Really?
Another statement probably way off the truth.

H is reported as saying they were amazed when they visited W&C in Kensington Palace and saw the art work, the furniture etc etc.

Whereas HE had to kit out Notts Cott with Ikea stuff that M bought using her CC. (Harrods is just down the road as is John Lewis .)

Has he forgotten the £millions of tax payers' money that was used to tart up Nott Cott?

And that he's now had to pay back as they buggered off the US soon afterwards?

Yet another warped statement, oozing with unfounded jealousy.

@LadyKenya
Agreed. Belongs to the nation but only a tiny group of people get to benefit from it.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 06/01/2023 09:02

What's so bad about Ikea if you've got a rough and tumble lifestyle that needs furniture with a bit of give and 'collapsibility'?

You could do yourself a mischief during a bout of family fisticuffs if there are antique solid oak carved chairs in the way.

I think cheap 'n' cheerful giant bean bags - and a Billy bookcase - are the way to go actually.

BeatriceBatchelor · 06/01/2023 09:04

Nott Cott looks beautiful from the outside but the kitchen where Willy allegedly knocked Harold into the dog bowl looks cheap and dated.

Again, anyone can go and see the artwork in Kensington Palace.

I went to an exhibition at the V&A last year where many of the exhibits were from The Royal Collection

I have just read the article where an army colonel is saying Harry's comments about saying he has killed 25 Taliban and viewed the deceased fighters as not human but as chess pieces being removed from the board...as being very bad for Harry as he is increasing his security risk and very bad for the army as they train soldiers to treat everyone has humans.

There are so many things in this book that just make Harry look bad....I am really beginning to wonder if the people Harry thinks are trying to help him are really just absolutely taking the piss to make money from him and are deliberately trying to make him look like a plonker!

Anyone can go and see the art in kensington palace.

Is there a reason that I should have to pay to do so? The nation pays enough already for all of this.

LivelyBlake · 06/01/2023 09:05

What has he done with the 17 million he inherited from his mother?

I wonder if the dog bowls were from IKEA 🤔🤪

I really seeing this as a "their place looked nice and mine was a bit pants" mega whinge - i.e. H was living like a bachelor and W&K were better at interior design and borrowed pieces from the collection...H could have done the same - and in fact did when he got Frogmore.

Don't forget H lived with W&K for quite some time before they were married - or rather H & W lived together and K was the visitor, so this shouldn't have been a surprise to him....

You can't have it both ways - the paying to see the art etc pays for the upkeep.... The public budgets for the RF were (rightly) cut many years ago and this is the quid pro quo.

Bought a house in Montecito?

OhMonDieux · 06/01/2023 09:09

@LadyKenya The cost to the nation is about £1.25 a year per person.

You are going off on a tangent. The art work in places is recycled and often appears in public. And some museums and galleries are free to enter.

You don't know what you are talking about.

How much was he paid for this book? Given his complete lack of discernment in knowing when to shut up, I fear he has priced his dignity, the Royal Family’s and his own relationship with his family far, far too cheap.

Why would he not have reached out to his family or RF advisors and said ‘I’m doing a book. Regardless of what you think of that I will be going ahead with it… but as a token do you have any advise on how to minimise its negative impact on my relationship with my family. ie what is the minimum I can get away with saying while still giving the publishers something …rather than this infantile unfettered outpouring.

The publishers must not have not been able to believe what they got him to approve.

catskittens · 06/01/2023 09:12

why s Oprah not doing an interview with him in the states?

Really? Well I disagree with you. Do not make out that we, the nation somehow benefit from the artwork in KP, when we have to pay to see it. Not everybody is able to do that.

MuchTooTired · 06/01/2023 09:13

Perhaps we could start a gofundme to help the poor loves pay their credit card bill after having to buy their own furniture? 😱

I’d have thought with all their eco talk they’d have bought second hand, but perhaps they didn’t have the cash lying about for that.

Arseholes.

It’s all just so very sad. I hate to say but, I too, wonder whether Meghan has an agenda because whilst it seems to be coming from him, is it really? How much influence has she had? If she divorced him could she claim this proves him to be an unfit father?

I think Netflix paid them almost 3X ($100mill) than what his publishers have for that Saccharine shite series they put out.

I bet Netflix are raging.

He gets a free house and moans about having to furnish it? Right ...

He gets a free house and moans about having to furnish it with his millions of pounds which he inherited and didn't have to work for - tone deaf if he thinks this makes him look like a victim rather than an arsehole.

Regular exhibitions at the Queen's Gallery, as well. The collection is so vast that only bits can be shown at a time.

FrostBittenNob · 06/01/2023 08:56

But wasn't Notts Cott meant to give a bit of normality (well as much as possible) like when W&C were on Anglesey.

Exactly! There would have been no Royal Collection art in Anglesey

lunar1 · 06/01/2023 09:16

He has absolutely no insight into the world. Many people in the uk are making a choice between staying warm and feeding their families properly and he's a whiny brat complaining about having to buy his own furniture. How on earth does his think this sounds to people?

All his claims of philanthropy are nothing but garbage.

SnowlayRoundabout · 06/01/2023 09:16

Poor love, I just can't imagine the horror and privation of having to pay for your own curtains.
