We had to buy our Notts Cott furniture from Ikea on M's credit card- boo hoo

Really?
Another statement probably way off the truth.

H is reported as saying they were amazed when they visited W&C in Kensington Palace and saw the art work, the furniture etc etc.

Whereas HE had to kit out Notts Cott with Ikea stuff that M bought using her CC. (Harrods is just down the road as is John Lewis .)

Has he forgotten the £millions of tax payers' money that was used to tart up Nott Cott?

And that he's now had to pay back as they buggered off the US soon afterwards?

Yet another warped statement, oozing with unfounded jealousy.

He said Meghan was amazed, not him, and he felt she was comparing it to the inadequate NottCott and the money she'd spent on her own credit card at IKEA.

So another thing about his family he didn’t bother/forgot to give her a heads up about…

like the curtsy and the children’s titles and various other bits

She’d have got a unanimous “LTB” if she’d posted about how unprepared he’d left her

PompeyGrilledSalad · 06/01/2023 08:35

I think that the multi-millionaire pretending to be reliant on his wife’s credit card to buy a sofa is not quite the PR victory he was aiming for.

How on earth were anecdotes like this not picked up at the editorial stage?

Is the author / ghost writer having a huge laugh (and pay packet) at Harry’s expense?

piedbeauty · 06/01/2023 08:35

Where are you finding all these quotes from the book?!

diddl · 06/01/2023 08:36

What's his point though-that they had to buy anything at all, that it had to go on her credit card, that it was form Ikea?

I mean I would have thought that there would have been plenty of stuff knocking about in other places that they could have.

It was his "bachelor pad" so ther must have been something in it!

MarshaMelrose · 06/01/2023 08:25

Surely she read it before it was sent to the publishers?

I did read in the summer that she had read it and wasnt happy with some stuff he'd put in although no specifics were given. The article said nothing was going to be removed. But whether that's because he wouldn't or couldn't remove it, it didn't say.

I read a while back that the publishers refused to allow alterations

Never mind the mood at the palace, what the mood in Montecito at the moment? He's not painted Meghan in a great light, has he? 😁

So the man with many millions of £££ in the bank relied on his wife’s credit card? And is now moaning that he ‘had to’ do that?

This is awfully strange.

Yes, why didn’t he buy the IKEA furniture himself? Obviously he wouldn’t have had the space for lots of art work anyway in Nott Cottage. Why did he suddenly need furniture when he met Meghan? It’s mind boggling.

They’ve allowed additions though with the bits that have come after the queen’s death

How can he possibly compare the art work in KP (which probably belongs to the nation anyway) and FC which was provided for him while he was in the UK?

He inherited £millions from his mother, so why bleat about having to pay?

Funny that the nation never seems to benefit from all of these items, that supposedly belong to it.Hmm

I bloody hope so. I doubt they’ll get another ghostwriting gig in a while. I thought ghostwriters were meant to flatter their subject?

LaBrujaPiruja · 06/01/2023 08:44

Well, I wonder what Meghan’s fandom, always saying she made millions during her acting career, make of their adored actress having to buy furniture from IKEA. Using a credit card. As if there were no other options in London for such a wealthy lady!

MagpiePi · 06/01/2023 08:46

Trying to imagine H&M trying to assemble IKEA flat pack furniture…

Ninjapot · 06/01/2023 08:48

I'm struggling to see a problem with a wife buying some of the furniture for the home. Very stupid of them to highlight their breath taking entitlement.

Sarahconnor1 · 06/01/2023 08:48

Anyone else wondering if Meghan has the ick yet?

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 06/01/2023 08:49

You are thinking of Frogmore in Windsor.

Harry lived in Nott Cott for ages before he even started dating MM and Eugenie lived there before him. There should have been no need for furniture when MM arrived.

CPL593H · 06/01/2023 08:54

Harry had been at Nott Cott for some time before Meghan moved in. Was he literally living like the Young Ones with a bean bag, a tea chest and a deckchair in this Wren designed house in the grounds of Kensington palace? Why Ikea? Why did Meghan have to use her credit card instead of her multi millionaire Prince paying?

This makes zero sense, if accurately taken from the book.

tattychicken · 06/01/2023 08:54

I imagine the furniture was a bit dated, old bits and bobs that didn't match. Harry prob didn't give two hoots about that when he used it as a bachelor pad but when Meghan started stating and then maybe fed in she prob wanted things a bit more fresh and modem.
Nothing wrong with that, but having to use her credit card baffles me.

Toolowforzero · 06/01/2023 08:56

I expect she’d have enough money for several cottages, furnishings and artwork if she shopped in M&S. She must spend thousands on designer clothes, bags, shoes, watches and jewellery etc…

FrostBittenNob · 06/01/2023 08:56

But wasn't Notts Cott meant to give a bit of normality (well as much as possible) like when W&C were on Anglesey.

OttersMayHaveShiftedInTransit · 06/01/2023 08:57

I doubt he was sleeping on the floor and sitting on a bean bag. If they decided as as couple to buy new furniture surely it's on them to pay for it?
I assume Meghan found the existing décor too 'stuff & formal' and wanted to replace it. The RF may have rooms full of antique furniture and art but they are unlikely to have a storeroom full of Billy bookcases on the off chance that someone wants one. I'm sure had they asked for an extra chest of drawers an antique tallboy or two could have been found for them.

Harry is probably at maximum earning capacity at the moment. It would be a good time to sue for divorce.

Anyone can go and see the art in kensington palace.

God. Go and sleep it off, Haz.
Close the lid on the Narcissist-in-a-box, curl up, and go mimis.

I imagine it being a bit like that scene in Zoolander where Derek and Hansel are trying to turn the computer on 😂

Princessglittery · 06/01/2023 09:01

Again this shows how little Harry explained things to M. At this point K & W had been married for nearly 10 years and had 3 children. When they first got married they lived in Notts Cottage so no different to H & M.
