Did POW have an affair?

Don't reply if you're a Will and Kate sycophant who believes they walk on water. They get favourable PR these days. I find Harry and Meghan irritating but I heard Harry got bad PR in order to distract from William's alleged affair. I remember reading about Rose Hanbury so wonder if there could be some truth in this.

Perhaps Kate is every bit as ambitious as Meghan and turns a blind eye so one day she can be Queen.

I wouldn't have posted it unless I knew the person and knew it to be true.

So you are in favour of having things scrubbed off the internet or only if it involves mates?

I have explained what happened. Go and tackle those that use it and mean it. Which was not me.

No idea on the mates thing. Don't reply, I am not interested and won't respond.

It strange that people are arguing so heatedly speculating about an event that might have happened between people they don't know! Do we really think if POW had an affair that it wouldn't have featured in Harry Markle's book - Waagh?

Roussette · 24/02/2023 09:43

Thank you @Samcro and I hope MNHQ have a look at my response at what actually happened.

I reported my own post very quickly.

sadly stuff is allowed on the rf topic that would never stand elsewhere.

I have a pretty low opinion of men in general when it comes to monogamy. And like with famous footballers, rock stars, rich filmstars, powerful politicians - men and women too of course) in those socially elevated situations get a lot of attention (from both men and women). It must be intoxicating to have people throwing themselves at you.

It's also really hard to keep it completely a secret when you're in the public eye.

So while I don't think William would be immune to at the very least to drunken flirty casual flings when he's partying. It's telling that there's not the slightest bit of proof. No kiss and tells, no hacked phone calls.

Honestly, I'd be more surprised if he gets to the end of a long life in his position and hasn't had the odd fling at some point but it's hardly a deal breaker for a marriage which works in all the other ways for someone in their position.

I agree

What is the norm for his father and possibly (please note I said 'possibly') his Grandfather.
There's a lot of forgiving within the RF.

Coxspurplepippin · 24/02/2023 19:43

Would you say the same about Harry? It being the norm for his father and possibly his grandfather?

Yep.

Apart from him not being within the RF now. He has escaped it, hasn't he? Like it or not.

I don't think it's because of his family norms - more his class, and having infinite more opportunities because a lot of women (and men) find rich, powerful (or power-adjacent) men very attractive.

Harry isn't less likely to stray because he 'escaped' the royal family - more that he might find his opportunities are less because he's not as power adjacent as he used to be - and I suspect has a lot less disposable income as well.

I actually think Charles is the outlier in respects to his family/class heritage. His affair seems to have been with his soul mate - the one he should have married to begin with.

purpledalmation · 24/02/2023 20:55

It was a pointless rumour started by a friend of Meghan markles friend, or something equally dumb. Somebody Coran? Non news.

Roussette · 24/02/2023 21:12

Why do you say it was Meghan that started it? That's weird. It was nothing to do with her.

beatrice14 · 24/02/2023 21:24

I agree that Harry didn't come off well either - Charles is known to have a violent streak, at least according to several servants' accounts, so possibly William does too? Harry himself admits to attacking his own bodyguard.

Wtf? I never said anything of the sort. It was a baseless rumour tweeted and withdrawn by some journalist named Giles Coran who was loosely connected to the Sussexes, as in moved in the same circles. I'm sure Meghan had nothing to do with it, but GC was at a party with them so may have had a tiny bias when he tweeted (what looks like) a drunken tweet.

"Loosely connected"

I read it different.
When you said it was started by a friend of Meghan's friend, I assumed you meant her.
Apologies if you didn't.
I had no idea GC was friends with Meghan's friends. I've never heard that. I thought it was all Norfolk based

Serenster · 24/02/2023 21:53

Giles Coren is part of the Soho House crowd.Long before the “affair” tweet he wrote about how he was drinking with Harry and Meghan at the opening of Soho House Amsterdam.

Of course 🥱

Serenster · 24/02/2023 22:03

Not sure what the yawning is supposed to mean. Giles Coren wrote about the event, and talking to the Sussexes in his column in the Times? The party was also covered elsewhere - it stretched over 2 nights, with the first being an evening on a barge on the Amsterdam canals.

How lovely for them. And what a reach to suggest they planted this story. 🤐

ThighMistress · 25/02/2023 09:00

I don’t believe Giles Coren (who seems rather desperate) made it up. How would you come up with something like that unless someone told you ?

Soho House and its satellites seem a den of all that is self-regarding and odious. The rumour emanated from there. Meghan has been Soho Housing for some years so has good friends and allies who may or may not have been telling the truth in order to “help” M&H.

Novella4 · 25/02/2023 09:11

It will come out sooner rather than later

purpledalmation · 25/02/2023 09:27

@Roussette No one has said the Sussex couple suggested this lie be spread by Coran. However in the interests of disclosure it's only fair to point out that he may have had a bias towards a couple he and his wife were friendly with?

Why he put out a tweet, then (not quick enough apparently) deleted it is a mystery. Personally I don't think William is stupid enough to have an affair. He is media savvy and can see what it did to his fathers reputation. He want's eventually to be king. Why shit on his own doorstep and risk the monarchy falling?

Hey @ThighMistress You do know that Beatrice also had an affair and her baby has a different father than her husband? There, I've just told you something. Repeat it, put out a tweet then withdraw it.

Grow up.

Pretty bloody awful if Harry was gossiping about his brothers private business to GC. Yet another betrayal if true. What horrible men they both are.

VixenTodd · 25/02/2023 10:04

Remember the scathing article about Catharine written by Jessica Mulroney's sister-in-law when Jessica was BFF with Markle? Somebody has had it in for Kate and William starting around the time Harry hooked up with Meghan. Hmmmmmm

ThighMistress · 25/02/2023 10:19

@purpledalmation eh? I am with others in that I think the rumour is ill-founded but that it started with the Soho House crowd with whom Meghan has been consorting with for years.

I said that it didn’t start with Giles Coren but that someone fed it into his desperate ear.
