We put the royal family on a pedestal, however they are a family with potential issues and dysfunction like a lot of families have.

I just find myself wondering if these allegations might have some truth behind them and what that might mean for the future of the royal family.

I also wonder what Dianna would think of this feud between her two boys. I expect she would be very sad…

@Samcro Bad luck to get it badly. Hope you're soon fully recovered. Look after yourself. @polkadotdalmation It seems to be hard to predict who will get it badly. I've had all my jabs, but still got it in March 2022, second omicron wave, and only 3 months after jab number three. I hardly noticed I had anything - very slight sore throat first thing in morning which quickly wore off. Some days not even that. Wouldn't even have done a test if DH hadn't tested pos. Since then had jab number four in October, and DH has just had it again, but I've escaped it. He had it a bit worse this time than last time but, interestingly it was much shorter - neg test on day 5 compared with day 11. Hope you continue to avoid it.

@Idontpostmuch It seems very much a Covid lottery doesn't it? I saw something about another jab but work not said anything. At least you have some additional antibodies now, so silver lining and all that. Bloody hate Covid and all the lockdowns, deaths, and misery it caused. As there's a Covid section I'll shut up now

I've strangely not caught covid at all! , despite being around those that did?
Was really ( extremely worryingly) sick all over Christmas, thought I would die!
But it wasn't covid!

The fiasco in NY could be reported, under your rules, because they obviously intended it should be.

What about Harry's book? The Press reported things he's said about his family, as he must have known they would, and this helped to sell the book. Did he ask the family if it was O.K. with them, with Chelsy, with the stable-girl (who handled it excellently).

If newspapers/TV etc. only reported what the principals wanted to put out it would all be fawning puff-pieces - as fan-mags are.

A Free Press is essential in a free and democratic society. If they put out misinformation or information obtained by criminal methods they can be held to account - as Harry is trying to do at the moment.

Did you not read my full comment? Things in the public interest, yes of course. Things merely of interest to the public but private, not without consent. Its a little strange to imply that would ever mean not reporting a crime.

To be fair, I think most of the pre-weddding news was about the Markle family drama. Which sort of amused some and bored others. So leading up to the day there had been quite a lot round the wedding, but not necessarily wedding stuff.
And of course there were threads on here moaning about the wedding!! There were threads on here moaning about the coronation and the funeral. There are lots of anti-monarchy posters who obviously don't like the royals and love to moan about the royals and the cost.
I don't think you can judge the average person on the street by what's posted on MN. Because we all post most days about the RF and H&M, but I can guarantee you, most people give them less thought in a year than we do in a day. Lol. Which is great for the RF. They just keep trucking. But is not great for the H&M business model, so they need to keep their name in the news. Which, I think, they're doing very well, if not aways with the desired outcome.

strangely dh didn't get it. I presume I got it from the care home dc is in, as loads of staff came down with it round that time.
