Really?

The Queen maybe. Charles is an unknown quantity as Monarch so we don't know that.

Yes really. Look at the latest polls.

Glindara · 02/01/2023 14:39

BethDuttonsTwin · 02/01/2023 14:37

But we don’t know if he picks up the phone do we? Because we never hear his side. We know that Meghan doesn’t pick up the phone because both sides say it. It’s never possible to know what’s really going on when only one side is keeping everyone update. Three sides and all that.

Has Thomas Markle kept quiet then as requested by H&M?

midsomermurderess · 02/01/2023 13:50

It’s all so sad. The pair of them are stuck in a mire of grievance and victimhood and can’t seem to move on. Yo can behave the way they gave touch and expect your relationships not to be badly damaged.

It's been going on since before Covid, it's been that long, must be three years now! It's a mess.

Roussette · 02/01/2023 14:40

Blossomtoes · 02/01/2023 14:39

Yes really. Look at the latest polls.

YouGov with 2,000 participants?

Advicerequest · 02/01/2023 14:42

He has bought into the American way of doing this - all about me and always the fault of others. Self validation at the expense of all else. Victimhood. That's why I can't stand Megan markle - that's her narrative

IcedPurple · 02/01/2023 14:42

Samcro · 02/01/2023 14:36

you mean the same one that the PK did a carol concert with

But 'PK' has no responsibilities towards Meghan.

However, Meghan's husband poses as her great protector from the horrid British media, but is happy to give an exclusive to Clarkson's employer? To read some of the posts here a few weeks ago, Camilla might as well have written the article herself, so dreadful was the fact that she happened to be a guest at the same event as him before it was even published. Yet no word of criticism for Harry giving an exclusive to the channel which pays Clarkson millions a year? Even if Harry was contractually bound to it, surely he should issue a statement explaining his position? Or get his 'global press secretary' to do so? He does love his 'statements'.

ArcaneWireless · 02/01/2023 14:44

He found freedom. But the only thing running fast and feee is his tongue. He continues to bind the rest of himself to the institution with every interview.

Happy people don’t whirl about in a maelstrom of mumping.

Instead of telling everyone you are happy and insisting to everyone that you are living the life you always wanted, it might be an idea to break away from the cause of your misery. Completely.

And then go and live the happy life and actually be happy.

Wallowing in unhappiness will eventually drown you in it.

Blossomtoes · 02/01/2023 14:44

Roussette · 02/01/2023 14:40

YouGov with 2,000 participants?

Come on @Roussette, you’re a bright old bird, you know how surveys work. The wide eyed faux innocence doesn’t cut it with me.

KatherineJaneway · 02/01/2023 14:45

Divorce then. Only way.

Coronateachingagain · 02/01/2023 14:45

Publisher Penguin Random House calls it "a landmark publication full of insight, revelation, self-examination, and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief".

💵💵💵💵💵💵💵 incoming 🙄

My favourite bit of this quote - the use of word "wisdom" 😅

These interviews are just to promote the book. Just more of the same.

MarshaMelrose · 02/01/2023 14:46

Roussette · 02/01/2023 14:40

YouGov with 2,000 participants?

That's how polls work. They don't ask the whole country!

kirinm · 02/01/2023 14:47

IcedPurple · 02/01/2023 12:44

I wonder if the same people who criticised Camilla for attending the same lunch as Jeremy Clarkson days before his offensive article was published will also be so disdainful of Harry giving an interview to the channel which pays Jeremy Clarkson millions a year?

That's not even vaguely comparable.

Hepwo · 02/01/2023 14:48

A lot of these complaints about not being protected are quite complicated.

Finding out that people en masse don't like you very much must be a shock and because RF employees could not change that public opinion, because actually you aren't very likeable, you are going to have to lash out rather than accept that you have put people off your self.

No one can protect you from yourself.

Abigail69 · 02/01/2023 14:49

Take it from someone who is over 50 years old and experienced in social skills.
If you really want to make up with anyone where there has been a problem, you don't advertise it but have a one-to-one honest chat. Sadly, for whatever reason, Harry is behaving like a spoiled kid that is being egged on by someone or something I guess.

With the money Harry has and the life he had, there is/was no reason to sell his soul to the media

MarshaMelrose · 02/01/2023 14:49

and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief.

I'd say Harry is still fighting, and losing, that battle.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 02/01/2023 14:50

I'm actually gobsmacked to hear that there's going to be another interview. I had got the feeling that they kind of regretted the Netflix deal ("not the way we would have told it" etc.) and were trying to get back in the fold now that the Queen had died and a new landscape was emerging.

I won't be buying Spare. I would have, but the waste of time that was the Netflix series has put me right off.

