Has anyone ever met Megan?

Out of curiosity as many people are airing views about her. But what is she actually like in the flesh?
I'm not a fan at all but she comes across as lovely when interviewed

Who would assume she was stupid because she was mixed race? Really odd thing to say. As for Kate, think a degree from St Andrew’s is at least equivalent to a degree from Northwestern is it not? Kate’s not worked really but I don’t think Meghan being in a cable TV show is a towering achievement either if I’m honest. Fizz from Corrie has a bigger audience

Not that is matters, but Northwestern is an extremely well regarded and hard to get into American university—much harder to get into than St. Andrews.

I know someone who knew her when she was a teen at school in LA. Very liked by everyone, doing all the soup kitchen stuff with the homeless and part of her school volunteer duties- basically just a 'nice girl' who got on with everyone according to our friend...not one of the mean girls.

ivykaty44 · 10/01/2023 04:45

I have posted on here before and been called a liar!! I have two relatives who work for the RF in one of their homes. From things they have told us, Megan is exactly as William described her...rude and abrasive!

I’ve been told the same by a relative in same position, back in the summer of 2019. Megan was demanding & unpleasant to work around

@Bigdealio
"It takes a narcissist to know one"
Really? I could'nt come across as charming even if I tried, what you see is what you get, a forthright Northerner, not an LA wannabe. I have been reading about what makes a narcissist,
Obsessed with success, grandiosity and the need for power and dominance.
Hypercritical of others, but super sensitive if others criticise them.
Their needs come first. (" Thanks for asking, nobody's asked me how I am" to Tom Bradby in S.Africa)
They have to be admired, fishing for compliments.
They're manipulative, playing on fear and guilt. (Harry's paranoia about their security)
Lack of empathy for the emotional state of others.
Think people are jealous of them.
Acting superior, distorted sense of self esteem.

I am not an expert in narcissisim but re the paranoia about security - did you know that the Daily Mail had a map on their front page on the web that pined their address?

They also ran a another map with a huge arrow pointing to their house and had picture of the front?

MI5 (or is MI6 the domestic one?) said that people went to prison for credible threats against her, and against him for being, amongst other things, a race traitor?

I think the security thing is well justified.

The rest I don;t know as I don;t know them.

I can second that about Northwestern. Actually a lot of people avoid it becasue you have to work hard for your degree!

It is an excellent uni.

I agree, they are totally reasonable about the security.

And we’re back Grin
Yes he was, until she dropped him. She apparently asked to meet somewhere for drinks after he started following her on social media. After a meeting or two it seems she found someone with more clout so didn’t need him any more to promote her status in the UK. I’m guessing at that point he realised the charm and friendliness were fake and she wasn’t such a nice person after all.
And on that note, I don’t think she could be judged on someone meeting her, it would have to be someone that’s known her for a while. I get the impression there aren’t many of those that she is still in touch with.

I think she realised Piers was an idiot and quite rightly cut contact.

Mellymoon · 10/01/2023 06:17

@BradfordGirl the royal family didn’t make the allegations neither did they have any reason at the time to want it to be true- in fact they didn’t want the gossip so your point that they hid the results of the investigation makes no sense.

brainexplorer · 10/01/2023 06:49

Bluekerfuffle · 09/01/2023 21:17

Maybe, but couldn’t she have just told him then instead of the cold shoulder treatment?

How is saying “don’t call me, I think you’re dickish” better than just not responding and hoping he gets the message?!

ReneBumsWombats · 10/01/2023 07:03

No, but a friend met them both. She said they were very polite and seemed very much in love and happy.

Deidretheelf · 10/01/2023 07:12

BradfordGirl · 09/01/2023 15:58

Not true.
Anyone who has worked with her in the past says she is lovely.

Actually, aside from the bullying allegations, there are multiple named people on record saying she is not. Adrian Sington, Reitmans crew, previous agents among others.

I wonder how the queen coped with her paranoia, knowing the world and it’s dog knew the address of Buck Palace. Even had to signal to people that she was in with a flag 🙄

Prometheus · 10/01/2023 07:46

I have a friend who met her when she did a charity visit and said she was lovely. I have a colleague who used to work for her and Harry who said she was a nightmare - they had to sign an NDA though so this person was too afraid to give further details and I won’t write what little detail they gave in case it causes trouble.

How is that even remotely similar? A heavily protected Palace versus a private address with every crackpot knowing after real threats.

We don't even know how many millions the country pays for security of the Royals, we're not allowed to know for security reasons. Funny that. The Monarch is protected beyond comprehension at huge cost to the taxpayer. Which is why if there is ever a breach, it is huge news.

toomuchlaundry · 10/01/2023 07:51

Someone managed to get into the Queen’s bedroom, not that secure!

Do you believe he hasn’t got heavy security?
you know private security can carry a concealed weapon in the states? he's just pissed he has to pay for it

TuttiFrutti · 10/01/2023 07:55

Wasn't there a thread on here months ago, from someone who was the manager of a shop in London where MM had gone in with her friend Jessica Mulroney when she was dating Harry but not yet known, and behaved appallingly? Tried on clothes and threw the items she didn't want on the floor, was rude to all the staff and laughed at them. I think the OP said she had to give some staff time off afterwards because they were so upset at the abuse they got from her.

So did Harry in the Army!

No he wouldn’t have. They’re told discussing military is dangerous but they don’t sign anything like that. Most soldiers don’t want to discuss killing people, it’s not seen as a badge of honour

DogBowlsAreMyWeapon · 10/01/2023 08:02

No, but I knew someone who used to hang out with Charles. My friend was an older, horsey woman… 😂

That's what I just said. The breach was huge news. It was over 40 years ago so hardly a regular occurrence. .

That does rather sound like one of the fairy stories on here. We've actually had... a friend of Doria's, Meghan's nanny, a close friend of Meghan, and someone who cleans for Meghan saying how well they know her. If she was 'not yet known' how would the Manager know it was Meghan?!
I do take that sort of story with a pinch of salt to be honest.

Was it H&M or Topshop?

And Mumsnet really should be awarded a Royal Warrant the number of posters who have a close relation working in Palaces. Grin

Your point - that the queen is heavily protected therefore she would not feel paranoia about people knowing her address of Buck Palace.

The same is applied to Harry. People may know his address but he will also be heavily protected by armed security. So why the paranoia?

keep up

SallyWD · 10/01/2023 08:11

You'd never know what someone is like during a 2 minute meeting. It's so easy for a celeb to say "Hi, how are you? What do you do? Oh really, that's great. So interesting!" and then someone posts on a forum like this "Oh I met xxxxx they were so lovely and warm. Asked all about me. They were genuinely interested in me. Lovely person." It's all complete nonsense! Any celebrity knows how to be charming to the plebs. Particularly royals - it's what they do, their reason d'etre. There'd be no point in them if they couldn't make pleasant small talk with the public.

..and? This really isn't top secret stuff..I'd be pretty sure just about every realtor and taxi driver in that part of the world knows where they live.

I suspect even without the DM or hints from the locals some could work it out by geolocation using images M&H have published.
