Two brothers have fallen out, with one leaving the family business to go and live with his wife in her country.

That's it.

The only reason the spin off stuff (books, TV, interviews) happens is because all of you provide an audience for it.

Switch off and it will end, keep on engaging and YOU keep it going.

Unless of course you all actually enjoy the faux outrage Wink

Devastating response from another person who's so bored they're still here.

Oh. It wasn't a yawn emoji. It was a snigger.
🤭 = snigger

🥱 = yawn

Now I don't think you're quite as funny. 🙃

My apologies.

Come and let's be boring tricoteuses together. The only problem is that this whole thing is so distracting that I keep dropping stitches.

JaneJeffer · 08/01/2023 19:29

Off with your head @ReneBumsWombats

You keep knitting, Madame Dafarge. I fear the actual book will have a lot more charm about it so our fun times will soon be over. 😢

I'm here for a good time, not a long time.

Agree with you 10000%

vera99 · 09/01/2023 02:13

Actually the trichoteuses were revolutionary working class anti-monarchists celebrating the executions of the ancien regime members. So if you are part of the anti-Harry pile on you will sadly have to give up that unearned badge.

My great by several times grandmother was actually a monarchist spy and helped the nobility to escape by gumming up the guillotine works. She worked under the code name, The Purple Tulip. I am a tricoteuse by descent if not design and claim the right to carry on the family tradition.

😁Come the crackdown I'll be gone in the first wave of arrests dissapeared into the gulag. "But it was only Mumsnet , I had too much time on my hands , I never did CelebBitchy...."

The horrible thing about the Two Minutes Hate was not that one was obliged to act a part, but, on the contrary, that it was impossible to avoid joining in. Within thirty seconds any pretence was always unnecessary. A hideous ecstasy of fear and vindictiveness, a desire to kill, to torture, to smash faces in with a sledge-hammer, seemed to flow through the whole group of people like an electric current, turning one even against one's will into a grimacing, screaming lunatic. And yet the rage that one felt was an abstract, undirected emotion which could be switched from one object to another like the flame of a blowlamp.

Celebitchy!!!! 😖 You condemn yourself from your own mouth, sirrah. I'm oiling a blade as we speak.

They seek her here, they seek her there...

To just know about CelebBitchy is to commit a thought crime. Them's the rules...

Exactly. Until that demned Baroness Orczy came along and made it into a him. HIM. Ugh. And changed the words. Here are the original ones, handed down from grandmama.

They seek her here,
they seek her there,
They can't find her,
They're going spare.
Will they catch her?
She as smart as a whip.
That demned elusive
Purple Tulip.

And the beauty of this version is it doesn't scan. Deliberately. 🙂

Signed, The....

Thought + celebitchy = oxymoron

Sigh. I used to live that site before Kaiser started.

I shall have to defer to your greater knowledge of the nether regions of 'tinternet.

mixedrecycling · 09/01/2023 07:00

Which reminds me, must dig out the yarn and get a new project on the needles. I have a choice between a dark green mohair and a wool blend in muted heather tones. Which would be better for an aspiring tricoteuse?

@MarshaMelrose if you could channel the Purple Tulip I would be grateful for her advice 😁

BTW it is possible to be both republican AND think H is an entitled and self-obsessed person. Especially given he continues to state his belief in the monarchy, use the titles etc He is no republican hero.

JaneJeffer · 09/01/2023 08:18

They seek him here
They seek him there
But of some facts are unaware
He wears a dress and likes to knit
And uses the Ladies for a shit
He's your grandmama and grandpapa as well
That gender fluid pimpernel

You lot are nuts

Heather = purple = the colour of royalty, plus the king is patron of the Campaign for Wool so I think the mohair is a safer bet if you don’t want to get on the wrong side of your fellow revolutionaries.

mixedrecycling · 09/01/2023 09:54

Oooh, good points. I'm glad I asked, it could all have gone horribly wrong and I could have been hauled up in front of the Committee of Public Safety myself!
