Kate you are playing a blinder, keep schtum & keep having the stiff upper lip. The queen would be so proud of you & William right now.
Your silence is speaking volumes. If someone I barely knew attempted to hug me, I would recoil, it's not appropriate as is overfamiliarity.
You have a great circle of friends from childhood & school you can trust who have your back & a wonderful family who raised you beautifully.
Millions of British people are so proud of how you are winning & owing this. Stay strong Kate, you've got this.

Cringing on your behalf

Kate, if you're reading this - you married into a family of parasites. Get a real job.

Second this.

FartOutLoudDay · 10/01/2023 16:54

I think this is the first time I’ve actually laughed out loud at a thread title on MN. Christ.

FallonofDynasty · 10/01/2023 16:56

Thanks OP, appreciated. Kx

Dear lord, if Meghan is on the floor sobbing over a couple of shirty texts from her SIL who's just had a baby, God help her.

I can't believe I'm commenting on this thread but there you go...!

I've just googled the to see what all the fuss was about re the messages. The text exchange published does make Kate seem really unreasonable. And M wasn't sobbing because of that, but because she was dealing with all the shite around her father, and then stroppy messages from her SIL re a bloody dress.

And it's threads with OPs like these that just demonstrate how MM never had a chance.

@oakleaffy the Sussex pair went batshit when Thomas Markle wanted to give his side of the story.. One rule for them everyone else needs to put up or shut up...
Perfectly reasonable for them of course to give their version of events & publish private text messages. They went ballistic when a news paper printed a letter sent to Thomas but sure go ahead & publish private texts. Chavvy behaviour.

Do you actually understand what a chav is?!
i think you can find a better word for that behaviour… I don’t think “chavvy” is it

Staggie · 10/01/2023 16:58

Kateforqueen · 10/01/2023 14:22

Kate said nothing untoward in those text messages. And how odd of H&M to keep those messages for 4 years & publish them. Unclassy, chav behaviour.
As I said above... You got this Kate, keep the head up on the school run, you are fabulous, you know it & the British public know it. Silence is golden.

Do you honestly think she gives two hoots what you or any other peasants think of her?

She's not Mother Theresa.

Preggingswearingleggings · 10/01/2023 16:58

Hi Kate,
I think you're terribly pretty and always very well-dressed. Keep on trucking!

Preggings

Hadjab · 10/01/2023 16:58

Obsequious bullshit.

MoscowMules · 10/01/2023 16:59

HaroldeVwilliam · 10/01/2023 16:51

Moscow to be fair Megan had so much stress around her family as well at that time eg her sisters,dad...paps desperately courting and bribing family to dish the dirt...

Yes point taken, it was probably all a part of why she needed up crying. Maybe these texts were just the straw that broke the camels back 🤷🏻‍♀️

ReneBumsWombats · 10/01/2023 16:59

Hadjab · 10/01/2023 16:58

Obsequious bullshit.

It's actually the very opposite of obsequious...

@JamSandle

DeoForty
OP, have you been out of the house recently? I think you need a brisk walk.

So belitting a poster who actually has something nice to say? Stay classy Mumsnet..."

Re read the OP. Is it nice? Or is it a huge dig at MM who didn't have a "wonderful family" to bring her up properly. The post is the definition of sly bitchiness. Nowt classy there.

I bet you were one of those girls who had to phone a helpline when Take That split up.

Omg I just burst out laughing on a train because this is so fucking true I would put money on op being exactly like that 🤣🤣🤣

knitfastdieyoung · 10/01/2023 17:01

I have absolutely no idea where the truth lies in any of this. But I definitely have more respect for people keeping a dignified silence than for people selling all their private family arguments to a publisher or documentary crew....

DarkDarkNight · 10/01/2023 17:01

The sycophantic tone of the OP has made me feel nauseous. This must be a wind up.

The Duchess of Cambridge gives not one fuck about what us plebs think as long as she continues to get to live in the lap of luxury whilst doing as little work as possible.

Spambod · 10/01/2023 17:02

Anyone reading those text messages needs to take them with a huge pinch of salt. I would also like to see the text messages before this little snippet. Meghan’s messages were rude and aggressive so I dread to think what the ones were that she wasn’t prepared to share.
I object that a then four year old needs to be dragged into this feud by H&M that is so wrong, low and unnecessary.

Pallisers · 10/01/2023 17:02

Oh the irony.

The Take That comment is gold.

HaroldeVwilliam · 10/01/2023 17:03

Probably Moscow.

I cant believe the furore kate made either. All she had to do was go to the tailor who had been arranged and made available to her. It was a non issue. Kate made it an issue by stamping her feet and getting so worked up. Ridiculous behaviour. And the royals want everyone to think that M causes all the drama.

If a dress doesnt fit then just go to get it altered. Especially when it is all arranged for you and you just show up (and dont have the excuse of a job you cant get time off from).

Oh this really made me laugh!

What has become of MN, it has turned into a monarchy fansite!

astarsheis · 10/01/2023 17:04

To me both Kate and her DH never come over as genuine. She always has a smug look about her

Hadjab · 10/01/2023 17:05

ReneBumsWombats · 10/01/2023 16:59

I agree with you there, it's bad enough when your mum tells your friends about a story from your childhood when you had a "strop" as a toddler.

For it to be forever immortalised in a book that when you were 3/4 you cried because your flower dress girl didn't fit for your aunty's wedding. Is harsh on the kid.

We all know what kids are like, what if one of her schoolmates who isn't too nice finds out, will they tease her "you cried because your dress didn't fit" kinda thing. 😳

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 10/01/2023 17:06

You know Catherine (come, come now OP, get it right) despises you (and anyone who writes drivel the like of which I had the misfortune to read as the opening post), don’t you OP?

But I LOVE YOU for writing the most bat shit thread I’ve ever read on MN (been here since 2008 so that’s quite the accolade).

PS. I think the PoW seems status driven and calculating. Not once have I warmed to her. I too would hug a soon to be SIL.

PPS I think her ‘helpful’ directions about the bridesmaids dresses were a masterclass in passive aggressive unpleasantness.

PPPS. I’d not be keen on taking sartorial advice off a woman who makes McQueen look like Karen Millen (she does a fair job in Jenny Packham tbf).
