the arses of H and M, not dismantling the monarchy.

Where have I said or have you picked up that 'he's a spoilt brat'?

Why do you say 'my beloved'?

Why do you make this stuff up.

I think he says too much, I think they have made mistakes, I think they are flawed. BUT I know which side I'm on.

I know it's hard for some to take, but my view has not changed. You like to say I don't know where to begin but really.... that is NOT the case.

I am consistent.

Wants to reform the monarchy. Wants to retain his title. Dickhead.

Part, tyre, pair of knickers, socks

Just some names it could be called

Really like? no-one, including you, has any idea what it's 'really like.' But of course, we're all deluded lackeys bowing and scraping. It's only the likes of you enlightened anti-monarchists who have any idea what it's 'really like.'

And don't tell me Spare is in any way shape or form an account of what it's 'really like' because I might just die laughing at the idea that that bears any relation to any form of reality.

Alighttouchonthetiller · 13/01/2023 21:50

is it just Harry and Meghan you listen to, a one sided opinion? I presume you just swallow everything he and Meghan say as gospel. Are you doing anything to promote change on the constitution on practical level out of interest?

On that basis Roussette is one of the monarchy's most fervent supporters as long as it's reformed (details curiously unspecified) by PH.
