I think the more interviews he does and the more books he writes, the bigger the gap between him and his brother becomes. I think Charles will forgive him, William not so much.

@IcedPurple , pretty much what I thought! , bizarre abbreviations, odd language, all very odd!

Bizarrski!

Highfivemum · 02/01/2023 18:50

The reason he is on the TV and making money from interviews is because he is part of the RF
the reason he has beautiful homes around the world is because of the RF
the reason he is allowed to travel around the world first class and speak out about causes is because he is from the RF
the reason he had a top education and allowed to do what he wants is because he is a member of the RF
when and IF Harry realises this then he may move forward in his life and be grateful and stop whining. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you. Don’t talk out of school and more importantly don’t ever forget your roots.no matter where you come from

Anklespraying · 02/01/2023 18:50

The only people taking money are those who are funded by my taxes. For the pleasure I’m supposed to curtesy to them as being my superiors.

More bollocks, people don't curtsey when they meet them out in the street and it's optional in a formal meeting.

I definitely think the British media was racist towards Meghan but perhaps not always blatantly (apart from straight outta compton which was awful).

That headline and story was written by an American journalist based in LA I believe. Though I agree it shouldn’t have made it into the UK DM.

Absolutely ! I met many of the RF including C several times through my work and never curtseyed or 'bobbed' once

I've been in bed all over Xmas with this flu! , so haven't posted just read the threads here, it has given me an odd understanding, I recognise many posters but oddly every so often a flurry off odd posts come thick and fast spouting absolute nonsense, then this dies down ( particularly a times of the day and night!) and then a day or so later they come again! , it's a very odd pattern but quite entertaining however this last one is the most bizarre I've seen so far!

Prince Harry served 10yrs and went to war twice. He’s a Veteran, not “an army dropout”. I personally think he should have been allowed to carry on serving in the army, however I’d imagine his father, and brother, had other plans for him within the RF

Not quite. H was on his way out of the army because he couldn’t pass the requirements to move up the ranks and anything else would have been humiliation (for him personally). The RF provided him with a career path and status he was incapable of achieving on his own.

And what exams are those @Cornettoninja

Hepwo · 02/01/2023 18:58

Harry and Meghan have simply ignited the dormant anger about this ridiculous institution and the brutality it endorsed but was never held accountable for.

She's been a massively divisive force. Apart from the pathetic implication that there's been no reflection on the purpose and role of the institution until an actress, skilled in writing about clothes and restaurants, showed up to educate the world, what have they actually done?

A load of shit stirring. And what will it achieve? Nothing.

TheFairyCaravan · 02/01/2023 18:59

*requirements, even

They=the slaves must be laughing in their graves. I love that poem by Maya Angelou - Still I rise.

So do I. And the Maya Angelou I know through her work would take a pretty dim view of this shit slinging.

AmazonianAvatar · 02/01/2023 19:03

H & M absolutely NEED to have a starring role at KC’s coronation. It will be a global event, one of the biggest extravaganzas in recent history after the Queens Golden Jubilee. They need to be there to make it look, especially to the Americans, that they are still relevant in the RF.

I rather imagine that’s why he wants to get back in his Dad’s good books. I doubt he expected the Queen to die when she did and hoped to make lots of cash trashing the RF (not the Queen of course who he’s made out to be unable to intervene in the face of KC and William as he knew everyone loved her) and get Megs in the running for US President. Ooofff, bad planning there!

Justmuddlingalong · 02/01/2023 19:03

He reminds me of a 3 year old. Wants a strawberry yogurt. You get one out of the fridge and there's a meltdown because it's the wrong flavour, he wants a cherry one. You swap them and the tantrum subsides. You take the lid off the cherry yoghurt and the hysterics start again. He wanted to take the lid off. No not that spoon, that spoon! You change the spoon and place the lid back on top of the pot to try to placate him. It doesn't work and the spoon and yogurt are left untouched as he leaves the table. You give up trying to reason with someone who's immaturity stops them acting in a reasonable way and eat the yogurt yourself.

Maximinimalist · 02/01/2023 18:25

Probably yes. Why would it not? It must be feel good sucking it to an institution that was arrogant enough to think it was all powerful. What does he have to lose? The love of the British Media and their followers? The support of his brother and father?

It has no power at all. All the power has been handed over to democratic government quite some time ago. Dear me, your history is very poor.

Staff College. It’s very arduous and intellectually challenging. And if you fail you’re asked to resign.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 02/01/2023 19:05

He couldn’t carry on serving without passing exams to allow him to progress. He arrived at a crossroads, intensive study towards promotion to Major and making a life long career of it or leave. He chose to leave

So I've been told, and I've sometimes wondered whether the story about his location becoming known was a leak designed to get him out of there, but with a cover story which avoided the likelihood of him failing exams

On an allied note, is anyone in a position to know how "active" his military role was? Personally I'm not, but I'd be interested to learn more if there are reputable accounts out there

Hepwo · 02/01/2023 19:07

They are the one’s laughing. All the way to the bank. Whilst we are seen as backward racists. That is the reality.

That is pretty disgusting isn't it, making money out of calling people racist?

Harry's battalion always had to have a SF or SFSG attachment to it apparently.

Problem was those resources in war were starting to be needed elsewhere. So babysitting him became an "issue".

His location though, I do believe was "leaked" I don't think it was a cover story, but how the leak occured could well be some smoke and mirrors.

Although an infantry officer at his first deployment, he wasn't tasked with walking through Helmand on foot patrols, they were given FOB's to man, (Forward Operating Base). Still and arduous job, still not "safe" nobody is safe in a war zone.

He did serve, and he was in a war zone, so I don't think you can take any of that away from him. He still encountered live fire and so on.

fucked if I know, I do know he needed to be qualified to degree level to progress whether that be an actual degree or equivalent qualification.

I think he was given the option of a desk job but didn’t want it.
