Anyone else think Kate is coming across as a bit precious and over-sensitive? Baby brain, lip gloss etc.

I'll start by saying I know there are 2 sides to every story. Also, I'm not a Megan fan. I have no idea what she's like. She might be awful. I neither like her, nor dislike her. I feel the same way about Kate.

But anyway, in light of the stories that Harry is telling, does anyone else feel that Kate (and William) comes across as rather precious and over sensitive?

First of all there's the baby brain incident. Apparently Kate forgot something or made a mistake and Megan responded by saying "Oh don't worry, it's probably the baby brain". Kate then feels insulted by this remark and says something along the lines of "You don't me well enough to comment on my hormones". William joins in by pointing his finger at Megan and saying "It's rude Megan, we don't do that here." I mean seriously?? I think the baby brain remark was completely benign. I'm sure Megan was trying to reassure Kate not to worry about her mistake. Just after having my baby I paid for my shopping and walked out leaving it in the shop. The cashier had to call me back and I apologised. She also said "Don't worry, it's the baby brain". I wasn't at all offended. I was relieved she understood! I certainly didn't think "How dare a stranger comment on my hormones". The irony of William telling Megan off for rudeness whilst pointing his finger at her. I find it far more rude to point in someone's face than to mention baby brain. If I was Megan and had received that reaction to my innocent remark I would have felt humiliated and very upset.

Then there's the lipgloss incident. Megan asked to borrow Kate's lipgloss. Kate lends it to her then gets upset that she dabs it with her finger. I understand some people don't want to share lip gloss but Kate could have said no. I don't understand what's so upsetting about Megan using her finger? If I lent someone my lip gloss I'd insist they used their finger and not their mouth. Apparently the mouth harbours more germs than your average toilet.

Then there's the report that William and Kate were uncomfortable being hugged by Megan. There are literally hundreds of photos of William and Kate hugging random strangers on the internet! Yet when Megan makes this faux pas it's offensive to them.

It seemed like William and Kate expected to be treated with great formality by Megan - as if she was one of their subjects. It also seems that Megan couldn't do anything right! Megan on the other hand perhaps expected a little more intimacy given that they were her partner's family. It doesn't sound like they did much to make her feel comfortable and welcome in to the family. Does anyone agree/disagree?

I think we’ve established who is precious and who isn’t.
MNHQ should implement a poll at 1000 posts on threads here, so we can move on to the next attention seeking stunt H&M do.

And what duty did he have to speak out against footballers suffering racism?

He’s the president of the FA, that comes with the duty.

Exactly. Why can't people understand that statements made and behaviours you would display in the course of your duties as a working royal for charities, orgs etc of which you are patron, are completely different to things you would do in private or statements made on behalf of the family.

Do you think he did a good job with these alterations?

I wouldn’t be happy if I’d brought that from Asda.
Its shocking.

I hadn’t actually appreciated just how bad the hen was until theirs was posted, it’s less obvious when Charlotte is in movement/Tugging the sides etc

Do you think this is well made?

This is what happens when some people prefer a name/designers over something just as well-made (if not better). A good tailor would've made perfect outfits for everyone but it's "Givenchy", so that's all that matters!

On a slightly related note: I've seen many hideous "fashion", especially on the runway, that people rave about, often because it carries a name and not that it actually looked good.

On the other hand, I've seen some people express admiration for an outfit and wanting to know where it's from so they can get it for themselves, only to go "😑oh, well it's not bad" once they realise it isn't a named brand. Suddenly, it isn't worth having anymore.🤣

This is an insta-esque co-ordinated wedding photo. I'd be very surprised if those colours hadn't been pre agreed.

I agree that the colours all look great together. It’s a shame though that apart from H&M all of the adults look like they’ve got very lukewarm smiles, even Doria.

Yes I think everyone can stop debating the colour of the dress! From the family group photo I'm certain there was a theme and the colours were chosen by the bride.

She should have put it directly on her mouth and shared, shouldn't she. Nothing wrong with KM mouth the audacity of the woman.

No, she shouldn’t of asked to borrow bloody last Christmas gloss like a teenager. It’s vile.

BradfordGirl · 10/01/2023 14:36

@SallyWD Meghan and Harry will not have chosen the colour of dress Kate wore.

Which would make it pale yellow. 🤣

You can even see the contrast between her pale yellow jacket and her white/cream underskirt in this picture.

I agree. But a very very pale yellow. It reminds me of those paints you buy that are white with a ting of a certain colour.

Not just him. He is a senior member of an organisation. All of them, HMQE, PC and him should have put their weight behind preventing this racism to one of their own. It's a big institution, it's their duty.

Kate and William come across as a couple of power hungry, egotistical bullies imo. If anything Kate should have been in awe of Meghan not the other way round, since Meg is self made with a successful career and didn’t spend her life waiting around for a Prince to rescue her!

For all those who say Meg is some Z list celeb, she still had a level of success that most struggling actors could only dream of!

I guess maybe that’s the problem, jealousy and feeling threatened.

But there's a definite theme in the family photo. I simply don't believe they all ended up so coordinated by accident! They knew the photos would be shown around the world. I'm sure they discussed colours.

Also as future Queen surely Kate needs to work on her face! I mean she looks so pissed off in many photos of her over recent years….she needs to take some acting lessons from Meg!

Apart from the bit when she married a Prince

The Queen looked pissed off in many photos. It did not matter.
Kate tends to far more do that large open mouthed laugh for photographers.

MIL and I only watched for the wedding dress - MIL was a seamstress - and we both wondered if she just bought a off the peg wedding dress as it fitted so badly - which sounded unlikely but I think Meghan has every right to expect better. She still looked very beautiful but it was very noticeable and next few days many people said similar to us both - so very noticeable.

It really odd approach to put something so bad with your name out there on such a visible platform.

JemimaTiggywinkles · 10/01/2023 14:48

Do you think this is well made?

Perhaps it was a deliberately wonky hem as a fashion statement 😉

Meghan and Harry will not have chosen the colour of dress Kate wore.

Do you think the startlingly good colour coordination on the wedding photos was the result of a random fluke? I think it was fairly obviously planned and I doubt Harry and Meghan were both unaware of the plan, even if they delegated specifics to their staff.

It's a big institution, it's their duty.

The final decision on what statements are and are not made to the press are the responsibility of the head of the organisation, which (at the time) was the Queen. Who Harry and Meghan have repeatedly praised and said they loved. She was the RF CEO, she chose not to issue a statement. Neither I, nor anyone, knows which (if any) of the other senior members agreed with her or disagreed. But it was her choice.

Lol.
I highly doubt that the next queen of England is envious or jealous of a tv actress no one had heard of before she got involved with Harry.

BradfordGirl · 10/01/2023 14:50

@JemimaTiggywinkles It is not a startingly good colour coordination. A dress that can look white was always going to be a controversial choice for a SIL.
If ever anyone asks on here about wearing a dress to a wedding that is a very light colour close to white they are told no.

I've just looked at the photo again. I think all the women were asked to wear light pastel colours.

OP posts:
BradfordGirl · 10/01/2023 14:55

That would make sense. Dorias dress is a light green, Camillas is a light pink. Kates is too light yellow though. It looks white in certain lighting. And looks off white in the official wedding photos.

JemimaTiggywinkles · 10/01/2023 14:57

Of course it was! It looked fabulous in the photo posted upthread. There's just no way it came about through random chance.

pp might turn up in something else to prove a point but they’d be put of favour
