Harry reveals Charles carries a teddy because of childhood bullying

According to Maureen Callahan, Harry writes that Charles takes his childhood teddy bear everywhere due to the emotional scars he bears from childhood bullying.

As she writes: "Know what's pitiful? Taking the private pain and vulnerabilities of those closest to you, [and] mocking them for public consumption and profit."

That is not Harry's story to tell. It is Charles. It is intensely private.

Furthermore, I don't want to know that William is circumcised, how or where or why Harry lost his virginity, that H is fixated on his "mummy", that he thinks Meghan is "magic" and why, none of it.

Harry is intensely sick. The resentments he harbors, the overwhelming jealousy, the rage, the appalling lack of character and intellect. He’s really showing himself up.

Wow this is THE KING? who also happens to be a human being. Harry is a disgrace.

Facecream · 06/01/2023 16:54

I meant it’s a pathetic attempt by H to humiliate his father. There’s zero need for that

oakleaffy · 06/01/2023 17:00

Harry is vile.
Meghan morphed him inti a hideous, telltale brat.

It is old news about Charles’s Teddy and how it goes everywhere with him.

i remember reading about how his valet always put it into the bed in Charles’s dressing room, with its paws tucked over the bedding.

I think that is really sad and a very human reaction. By all accounts Charles’ time in Gordonstoun was horrendous.

Megan1992xx · 06/01/2023 17:01

I have my teddy to hand at home, my mother in her last days of life got enormous comfort from the teddy provided to her.
This shows H's sheer lack of compassion and humanity. A broken necklace is more important than 25 lives.
A slight about 'baby brain' is just friendly banter, a row about bridesmaid dresses, seating plans is cause for a world war.

mymeatballsmymeatballs · 06/01/2023 17:02

Is he hoping to gain sympathy from the public for these revelations? Because I think the exact opposite will happen. I feel so sad for Charles and William. It must be so upsetting to have your private lives laid bare like this. Surely there's no going back for Harry now, he'll lose his whole family and for what? He's an idiot.

Fladdermus · 06/01/2023 17:04

Harry is either mentally I’ll or extremely dim, or both.

Or maybe he's an arrogant, selfish prick who just doesn't give a shit about anyone else.

The bloated egos of Harry and Meghan are off the scale awful.

PicturesOfDogs · 06/01/2023 17:11

Honestly?!? Fucking hell.

Off with his head.
This man needs to be made persona non grata with immediate effect.

NeighHarold · 06/01/2023 17:12

It's been known for years about Charles and his teddy.
Harold is coming across as desperate to paint everyone but himself in a bad light.
So much for being a MH champion.

He won't face any legal action, but he'll lose a lot of respect amongst serving, and former, members of the armed forces. DH is ex-RAF and BIL is ex-Royal Marine, both think H is an absolute idiot (reader, stronger terms were used!) for talking in that way about his time in Afghanistan. It's just not the way you behave.

DH has done tours of Afghan and Iraq, though being RAF he was behind the wire most of the time, but I have no idea if he ever had cause to fire his weapon, neither do I want to know. BIL has never said anything about his tour in Helmand, though I am sure he inflicted casualties as his company frequently came under fire while on patrol and he lost two friends to an RPG attack.

I wonder where this leaves H with the Invictus Games. His comments will not sit well with many of the competitors.

Exactly. Don't forget, Harry has already massively snubbed the military by sacking off a regimental dinner in order to pimp Meghan out to do voice overs. My father served in the forces for ten years, he's horrified that Harry would openly count his kills. Totally unbecoming for an ex officer and a supposed gentleman.

forgotmyusername1 · 06/01/2023 17:15

and yet they won't speak to Meghan's father as he kept talking to the press... the irony

I want to know why William is circumcised and Harry isn’t.

How do you know he isn't?

What's it got to do with you?

IIRC Harry's very concerned about mental health issues - just not his family's. Despicable little shit.

Despicable little shit.
^^This.

Doesn't much care about others' mental health, does he?

I wish someone would interview him properly and challenge all this vitriol

Nanny0gg · 06/01/2023 17:21

This is truly pathetic. I don’t see how Meghan has anything to do with this because he sounds like he’s now on full on meltdown mode and she’s probably thinking who the fuck did I marry? I mean, the jovial, charming, caring guy who just wanted to protect her from whatever is a far cry from this guy… at least as far as the book is being reported.
I know most of MN/Britain etc think it’s all her but I suspect she was bit starry eyed over his do-good stance/reformed naughty boy and now he’s not even that any more.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with them fucking off to the USA, they clearly weren’t happy in the RF, however silly or mistaken Meghan was there’s nothing to show she’s the calculating demon she’s professed to be.
He, on the other hand, looks like he’s a walking advert for the failure of therapy and having a loving wife…
Charles did have a shit childhood. But he wasn’t the best parent.. and those who are fucked up undoubtedly fuck others up a bit

I don't think any of this is Meghan. I think it's the spoilt little princeling.

I'm just sorry she isn't either willing or able to rein him in.

I still have my childhood teddy
lots of people do.
No shame in it.

Harry is just making himself look ghastly- A tittle tattler for money.
Selling out the family for money.

I have way more empathy for Charles, William and Catherine now.

King not allowed a teddy bear then?

Same... I have no time for the royal family normally but they are behaving with dignity under extreme provocation.
The mental health charities Harry is associated with should distance themselves now. What he is doing is borderline bullying - throwing highly personal and harsh words around knowing that they will be painful but the recipinets will feel unable to defend themselves.

Exactly. A human being who has a comforting object that he has kept his entire life to help him deal with being bullied. A literal comfort that has become a talisman over time. Mocking that is pretty inhumane.

Harry also keeps a lock of his mother’s hair in a box on his bedside table. Are you going to mock that too?

Maireas · 06/01/2023 17:42

You know what? The other stuff is ludicrous, silly and self absorbed, but this? Cruel.

CoffeandTiaMaria · 06/01/2023 17:49

He’s certainly showing what a vicious, spiteful, vindictive bully he is (and presumably backed up by his wife who, oddly, seems to be keeping remarkably quiet)
He’s completely burnt any likelihood of reconciliation now surely L

JustMerkinYourChain · 06/01/2023 17:52

Actually, as much as I’ve had such a giggle reading the extracts, this one has made me a bit sad. I think it could have been left out. You would think that Harry as much as anyone would understand the sad child within some grown ups, and becoming a parent ourselves, usually allows us empathy to some of the less brilliant sides of our own parents. So yeah, this is a bit sad.

and the problem with this is - what?

nothing wrong with having a source of comfort.
