Harry reveals Charles carries a teddy because of childhood bullying

According to Maureen Callahan, Harry writes that Charles takes his childhood teddy bear everywhere due to the emotional scars he bears from childhood bullying.

As she writes: "Know what's pitiful? Taking the private pain and vulnerabilities of those closest to you, [and] mocking them for public consumption and profit."

That is not Harry's story to tell. It is Charles. It is intensely private.

Furthermore, I don't want to know that William is circumcised, how or where or why Harry lost his virginity, that H is fixated on his "mummy", that he thinks Meghan is "magic" and why, none of it.

Harry is intensely sick. The resentments he harbors, the overwhelming jealousy, the rage, the appalling lack of character and intellect. He’s really showing himself up.

I actually feel sorry for his father ,Harry's
It think it's quite humiliating stuff, inviting mockery saying stuff like that isn't it in public domain,

Also Circumisation is a private medical procedure

Prince Harry is such a Hypocrite and his misses to reveal such intimate personal stuff as this,
As a member of his family,
He really has no right to to reveal such personal stuff as this,

Harry needs help seriously of some kind

AliceOlive · 06/01/2023 19:11

The Kennedy Foundation should rethink the Ripple of Hope Award, after Harry has mocked his father for a private comfort and his brother for his hairline. This is not leadership. This is not promoting mental health.

Maireas · 06/01/2023 19:13

Wasn't the Kennedy award also for challenging racism in the royal family?
Any more revelations about the racist?...

CPL593H · 06/01/2023 19:15

We know Charles is a very privileged man who has made a lot of mistakes. We also know he was bullied at Gordonstoun. Thinking about him and his teddy has made me quite sad. This will backfire on Harry, like so much of this ill advised book seems certain to.

Yeah yeah yeah and if that was about Harry you lot would be here cackling over it.

I doubt that very much. I suspect most people know that a teddy bear can be such a huge part of a child’s life that as they grow older there’s a sanctity surrounding it and it’s one of those things we don’t really talk about.

creamcoffee · 06/01/2023 19:20

the broadcasting over the amount of taliban he killed is also despicable

Atethehalloweenchocs · 06/01/2023 19:22

Was at uni with a lot of very upper class people - a lot of them had childhood teddies and still have them long after we have left. It is quite a thing it seems.

You say "he's sick" - I believe he is, very sick. Possibly a combination of losing his mum in the way he did and PTSD, I don't profess to know but to me it seems reasonable.
AND YET, You are happy to pile on.

YOU SAY - "I don't need to know all these things"
AND YET you feel compelled to list them
Weirdly, I'm not particularly interested either and can easily avoid the clickbait.

What is less easy to avoid, without leaving this forum, that I otherwise enjoy, is people like you posting, posting and posting about the ramblings of someone who at best is ignored and probably needs intense help, which he is not, at this time, getting or ready to accept.

Two faced or what

itsnotmeitisactuallyyou · 06/01/2023 19:24

I thought it was Andy who had tempers trantums over his teddys

Youcunnyfunt · 06/01/2023 19:26

Oh. That actually makes me feel so bad for Charles. I want to give him a hug! 🥹

Bad Harry.

His behaviour sort of reminds me of my brother when he was developing a serious mental health condition last year. He became spiteful, paranoid, lost his filter, and bitched constantly about his siblings. We realised something was very wrong, and eventually as his behaviour escalated we managed to get a mental health crisis team involved.
I am honestly seeing so many parallels.

This . I too have a mentally unwell brother and I see the same similarities. I think he's very unwell.

creamcoffee · 06/01/2023 19:39

he lost his mother
he is not the only person who this happened to and i imagine she wasnt in his life all that much
and i believe she was a bit loopy
why on earth did anyone write this wretched book?

Perhaps the people close to him, who could have actually advised him, should be held to a higher moral account for this than posters commenting on Mumsnet about the book he created and is being paid multiple millions of pounds for.

creamcoffee · 06/01/2023 19:43

apparently H & M have a big following and think this book is great.

creamcoffee · 06/01/2023 19:43

in America I mean they have a big following

Wibbly1008 · 06/01/2023 19:45

Oh god it’s awful. Harry really deserved that dog bowl.

I don't really think so. At least no one ever mentions them to me.

toocold54 · 06/01/2023 20:12

How do you even know all of this stuff?

If you don’t like him then stop reading or listening to everything he says.

RedBea · 06/01/2023 20:16

.

I agree.

There are similarities in the behaviour of him and Kanye west when he’s not on his medication.

It’s quite sad really as it’s almost like a cry for help but they can’t articulate or understand why they feel the way they do.

AllOfThemWitches · 06/01/2023 20:22

The family is obviously extremely dysfunctional, wonder why Harry appears to have 'issues.'

creamcoffee · 06/01/2023 20:27

@AliceOlive
only according to a journalist on the radio this morning. i was surprised

That voice isn't really noticeable any more, or at least not right now

And I think the appalling lack of judgement in what he's chosen to reveal has ended all credibility (which was already a bit shaky because of the difference between 'his' truth and a recognisable version of events)

I think people are going to be quite wary of associating with them now (other than at a superficial level, in large gatherings) because it's pretty clear now that anything goes when it comes to publication

PicturesOfDogs · 06/01/2023 20:35

Honestly, if someone had told me 5 years ago how I would be feeling sorry for Charles I would have laughed. I was all for skipping a generation.

Bit he’s really, really grown on me.
He’s done wrong and has his faults, but who hasn’t.

But ultimately, he seems a kind and sensitive man, who admits and opens up about his failings and wrongdoings. Such as the story Harry put in there where told where he opened up to his dad and told him how he felt second best, and Charles put his head in his hands and said how sorry he was

He doesn’t deserve this

I know. I've always had a high regard for Diana and still think she was treated shabbily, but Charles has grown on me and I think has tried to be a decent father, from what we can see. He doesn't deserve this.
