@MoscowMules

Yeah Britney was treated absolutely horridly.

Even watching her these days online on her Instagram (I haven't recently but when I have) is troubling and she hasn't seemed or looked stable unfortunately.

doory · 08/01/2023 23:50

Whatever the rights and wrongs of the Panorama performance she had an agenda and she wanted her version of the 'truth' to be the one accepted

well duh that's literally what everyone does when giving their side! 😆

PerfectYear321 · 08/01/2023 23:46

You should go with what the black people in this situation think, not the white privileged one

Ok fair enough, so does this now mean that Meghan believes the RF are racist but Harry not.

Wonder how tonight's evening meal is going to go if that's the case 😳

Surely they should agree on this, either they are or they are not, a united front?

Jennybeans401 · 08/01/2023 23:50

@Satinwoodlill879 but there's no proof of that, why has everyone 'got it in for him'? It's more rumours and nothing is substantiated. How many people work for the RF, lots. Anyone could leak stories.

MoirasSaggyBundles · 08/01/2023 23:50

@MarshaMelrose

To be honest, Greg already looks like he's feeling that torture just from watching the netflix doc.

Oh he so does, he looks like he'd rather be anywhere else but discussing this nonsense, bless him!

PerfectYear321 · 08/01/2023 23:51

The Clarkson article was a good one to bring up in terms of being abusive and sexist towards Meghan but didn't support his overall argument about the media being unaccountable. In this case, he was widely condemned in the media and social media, The Sun and Clarkson apologised and the article was pulled from The Sun's website.

The backlash only happened because it was literally days after H&M had dropped their docuseries complaining about this kind of treatment so it was very very obvious and blatant and timely.

James OB on Twitter has got it right imo.

Wow. He’s completely together, sorted & clear. Articulate, compassionate, empathetic & at peace. It’s incredible to watch. The maddest thing is that the more he’s boiling your piss, the more you’d benefit from the sort of therapy that’s set him so free.

This might be the most compelling & convincing critique of British media ever provided by someone who really knows what it’s like to be in their jaws. Fascinating & tragic that they have all the papers on display in every palace every day. No wonder they’re so obsessed by it.

James O'Brien is a gobshite.

LivelyBlake · 08/01/2023 23:52

If Harry hates the media, why on earth does he spend a fortune on PR, writes a book full of gossip and gives interviews to people like Oprah?

doory · 08/01/2023 23:52

The Clarkson article was a good one to bring up in terms of being abusive and sexist towards Meghan but didn't support his overall argument about the media being unaccountable.

But wasn't the issue also the silence from the palace?

I don't understand this point? you can hate the media but still want to give your side of the story surely?

Satinwoodlill879 · 08/01/2023 23:53

James O'Brien is a gobshite

He’s a gobshite who makes some very perceptive points.

Were you watching the same interview? He said the Hussey situation sums up the culture within the RF 🤔

Yes, he said she meant no harm and that the same wasn’t offered to him and Meghan. But he’s not saying for what. They’re back and forth on what actually was said. Which would be fine if they wanted to keep it quiet, but they’re not, they’re all over the press themselves. And this situation wasn’t about them.

I absolutely 100% think the press have said many racist things, it’s horrendous. But if they’ve got a beef with their family about this they really either need to give specifics or say nothing at all. And perhaps not make excuses for the situations that don’t involve them.

4thtimeunlucky · 08/01/2023 23:55

Did anyone see that itv news had a correspondent in Montecito? That's a nice jolly for him! There are going to be several US interviews in the next few days but why can't they just watch them on the internet/sky snd then discuss them, like everyone else. Why do they need someone actually there. I'm pretty sure now he's done his Tom Bradby interview that's all the exclusives itv are going to get?

headstone · 08/01/2023 23:55

The only thing I was surprised about was that he came out and supported lady Hussey. I thought that was quite sweet given how cold the place were about dismissing her, William didn’t even mention her name despite her years of loyal service.
other than that it was quite predictable, he says he so happy now but seems so sad. I really hope Meghan doesn’t dump him.

doory · 08/01/2023 23:55

It's truly shocking that they had to do that walk behind Diana & greet people who were mourning for their mother. Why did people think this was ok?

MarshaMelrose · 08/01/2023 23:55

BradfordGirl · 08/01/2023 23:09

Why does he need to answer everything? He is allowed not to reveal all.

🤣🤣🤣 Oh, the irony.

HiHoHiHohoho · 08/01/2023 23:56

I don't either love or hate M and H and watched it with an open mind. I found it quite nauseating. He's obsessive and repetitive and extremely brittle in the face of the most gentle of probing. I think it gave quite an insight into how he might have behaved in the meeting(s) between the brothers and their spouses.

I think the palace are just going "no comment" on everything at the moment that is directly or loosely connected to H and M.

It really is the safest bet for them in the long term.

We all know the palace has a "relationship" with the press, deals are made, things are hidden, start poking the bear and it could bite back.

Safest bet is to leave it in its cave and let the news cycle on.

JudgeJ · 08/01/2023 23:57

BCxx · 08/01/2023 22:28

I’m getting bored, feel like I’ve lost interest. He could mention me at this point and I still don’t think I’d even care.

He’s done way too much moaning. The comment on here about him always being the hero or the victim totally hit the nail on the head

Mention you? Do you collect cherries? Were you in a field behind the pub?

Morestrangethings · 08/01/2023 23:58

PerfectYear321 · 08/01/2023 22:59

How has he backtracked?

It was a concerning comment and still is.

As a white person he said he doesn't know if it's racist or not: maybe it's unconscious bias

As a black person I think it's racist

And the fact all these white people are jumping on this as 'phew he's backracked' is just not surprising to me 🙄🤔

I think it was racist too.

I haven’t been able to watch the interview yet as I am in Australia, (so have to wait until tonight), but I will be very interested to see exactly what Harry is saying about this incident. ‘Unconscious bias’ in this regard is still racist, in my opinion. Just because we aren’t aware we are being racist, does not mean we aren’t being racist.

starfro · 08/01/2023 23:58

Car crash interview.

The big evil "institution" and evil press need to change because they don't always do and say what I want.

Oh and all that juicy racism stuff on Oprah - made up by the press. Nothing to do with what we said.

They leaked a personal conversation. But me releasing a whole book and 6 part Netflix series worth of family happenings isn't hypocrisy and if they don't see it that way it's because they've been got at by the bad guys.

MarshaMelrose · 08/01/2023 23:58

As they were the chosen paper and paid to release advanced excerpts, I guess they would. 💰

saw a few minutes after Happy Valley
and turned over the Pulp Fiction !

Pulp Fiction sounds an ideal subtitle for Spare.

I don't understand this point? you can hate the media but still want to give your side of the story surely?

But that’s what the media does too, give a side of the story.

You cannot be on Oprah and pretend that the media is not going to cover it and give their side of the story. For example, the tabloids picked up the racism allegation that according to Harry tonight, was never made.

If I hated the press as much as Harry I would avoid them at all costs.
