Has anyone’s perception of Meghan changed…

due to Harry’s book?

I think the general consensus so far has been that Harry is emotionally damaged and a bit of a man child/idiot. I’ve also noticed a few comments on here that have said they’re starting to feel a bit sorry for her having to deal with said man child.

It will be interesting to hear other’s opinions on the matter.

I dont feel in the least sorry for her. I think they're as bad as each other. There's no way she didn't read the finished version of his book.

I think they both thought everyone would finally see them for the victims they believe they are when in actual fact the car crash of a book has had the opposite effect

I don't think they're good for each other

Oher · 08/01/2023 17:21

Well no, cos the book ain’t out yet, so I haven’t read it.

I’m certainly not going to change my opinions of anyone based on some out of context quotes stolen from an unpublished work and then mistranslated without the author’s approval and sold by the British press.

WomanhoodIsABirthright · 08/01/2023 17:31

I dont feel sorry for her. She's made her bed, she can lie in it.

Harry always looked so happy before meeting her. Imo she's created this hard-done-by victim by giving him a continously nasty perspective and would him into what he is now.

She doesn't care though, as soon as he's served his purpose for her, she'll fuck him off.

F4chrissakes · 08/01/2023 17:36

Some people, no matter how fortunate they are, just can't be happy or satisfied with their lot in life. He's one of them, so is she.

Rushingfool · 08/01/2023 17:42

I think she wanted to be Michelle Obama or Hilary Clinton, and when she realised that wasn't going to happen from within the RF, she worked on Harry's weaknesses to get them out. I think she's cleverer than him, and he is indeed a spoilt manbaby, a fact which she has used to her advantage. However, I also think Willy has a temper, and that Kate is a queen bee.

diamondpony80 · 08/01/2023 17:57

I felt a bit sorry for them after watching the Netflix documentary. Sounds like the media really hounded them and much of the reporting on her was unfair. Overall it made me understand a bit more why they did what they did. I think if they’d left it at that they’d actually be doing pretty well.

However, Harry’s book is a whole different ball game. It’s made him look immature and ridiculous. So many petty things that we’d be better off not knowing. I would feel sorry for any woman who has the misfortune of ending up with a guy like this. But Meghan’s not stupid, and I do think she used his insecurities and his bitterness about his past and his family to get what she wanted too.

noooope · 08/01/2023 18:25

No my opinion hasn't changed about them. I see Harry as an ignorant and spoiled brat who has been coddled by the British public for losing his mum in a tragic way and I see her as minor showbiz actress who has grifted all her life in that showbiz world and is still grifting. She was never going to mould into the royal family from day 1 which was obvious but it did help her raise her profile. I don't think they will last as a married couple and we will hear about a divorce maybe not soon but I doubt she will stay with someone like Harry. The relationship from her side is transactional. Now that they have sold everything they possibly could by letting off their chest, I don't think she will stay content.

OhIdoLike2bBesideTheSeaside · 08/01/2023 18:31

Not at all
I think she's engineered the whole lot for money and he's just an idiot going along with it all

Woodenheart33 · 08/01/2023 18:35

I don't much care for either of them or the royal family in general. On a human level I always wondered why she was with him given is rather obvious intellectual and personal deficiencies. I find it rather unlikely she has much repect for him in those regards and I don't think you can love someone as a spouse you don't deeply respect. The only thing I can imagine is that she was blinded by his position and britishness.

100Titbits · 08/01/2023 18:44

The media tend to take quotes out of context. I certainly don't trust what is said in the press because it suits them to go for explosive headlines to attract readers.
I think that the book will prove to be quite different to what has been portrayed so far.

fatfacemumma · 08/01/2023 18:58

No. She is loving this.....

spanieleyes · 08/01/2023 19:09

@100Titbits
But the quotes we already have will be the ones that are remembered!

StormzyinaTCup · 08/01/2023 10:39

Going by the comment in the cut:

'You never move one without the other,'" she told The Cut. "That's me and Harry. We're like salt and pepper. We always move together."

I'd think it very likely Meghan read and approved the final draft.

Of course she did. I do feel sorry fir her though, I didn't realise he was this much of a dick. Although I haven't read it and getting excerpts without context from the tabloids is hardly going to be flattering

Bagsundermyeyestoday · 08/01/2023 19:12

Somebatshitteryonhere · 08/01/2023 10:49

Because nearly every single interesting part is quoted in the press. No need to read it. It is certainly not just some highlights, it’s even on the news!

Context is everything

The press tend to take quotes out of context. I think that book will prove to be quite different to what the press want us to believe.

The two pages with quotes about the taliban have already been published on twitter...absolutely nothing out of context there! Also there is absolutely no excuse for revealing his brother's medical details and the fact that his father uses a teddy bear for comfort after his bullying as a child! There is no context in which that would be acceptable.

User135644 · 08/01/2023 19:16

People like Meghan need to be married to someone they can control.

100Titbits · 08/01/2023 19:17

@Somebatshitteryonhere
That is what's so unfortunate.

User135644 · 08/01/2023 19:19

7Worfs · 08/01/2023 09:55

No.
The whole navel-gazing and re-examining his entire life (and every single interaction with William, Kate, Charles) and rewriting history where he is always victimised by his family coincided with MM entering his life.
She turned him from a spoiled, partying lad into a paranoid, angry shell of a human. He is now somehow convinced his whole life up until he met her was a lie and everyone is out to get him.

I think he's been monumentally gaslit. Flip the genders and MN would be screaming that it's an abusive relationship.

Agree. It's like the Netflix promo, the actual show was completely different, yet everyone had already drawn their own conclusions

100Titbits · 08/01/2023 19:23

Absolutely.

100Titbits · 08/01/2023 19:24

Well said!

DogBowlsAreMyWeapon · 08/01/2023 19:27

Can anyone suggest the heavyweight context for arse in a dog bowl/frozen cock/mounting a horsey lady?

I think loads of people felt sorry for them in a weirdly uncritical way after watching the six-episode ad for them that they created - it's PR! If you take a step back and look at how the UK media treat literally anyone in the public eye you can see they play favourites and that it's possible to earn their respect. Meghan seems to be very impatient and wanted everything to fall into her lap immediately. That's not how it works. I'm not British but live in the UK and it's a very different kind of culture here that she needed to understand and accept instead of flouncing. But I think Harry's obsessive need for everyone else to adore her the way he does is a sign of something very unhealthy in him. I fear it will all end in tragedy.

LuluBlakey1 · 08/01/2023 19:35

I don't feel even a tiny bit sorry for either of them. Very rich, very privileged, very entitled, whiny people with absolutely nothing to whine about but keen to earn millions more exploiting their lives and his family. Both old enough to know much better in terms of behaviour and taking responsibility for the decisions they make. They seem to expect money for old rope and think standing in front of a camera promoting stuff is work. They are not far off the Kardashions.
