due to Harry’s book?

I think the general consensus so far has been that Harry is emotionally damaged and a bit of a man child/idiot. I’ve also noticed a few comments on here that have said they’re starting to feel a bit sorry for her having to deal with said man child.

It will be interesting to hear other’s opinions on the matter.

Nope. She’s been fake as fuck since day 1.

“Is he kind?”

no. He’s a petulant little man child with an Oedipus complex, £30 million in the bank, a Prince of the realm with more money and luxury than you could ever imagine.

HoppingAndHoping · 08/01/2023 12:38

Well...some of the revelation in Harry’s book portray him in a really bad light/make it seem as if he lacks character and a morals.

I was rather sympathetic in regards to her treatment by the press. That hasn't changed.

With the book... Well, that depends on her eol, doesn't it...

  1. She had no part in it. => shouldn't really reflect on her.
  2. She read it and was okay with it/liked it or maybe even encouraged the content from the onset => a lack of morals on her part imo.
  3. she was opposed to the publishing of certain details etc. but couldn't stop it. => I'd feel sorry for her in that case...
SnowlayRoundabout · 08/01/2023 12:55

I'm pretty neutral about her because I don't really know enough about her. So far as the book is concerned, I think the responsibility is all on Harry because he's a grown man with access to plenty of advisers. Even if Meghan encouraged any of it, ultimately the decisions about what to include or not to include presumably came from him.

Moonlightdust · 08/01/2023 12:56

Yes. It dislike her even more.

I'm not a fan of the Royal family but liked meghan joining them. It was nice to see Harry married, and meghan brought diversity to the family. I was surprised when Harry and meghan left, but applauded them for doing what they desired. Since the Oprah show, Netflix and the book, I actually dislike them both. Harry is behaving like a spoilt, unintelligent, man child. He's constantly whining about his terrible life of luxury and opportunities. I actually feel incredibly embarrased for him. What is he thinking?! He needs to be quiet and stay out of the public eye, hopefully people will forget about him.

I've not read the book

Same.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 08/01/2023 13:07

Yes, dislike her even more. I can't see how she had no input into the book as they seem to pride themselves on being inseparable and operating as one mind.

DogBowlsAreMyWeapon · 08/01/2023 13:08

I rather despair if anyone who actually thinks she’s “extremely intelligent”. It’s quite erm… naive. Although I suppose it depends also upon your baseline.

MistletoeandBaileys · 08/01/2023 13:09

I’ve felt bucket loads of sympathy for her. I don’t agree with obvious lies she’s come out with over the years but I also believe Harry didn’t prepare her for what she would be taking on.

She will forever be compared to the ghost of his mother and that has to be completely exhausting. His actions while she was in labour with Archie is awful. Sure everyone tries a bit of gas but the way he carried on he seemed to need a fix or something.

I think she will leave him. She should probably have left after Archie’s birth. I think maybe he has been feeding her lies too who knows.

Whotsit · 08/01/2023 13:11

I’ve always felt neutral about them but irritated by the press. Nothings changed. The book was what I expected.

DogBowlsAreMyWeapon · 08/01/2023 13:11

Literally NOBODY is comparing her to his ghost of a mother.

nobody.

except themselves.

H2bow · 08/01/2023 13:12

I think she's always recieved an unfair portion of blame for his behaviour when there's been plenty of interviews he's given over the years which say how much he hates the media and feels confined by royal life. He's been shown to have a temper and a nasty streak, which he has reaffirmed in his book is indeed the truth. I do think she has purposefully unlocked this side of him though for her own gain (money) as its not normal to wear your perspective partners dead mothers perfume on a date, or to try and distress them with something you know if a fear of theirs (the paparazzi in the netflix doc when there's one moped there and she's stirring it up).

blubberyboo · 08/01/2023 13:13

I feel deep disappointment that she didn’t stick it out longer until she figured out what royalty was all about and the absolute influence she could have had over time on important causes.

that Harry didn’t help her more and that she ended up obsessed more firstly with the celebrity of it all and now seemingly with the destruction of it.

I think she now believes she can influence the abolition of the monarchy in favour of an American system, and I suppose being raised American she doesn’t know any better so what more could we expect from her.

Ooopsi · 08/01/2023 13:13

I actually really liked her in the beginning then the Oprah interview came out and I was like ok I get it, but still really liked her!

i watched the Netflix documentary and it really changed my mind and now I’m not keen on her ( but I find her really cringey but not sure if that’s just because I find most Americans cringe)

H2bow · 08/01/2023 13:13

Lmao behave, the only people who keep mentioning Diana are her and Harry.

This. Nobody has ever compared M to Diana apart from M and H. I think M would love to be like Diana and is deeply disappointed that she's not as admired as Diana was.

Teatime55 · 08/01/2023 13:17

I think she’s done a job on him. I think this probably about obsessing about every single thing about his family has broken him. Things happen, people fight, there are things that are unfair, parents chose the wrong thing. It doesn’t always mean something. It’s life. Sounds like he has been hyper analysing his life looking for negativity. And she’s behind him pushing this along.
I think the idea that life would have been perfect and brilliant if Diana hadn’t died is dangerous. We know she was a complicated woman and desperate for public attention herself. I can’t imagine life would have been simple.

I actually find the clip where she compares meeting the queen to going to Medieval Times offensive. Lots of cultures and countries have ceremonies and rules when you meet royalty or leaders, I’m sure there are rules when you meet the Obamas about addressing them.
Yes Harry should have warned her. She could have also spent half and hour on the internet looking some stuff up. It’s not like Diana not knowing that the royal family didn’t do real Christmas presents, this stuff is in the public domain.

ImBlueDab · 08/01/2023 13:19

I think she married him for his status and money more so now, as he's clearly got major issues. I know women get involved with men with issues to try to 'fix them' but I doubt this was the case

Politicalwonderer · 08/01/2023 13:28

Feelings have changed in the sense that she rates much lower than she originally did in my book now. It’s clear she has pushed this book and encouraged Harry to play the victim. Having read the book (revenge by Tom Brown I think) I look at everything she does/says with a different lense now. I predict a messy divorce and Harry coming crawling back in a few years time.

Jean67 · 08/01/2023 13:28

I liked her. I thought she looked stunning at their wedding and I thought it was a joyful occasion. I remember the pride on Charles's face as he walked her down the aisle and the warmth with which he embraced her mother. And then I saw her arrive at Eugenie's wedding with her coat buttoned up in such a way that immediately all media attention turned to her, speculating on whether she was pregnant. And alarm bells rang. As someone who has been a victim of a narcissist I saw her in a new light. Nothing I've seen since has changed my view, only reinforced it.

I'm not sure what will happen now. Harry has made a twit of himself and she won't want him to hold her back. I hope they stay together but I'm not sure.

bloodyplanes · 08/01/2023 13:28

He has always been a damaged, spoilt brat but she has encouraged and enabled this for her own ends! The result is what we are seeing now!

coodawoodashooda · 08/01/2023 13:29

7Worfs · 08/01/2023 09:55

No.
The whole navel-gazing and re-examining his entire life (and every single interaction with William, Kate, Charles) and rewriting history where he is always victimised by his family coincided with MM entering his life.
She turned him from a spoiled, partying lad into a paranoid, angry shell of a human. He is now somehow convinced his whole life up until he met her was a lie and everyone is out to get him.

That's a really good post.

I forgot about that 'oh so innocent' coat thing.

YourWinter · 08/01/2023 13:32

I think all this has always been part of her master plan. He may have been the only person daft enough to believe she loved him and wasn’t just using him.
