In his book, Harry also claims that his father told him that Meghan should not come to Balmoral. The Queen was staying at her Scottish estate when she died last September.

I agree with pps who say that Harry is a tragic figure now. Let's hope Meghan does stick with him.

It is easier also to say oh Meghan is crazy and Harry is being controlled but the royal family have always manipulated things and least Harry has respect for his wife and sees her as his equal unlike his dad Charles who treated Diana just vile and used her as a baby machine. But some will just believe the firm and support them even though there is a pervert/abuser in their family and Charles who cheated all through his marriage and the list goes on. They are normal people who just have a title and lots of money so it is in their interest to keep all their shameful stories a secret before the public get sick of them and see that they are really no different to anyone else. Least Harry has the balls to leave and not live that damaged life and about time someone spoke out.

Meghan and Harry's behaviour around this will never be forgiven by the family.

Yes it does - it's not about Meghan. A deathbed is not some kind of entertainment. Most of the Queen's grandchildren weren't even there. Why does a grandchild's wife need to be at a deathbed? Hint - they don't. Especially one who's caused grief and stress over their final few months.

If all the children, grandchildren and their spouses had been there, I make it that there would have been 20 people in the room in addition to any medical attendants. Who wants that sort of audience when they're dying?

I'm not surprised she was banned. They had done the Oprah interview and fired missiles at the RF by that stage. Why would you want someone who fires missiles at your family there? Harry was allowed, despite having participated in the interview, because the Queen was his actual grandmother.

This was Tony Blair and Alistair Campbell's idea. Campbell writes about it in his diaries. Prince Philip put his foot down and insisted on walking with the boys to support them. Prince Charles didn't have any say in it

William was there for constitutional reasons, none of HM's other 8 grandchildren were rushed up there, why does Harry think he's so special? He and the Mrs couldn't be bothered to visit her when they were first in the UK when the RF were probablyt aware that the end was near but now there was more PR mileage involved he's keen to go. Too little, too late Harry.

When I go I want my husband and my children around me. I certainly don't want a houseful of extended family so I can worry about if I wiped the skirting boards before I died or if there was enough food in for everyone (not that I think the queen did those things but you know what I mean). I would just want the people closest to me.

But he didn't have the balls to leave, did he? He wanted a nice half way house where he kept most of the privileges and none of the duties. Even now he wants them all to come back to him, beg his forgiveness and welcome him back into the fold.

The reality is that he's a weak man and a hypocrite.

This question sums it up. There is absolutely NO legit reason she'd want to fly to the deathbed of an in-law she hardly knew, to be among grieving people she famously didn't get on with.

Youarethesun, Why did they change their name then. Stop turning this into a race thing for god's sake, they were the ones who changed their name to live their lavish lifestyle. I had such respect for the Queen but think time the royal family were no more. Cannot believe that people think Harry is lying, he is the first one to speak the truth about the shit show of a family that they are and so controlling and if you dare to speak out you will be seen as mental or attention seeking to deflect away from the real issue, the firm.

It also needs to be borne in mind that they'd done their best to ruin Prince Philip's last days. The only surprising thing about all this is that it even occurred to Harry that it would be appropriate.

I think Harry and Meghan are appallingly tone deaf, Charles’ mother was dying (possible already gone) and Harry is arguing over whether Meghan gets to come along to Balmoral. It’s ghoulish to want her to and displays a level of entitlement and selfishness that’s astonishing. Only the Queens children were there with their spouses and William and Harry were asked to travel there, because I suspect the King wanted them there for support at a time when everything had changed in his life - as well as dealing with his grief.

None of the Queens other grandchildren were there and you don’t see any of them twisting the situation to paint themselves as victims and wail about how badly treated they are. The fact that Harry created a row on the day that the Queen died tells us all we need to know about how he thinks the entire world should revolve around him and his awful wife.

Harry only left because The Queen wouldn’t agree to the half in/ half out proposal .
Has it occurred to you that The Queen herself didn’t want Meghan there ? After all she had declined all previous invitations to Balmoral so why go now ?
