Meghan WAS banned from Balmoral after Queen’s death

In his book, Harry also claims that his father told him that Meghan should not come to Balmoral. The Queen was staying at her Scottish estate when she died last September.

The prince wrote: "Then my father called again. He told me I was welcome at Balmoral, but… without her. He started to explain his reasons, but they didn't make any sense at all, and it was disrespectful as well. I did not tolerate it from him.

"Don't even think about talking about my wife like that.

"Repentant, he said, stammering, that he simply didn't want the place to be full of people. Nobody's wife was going to go, not even Kate, he told me, so Meg shouldn't either."

Meghan couldn't be trusted not to photograph, video or broadcast the Queen's final moments. It's bloody awful that in his mother's last moments Charles had to deal with Harry and Meghan's egos.

How is it sensible? When my DHs grandmother died partners were welcome. That is usual.

Why? Someone's death is not a spectator sport. If they'd asked all the grandchildren and their spouses, there'd have been a hell of a crowd.

If the plane with William, the Wessexes and Andrew on was sat on the tarmac waiting for Harry for 1 hr +, with them on board, it would mean that they could have arrived in time to be with their mother/grandmother as she passed. I would never be able to forgive Harry his for awful behaviour under those circumstances.

I don't think that happened. Continuous coverage on Sky (and prob BBC) and I had the TV on.
I think they boarded and then taxied for take-off pretty sharply.

SunflowerTed · 05/01/2023 22:16

They didn’t want the Netflix film screw turning up!

Gilmorehill · 05/01/2023 22:17

Harry and William were the only dgc to be there. Why did Harry feel M was more entitled to be there than Beatrice, Eugenie etc etc. Prick.

I do too, sadly.

Looking at his eyes and body language during the interview with TB he looks almost contemptuous. TB is a personal friend, but even he seems to be doubtful about Harrys behaviour judging from the trailers. Harry just can’t brook any opposition or questioning of his behaviour. He looks angry, and like the soul has been sucked out of him. I think he’s on the verge of a breakdown too. He doesn’t have any meaningful role or way to spend his time now. I remember reading that before he met Meghan he often struggled to get out of bed and spent hours playing PlayStation. He’s a man who needs structure and routine, and a meaningful role . He has too much time on his hands to brood and it’s making him more and more paranoid.

TanyaTurnersNails · 05/01/2023 22:17

The man needs therapy.

He's had loads of it hasn't he? Called his therapist when he landed on his arse in the dog bowl.

He's the worst advert for therapy ever. Either that or his therapist is a complete charlatan.

Youwhatnowbiggles · 05/01/2023 22:17

And it is now plainly quite clear why. Who on earth does Harry think he is? His Dad had just lost his Mother, Harry’s relationship with the Queen was much smaller by comparison. If they ask for your wife to stay away you follow the line. Same happened with my Grandparent and I respected the wishes of my Dad and his siblings. Ffs someone make the entitled little pauper Prince H wake the fuck up to reality.

SnowlayRoundabout · 05/01/2023 22:18

What a delight - his grandmother, the Queen, was dying, and he still tried to make it all about him and his wife.

Surely someone warned him how dreadful this would look. I'm prepared to bet several people did. He's just so utterly arrogant he cannot see or acknowledge it.

CocoLux · 05/01/2023 21:22

Sophie and the queen had been close for years, and as Sophie was her daughter in law she was one step closer a relative as well.

Yeah - it's fair enough about Sophie. Just in the OP. Harry apparently said that Charles said nobody's wife was going. But Edward's wife went (and I know she's a daughter in law).

Return2thebasic · 05/01/2023 22:20

I just think whenever the Sussex couple are around anywhere, more materials for "disclosing" at a later stage are handed out. Too many feuds to keep the water clear. Unfortunately, don't believe it would improve.

thepatronsaintofbubblewrap · 05/01/2023 22:21

'Harold' hahahaha

SnowlayRoundabout · 05/01/2023 22:22

It's interesting that, in the trailer, when it's put to Harry that his brother is entitled to say that he's outraged by the way he's behaving, all he can find by way of a response is "he might say all sorts of things". He can't actually respond with any sort of justification for his behaviour.

RosesAndHellebores · 05/01/2023 22:22

To be perfectly honest, I'd serve Tescos if I thought Meghan would be there. It's perfectly understandable her presence wasn't required. Very unlady like to kick up a fuss about it.

Harry is becoming a modern tragedy, not unlike his mother.

Nanalisa60 · 05/01/2023 22:23

If I remember Sophie and Edward might have already been In Balmoral , Sophie was one of her favourites, they spent a lot of time together.

Yes the DC were there, and spouses (Camilla and Tim Lawrence were already in Scotland, so didn't need to fly up - not sure of their exact movements but likely there).

William was only DGC arriving in the plane that brought the Wessexes and Andrew. Harry went later that day

None out of Peter, Zara, Beatrice, Eugenie (or spouses) or Louise or James were there at all

This is what I've been wondering, why isn't a friend telling them. The RF doesn't even need to respond, Harry is going to be the master of his own undoing. Quite sad really.

I knew this at the time via a connection and I told everyone under a different username and everyone laughed and called me a liar!!!!!

I told people at the time of the funeral that H and M were without a doubt taking notes about every event with a view to spinning them into more "Everyone is beastly to us" stories. Obviously I don't claim to be unique in that, it was pretty bloody clear. And of course it's been proved right.

Because no DGC spouses went. Neither did 6/8 of the DGC

The flight was meant to leave at 1:30, but eventually took off at 2:39 so they were mid air when she died. They arrived at Balmoral shortly after 5pm.

Had they departed on time they’d still have missed the moment the Queen died. So, thankfully, Harry can’t be blamed for that as it really would be unforgivable. Still, must have been stressful and emotional for all of them waiting for him to make his mind up.

I'm sure several friends are telling them, assuming they asked for opinions, but there is plenty of evidence that, time after time, Harry and Meghan will only listen to each other and they regularly ignore advice.

Can people stop this ‘they are German’ shit. ‘German’ isn’t an insult.

and secondly you are degrading every immigrant and children of immigrants. My mother wasn’t British. My dads parents weren’t British. That doesn’t make me any less British than someone who can trace their lineage more generations.

How many generations do you demand people have before they can be British?

It’s entirely sensible because it’s not a drama being played out for everyone to see! Our Queen was dying, it’s not within the realms of probability that perhaps she didn’t want to be overwhelmed and undignified by the newer members of her family watching it!! I’m not a novice on death, but haven’t experienced the significance in my life of losing a grandparent I was close to (as an adult) but I suspect my grandad (if I was close to him) wouldn’t want my fiancé there!!!

From his young years, I do think it's the RF's fault to allow him to drift so far. Sympathise him from that angle.

But with a memoir filled with this amount of details from his personal life (way too much), including how his brother "attack" him (don't most brothers fight?) and how he lose his virginity. Really, this man has nothing left in his soul showing a sense of pride. He's broken.
