Kate you are playing a blinder, keep schtum & keep having the stiff upper lip. The queen would be so proud of you & William right now.
Your silence is speaking volumes. If someone I barely knew attempted to hug me, I would recoil, it's not appropriate as is overfamiliarity.
You have a great circle of friends from childhood & school you can trust who have your back & a wonderful family who raised you beautifully.
Millions of British people are so proud of how you are winning & owing this. Stay strong Kate, you've got this.

I bet you were one of those girls who had to phone a helpline when Take That split up.

😂😂

OP you're like Alan Partridge in the car park.

"KATE ... KATE .... KATE ... Maybe she can't hear me ...KATE ... KATE ... KATE" etc

In Harry's book he says that he never knew it was racist to call someone a p* because his family said it all the time and he was upset to find how it's a racist term and he used it.

I've not got to this part of the book yet.
It's uncomfortable reading your comment, if that's what he said I can kind of understand where he's coming from - I grew up in a very white, rural village and people said stuff like Ch**ky for the Chinese takeaway, some still do - I did too even around the age of 20 as I knew no better. Wouldn't dream of it now though after educating myself
I think Harry comes across as the same

He didn't even live with his family, most of the time, when growing up. That's really low of him to blame his family. He would have visits to Charles, etc. I'm sure that his family talked about other things during those planned visits, than who should go to the corner shop.

I agree, red and blue, with your comment about how white people in rural areas used to speak about Chinese takeaways and what they would call them. We have all educated ourselves, and thankfully we know better. I think Harry had been rather more insensitive, by referring to a friend, and describing him as he did. Referring to a shop is somewhat different.

I don't find it impressive that Harry wants to slur his family as he does, and, in this instance, blame them for what he did. He could say nothing. He could write a book about one of his charities or causes. He has chosen to perfect his own image by dragging down others. There isn't a pressing need for his book, and it is sad that he is causing angst to family members, for no good reason.

I worked as a nanny near to Kensington palace, never met anyone from the RF or anyone who was connected to them, but every white mega rich person round there, uses such offensive language about other people. I was sickened what I would hear, such derogatory language used by anyone who had less money than them, I wasn’t a nanny there long.
anyway my point is, I can totally see what he was saying about using the P word, I’ve heard those posh slimy accents say similar myself.

EarlyYearsMe · 14/01/2023 07:29

It’s also why I can totally appreciate them laughing at the nazi costume…

EarlyYearsMe · 14/01/2023 07:29

Not appreciate sorry, I meant I can totally see them laughing at it 🤦🏻‍♀️

OP, you're getting quite a bashing on this thread which is a shame as I think your post was sweet and kind.

She had a had a huge amount of support .maybe one of. Her staff could have done it for her?

Maybe a dressmaker or Ajay had told her....over the phone, perhaps....that you couldn't easily 'alter' the dresses.

None for any of the little girls fitted properly. If you have bias cut and all that, and puckering and what not, and a sheen, it might be difficult to take in or slice bits off.

Technically, you might have had to remake.....even with the same fabric.
