In the Telegraph today got to be worth a thread of its own. She is of course right !

OP posts:
BellePeppa · 08/01/2023 08:55

I’ve forgotten all about Meghan since the headlines about Harry. I think Meghan is an easily forgettable person. Because of Harry’s connection to the RF there will always be interest there but honestly Meghan can very easily be yesterday’s news.

oakleaffy · 08/01/2023 08:55

“Seems slightly deranged”

Big difference to “ Being deranged”.

Choconut · 08/01/2023 08:52

I think they missed the point that Harry's book had just been leaked to the press and that the stuff he came out with when supposedly they wanted their privacy was unbelievable. People were discussing how he lost his virginity because he had put it in the book in grim detail - but as usual not naming any names - thus leaving everyone to speculate. All these threads haven't been about hating MM they've been about his 'revelations'.

I love how they have to explain that TERF is an insult though.

As has been corrected at least 250 times on this site, and probably 6000 times in the press, Harry and Meghan NEVER said they wanted their privacy, @Choconut . Is there anyone left in this world that doesn't know that, by now?

theDudesmummy · 08/01/2023 09:00

I have not rtft but read the transcript of the article. Does it really say "cis [heterosexual] women" ?????

He definitely said he didn’t want to live in a fish bowl anymore though. Can we honestly say he’s striven to get away from that in his new life? I’ve seen and heard him way more since he left than when he was in the U.K.

ittakes2 · 08/01/2023 09:03

It never seems like a good idea to insult part of your client base...?

Mezmer · 08/01/2023 09:04

Really this thread is not about Meghan. It’s not. Really. It’s about the person who is making a lot of money out of what we spew out on a daily basis and her rather snobbish attitude to us.

Perhaps princess Justine should have kept her mouth shut like Prince Harry and kept her private views private.

After all, we are the reason she is where she is today.

It’s not a good look Justine.

Oldfox · 08/01/2023 09:05

Perfectlystill · 08/01/2023 07:15

Meghan is a terrible person. Weird that Justine doesn't seem a fan of free speech.

And you know this from first hand experience, and not what the tabloids have fed you?

She's quite often shown contempt for the (mainly) women who use her site and pay her giant salary. This interview doesn't surprise me, sadly.

Well, they could at have been honest about what they did want, couldn't they?

'We want to make loads and loads of cash, not by using any talent/skill but by monetising our royal connections for all they're worth'.

Would have been crystal clear then 😁

True 😬

Coxspurplepippin · 08/01/2023 09:10

IAmWomanHearMeRoar1, I think one of the trailers for one Of Harry's upcoming interviews has him mentioning their quest for privacy, so if they didn't say it before, he seems to have confirmed it now.

Oldfox · 08/01/2023 09:05

That old tripe is pure misogyny against women in general. It is not Kate got off better than Meghan. The Daily Mail ran articles about 'where is Kate's baby bump' at 6 month's pregnant, saying it was too small, and there were a lot of hurtful comments www.glamour.com/story/people-are-actually-shaming-kate-middleton-baby-bump
"Really, Is she pregnant?"
"[She] doesn’t even look pregnant."
"Of course she doesn't look pregnant."
"She hardly looks preg!"
"I can't believe she's prego, she looks too thin."
"Malnourished anorexic"
"Emaciated"

SirChenjins · 08/01/2023 09:17

Wowser Shock is that actually what she said, or has it been filtered through Spanish interpreters and lost in translation? If the former then it’s a bit of a middle finger to women who use MN (and in turn make her money).

YetAnotherSpartacus · 08/01/2023 09:18

I agree with Justine on this one!

creamcoffee · 08/01/2023 09:19

well she has to say that
these are not her opinions

YetAnotherSpartacus · 08/01/2023 09:20

Having said that, it's interesting that many awful comments are allowed to stand when the 'trans debate' is so heavily policed and even gentle criticisms of individuals are removed.

creamcoffee · 08/01/2023 09:20

it is a bit of a crisis for MNHQ, all these posts.
they are on crisis management and this is one of them.

Kitcaterpillar · 08/01/2023 09:22

She is right.

I never mention it because people post in the Royal Family forums and that's their business I guess. But if I click one by accident, holy wow. I wish they could be taken off the 'current' page really because even the titles make me feel a bit despairing.

creamcoffee · 08/01/2023 09:25

she is quoted as saying 90% is very supportive

how is she showing contempt?

AreOttersJustWetCats · 08/01/2023 09:28

BethDuttonsTwin · 08/01/2023 07:31

Except all the posts in the past few days have been about…Harry.

Did you miss the threads accusing Meghan of all sorts because she asked to borrow a lip gloss?

ShamedBySiri · 08/01/2023 09:28

Charley50 · 08/01/2023 08:22

My takeaway from that is she never reads the feminism threads if she believes 'trans women' are as vulnerable as 'cis' (sic) women in women's prisons.

Considering "Radicalised by Mumsnet" is a badge of honour (where do users get the actual badges ?) amongst some, and the free advertising that brings it's a shame she doesn't appear to have understood the arguments which are often very eloquently explained.
I think many women reject "cis" for instance even if they don't fully understand it and aren't avid Mumsnet FWR followers.

oviraptor21 · 08/01/2023 09:29

BethDuttonsTwin · 08/01/2023 07:52

I’ve always thought that.

I don't think she likes the vitriolic nasty ones much. I'm with her on that.

NerrSnerr · 08/01/2023 09:30

What I find odd is that the people who clearly are Meghan and Harry obsessed who read every article, examine every picture and video (and are body language experts) don't have the insight into how obsessive they are. They really think it's normal.

It feels like many people take it very personally- I suspect that many of the main obsessives live in some fantasy world where they pretend to be Katherine or a friend or something and this is what fuels the obsession and why they take it so personally.

ManyNameChanges · 08/01/2023 09:31

She is right.

If you look at the threads in Trending it was all about MM etc…
Have you ever seen that level of concentrated attention on anything else (bar covid during the first lockdown)?

Nope
Not for the NHS and the people dying for lack of care
Not for the amount if food banks and the people using them
Not the amount of children living in poverty
Not for our liberties getting decimated
Not for the cost if living and energy companies making millions out of tax payers money

Not for anything that really matters for our day to day life but fir gossiping on a book they haven’t read.
So they are actually NOT in a place if commenting on.