SoTiredNeedHoliday · 02/01/2023 14:52

Maybe he should just be quite and live the life he (they? or just she?) wanted away from the public eye and that's that. He's said his peace and there is nothing more that he has got to say that is interesting.

He left his role and let down his family & some would say his country.... what else can he possibly want?

It seems they wanted quite and a private life and did whatever it took to make that happen and then they got it. But apparently its not working for them so they need to broadcast from every and any media outlet that will bother to interview them..... 😴boring!

Roussette · 02/01/2023 14:52

Blossomtoes · 02/01/2023 14:44

Come on @Roussette, you’re a bright old bird, you know how surveys work. The wide eyed faux innocence doesn’t cut it with me.

Old, yes. Bright, nah!

I seriously wondered if it was YouGov. Honest

Highfivemum · 02/01/2023 14:52

Why would the RF trust him. ? Whatever they say will be published. He wants a family. I get that but he was born into the RF. that is his family. He either accepts that or not.
I am tired of watching a privileged entitled grown man acting like he is three. He doesn’t like his family then move on. He has had a life most of us would dream of. He doesn’t have to worry about putting the heating on or healthcare etc. families are suffering and he is moaning and moaning. He says he is happy with Megan and loves her then why not enjoy his life. ? Why carrying on moaning. We don’t need to hear his whining anymore

Greatly · 02/01/2023 14:53

LillianGish · 02/01/2023 14:23

Does anyone know exactly what the RF has done wrong? They are - by very definition - a hierarchy based on primogeniture. There's no getting round this - it's the reason ant-monarchists want them to be abolished. Harry was born second and while he once rejoiced in that fact - enjoying more freedom and getting away with more indiscretions than his older brother ever could - his wife has persuaded him that this is not fair. None of this comes as any surprise to anyone British, but Harry has made the mistake or marrying an American who just doesn't get it. She seems to have harboured a hope that things might change for her and because of her (and because she had rather a grand church wedding despite being a divorcee - a privilege that wasn't extended to the now King) - she is completely unable to grasp that nothing ever really changes because that's actually the point of the monarchy. It's not an egalitarian system. Everything goes to William and Kate. In fact her mistake was looking at William and Kate and thinking that was how her life might pan out, instead of looking at Anne and Andrew and Edward and at all their children - the ones who just missed out.

Exactly this!

Hepwo · 02/01/2023 14:53

With the money Harry has and the life he had, there is/was no reason to sell his soul to the media

He clearly didn't have enough to satisfy Meghan's ambitions when he first met her. He's selling his soul for a big house for her.

BellePeppa · 02/01/2023 14:55

Inkanta · 02/01/2023 13:24

I will be buying his book. Can't wait to read what he has to say.

What a waste of money. It will be plastered all over the papers and SM anyway. What’s going to be in it? Complaining, whinging, whining and griping about every thing. Oh and of course he’ll talk about his mother and how marrying Meghan was like marrying his mother (not in so many words but the man needs to see someone about his Oedipus complex). I wouldn’t waste a penny on it personally.

Pleasebeafleabite · 02/01/2023 14:56

theworldhas · 02/01/2023 14:02

@Badger1970
Another year, another relentless media onslaught from the Sussex camp.
One longs for the day that they run out of money.

Yeah, and it’s shameful how the Mail and the Sun etc are being forced to print sometimes twelve stories about them a day, and how people are forced in their millions to comment on their lives.

If only there was a way to avoid that

IcedPurple · 02/01/2023 14:57

In fact her mistake was looking at William and Kate and thinking that was how her life might pan out, instead of looking at Anne and Andrew and Edward and at all their children - the ones who just missed out.

Did they miss out?

Or did they get to enjoy the immense unearned privilege of being born royal, without the lifelong responsibilities and restrictions of being monarch?

From where I'm sitting, being the 'spare' is a fantastic deal. Nearly all the perks, with much more freedom and flexibility. It certainly gave Harry privileges, status and wealth he could never have come within a million miles of based on his own merits.

Bard6817 · 02/01/2023 14:57

It’s them against…. The RF apparently…. Because of their racism. So they move from the least racist part of the world to one of the most racist parts of the world. (For reasons that keep changing but we all know it’s about media income)

And now he appears alone in an interview asking for his family back.

Trouble in paradise i’m wondering.

When their divorce happens and her book comes out, he will no doubt be a shouty stress head with institutional racism in him so ingrained he was always going to fail and it will be the RF’s fault, but she was afraid of him and he was excessively controlling. Makes you wonder if they moved to that part of the world for the divorce settlement rights and if there’s a prenup and he is just a muppet that fell for it.

At least we know part of the above is true. He is definately a muppet.
