The Sun have got hold of a copy of the book that was accidently put on sale in Spain. They are clearly skimming it as fast as possible with a translator. They are reporting that W&H begged KC not to marry C, and that he thought she was leaking stories to the press.

Bloody hell.

Someone said something similar on another thread cyclamen and I wish I could remember which one.

Indeed. I wonder if he did report it to anyone. If he documented his injuries. If he kept his torn necklace. If he noted everything that was said leading up to the incident.

I think something happened. I’m just not convinced it happened the way he has said.

I don’t suppose it matters though what was said before someone was physically assaulted. If it did, a lot of domestic violence would be excused too which isn’t the case….

It isn't true that the threads you started on Andrew weren't busy. I did an Advanced Search of the threads you started on Andrew. Three came up:

  1. www.mumsnet.com/talk/the_royal_family/4443261-Prince-Andrew-Thread-2?reply= A continuation thread you started after the first thread became full (1000 posts). This Thread 2 of yours also filled up to completion: 40 pages, 999 posts.

  2. So you started Thread 3. www.mumsnet.com/talk/the_royal_family/4449237-Prince-Andrew-Thread-3?page=40 This also got to 999 posts, ie one post from being completely full.

  3. So you started Thread 4. www.mumsnet.com/talk/the_royal_family/4464450-Prince-Andrew-Thread-4?reply= This one only got to 24, pages, 590 replies. But by that time the topic had been discussed for over 3-and-a-half full threads.

Going by the above, the threads you started on Prince Andrew were unequivocally exactly busy.

Given that the vast majority of people think Andrew is a repulsive , arrogant prat, I am amazed the comments filled 4 threads .

ArcaneWireless · 06/01/2023 12:42

I know. Been there. Done that. And I didn’t report it either.

But I am aware that there are two sides to every story. And recollections have varied quite a lot.

bakalava · 06/01/2023 12:43

This is what I don't get. Nott Cott has low, sloping ceilings where he claims that he could not stand up straight and a poky kitchen full of units. Therefore, if he was pushed, he would either hit the back of his head on the ceiling or he would instinctively put the palm of his hand onto the ceiling to break his fall. Otherwise, he would break his fall using the kitchen base unit. It is not very convincing to imagine him falling straight down as he describes.

BradfordGirl · 06/01/2023 12:47

The comments here are pretty much what people say after domestic violence when they do not want to believe what happened.

Nothing about his version of events makes sense . I think it was either exaggerated or didn’t happen the way he described given the size of the 2 men and the room .
Things like this make people question genuine DA.

People aren't all saying it didn't happen - they are saying it is quite possible that there was a fracas or whatever you would call it.

Are you a defence lawyer by trade?

BradfordGirl · 06/01/2023 12:51

You question that he say William went for him, pushed him over, and he fell on the dog bowl because the kitchen is smallish?
How small do you think this kitchen is? It is small for the Royal Family, but its not a terraced house small galley kitchen you know.

BradfordGirl · 06/01/2023 12:53

@Rockybooboo It does read like that. Traditional cottages have sloping ceilings in bedrooms and in some corners of rooms, that does not mean all ceilings are sloping and a man can't stand upright in any room.
I don't care about all of this, but some of the comments are so laughable.

ArcaneWireless · 06/01/2023 12:54

I’m not excusing violence potty - the second time it happened the reporting was taken out of my hands.

No- one has any business putting their hands on someone else.
I did it though the second time - to try to protect myself. To some that would make me as bad.

The whole story is important.

I'm not pro Harry and Meghan as such but they've been getting hate for years an d it used to upset but some these posts are just ridiculous. You've got to laugh.

This is of course a wilful misrepresentation of what people are saying. Harry has a proven history of, shall we say, misrepresenting facts in his own favour, and people are reasonably pointing out aspects of his story that just don't hang together. He may be telling the truth , but it would be rash to make that assumption without hearing both sides of the story.

We don't know if domestic violence occurred at Not Cot. As Harry says himself there are two sides to each story (there can be more). We've heard Harry's side but with no evidence, how can we be sure what happened? He doesn't explicitly say he was assaulted. If he was assaulted, he must report it and William must be dealt with by the police and courts. Harry is also being emotionally abusive to William trying to make William feel worthless and to intimidate and control his family into submission, he seriously needs to address that too.

MrsMaxDeWinter · 06/01/2023 13:14

@BradfordGirl

It is a Mumset sport to take everything H and M say out of context, to wilful misinterpret it then get into a frothing rage about it.

The size of the cottage was not a complaint, but an anecdote in the context of what Oprah said when she came to tea. "Nobody would ever believe it" she said, because on the outside, people imagine royals live in big fancy places. That was the point of the anecdote, to show they lived not in palatial circumstance, but in a little place with low ceilings, in which they were shown gardening, painting, and that they made their own.

Now some are enraged because the story about the assault sounds "vague".

Well, duh.

You could read the book and get the full story and context.

Or you could continue the manufactured outrage based on bits of the book, some translated poorly from Spanish, bits, not even excerpts.

I sometimes think this place is a parallel universe😂

bakalava · 06/01/2023 13:17

The rage always seems to come from the same direction and the same posters 😃Should I call it "red mist" or "Sussex fury"?

Ohnonevermind · 06/01/2023 13:24

Latest revelations - Kate was reluctant to share her lipgloss with Meghan, do people really happily do this with people they don’t know well ?

perhaps working on no deal, this was common, but do people share lip gloss with in-laws they haven’t known long or work colleagues ?

Spect8 · 06/01/2023 13:33

Some of you need to get a life. The RF is at best a soap opera for the peasants who pay for it, or a dysfunctional entity that is filled with a bunch of unrelateable people constantly at war.

I prefer the soap opera version, because it is only that and the frocks and jewels that they are any good for now.

Charles is nothing but a tampon fighting inkwells with a massive scowl, fat fingers and a plummy voice with his hand permanently stuck in his coat pocket. Camilla is a wicked step mother. They both conspired to destroy Diana and damage the sons. They don't live together now, did they ever?

I said on a pp that H is to be admired as the only one brave enough to expose this outrageous shit show of a family to the world. But the sycophants do not want to see it. I don't know why. The RF did nothing for me or you ever, they don't help me pay my bills or make my life easier. They don't talk to me or have tea with me, they are a busted flush and it's about time too.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 06/01/2023 13:43

I find it really strange that people aren’t remotely concerned that William physically went for Harry ...

I'd agree if it wasn't that so much of what's come from Montecito has been shown to be a load of nonsense

Some of it's entertaining in its way - or would be if it wasn't coming from such clearly inadequate people - but I'm not sure it's wise to take it all too seriously

Puzzledandpissedoff · 06/01/2023 13:51

Actually some of us are the first to point out the sheer toxicity and nastiness of the RF and what they represent and say so often, but there are ways to respond to unpleasantness and for me this ain't it

Had H&M conducted themselves in a dignified manner and gone on to live a happy independent life they may well have helped to show up the rest for what they are, but instead they've made themselves into lightning rods for discontent and offered a very useful smokescreen for whatever the family would prefer to hide

But why would you even get so obsessed with this trivial matter, so you let it fester and you store it away for you memoirs?

It's so trivial, why assign so much weight to it?

Just about all of what he has said is already known.

The only exposing he is doing is his true character!
