Christ, if only.

🤣🤣🤣

You may need to start learning a bit quicker if you’re wanting to engage with “interesting” or “controversial” questions. This is an odd one to choose for your second contribution in the weeks (day) since joining.

Genuine questions

I'm loving the sound track also as I did with the Harry & Meghan series.

You mean the tiny violins?

The soundtrack in the Netflix series was probably a production mistake.

Don't forget the UN speech that Harry got as part of paying for attaching their name on this docu too 😅

I now imagine them and team (or whatever left of the team) searching frantically for the next docu series that can fits the narrative.

JoanOfAllTrades · 31/12/2022 15:06

Where I live, we don’t have the Daily Mail, but Jacinda Ardern was on the evening news and in the local (national) paper as having said that the interview was one she did in 2019 for the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

Also, Ruth Bader Ginsburg features in the documentary as well. She was interviewed at the Supreme Court in 2019.

Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex only recently recorded that introduction for this series.

Ashley Hansen (Sussex's Global Press Secretary) said in a written statement: "The Duke and Duchess have never cited privacy as the reason for stepping back. This distorted narrative was intended to trap the couple into silence.''

Nice try by the Daily Mail etc though...

Harry did say he didn’t want to live in a fishbowl or feel like his life was The Truman Show anymore. People interpreted that as meaning he wanted to live a life away from the spotlight, which in my book is exactly what that meant.

I haven’t watched a single thing they’ve been attached to whether it was the O show or this latest documentary and I’m still sick of the sight and sound of them.

It's a brilliant series, if you can't cope, simply don't tune in. I am loving it personally, find it inspirational and motivational.

The hatred is a sad reflection really, maybe the series will help you have a more positive approach to 2023 :)

Airing one's dirty laundry in public is incredibly motivational and inspiring Confused

Anyway OP are you going to engage with points others are raising or is this just a lovely fuzzy echo chamber?

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 31/12/2022 15:45

wishingyouwell · 31/12/2022 14:14

Very intolerant to suggest that anyone who thinks outside the box of the Daily Mail is paid. That would be convenient but it isn't true.

Try to accept that there are many people in society with the ability to think independently. Another inconvenient truth.

Inconvenient truth.

Yup, that's it again.

Bot for sure

Yet Meghan specifically talks to Oprah about their 'right to privacy'. No ambiguity there. Harry specifically says he wants to find a peaceful life. No ambiguity there. This couple are known liars so saying it wasn't about privacy is just another.

wishingyouwell · 31/12/2022 20:18

In answer to an earlier poster, I really enjoyed all the stories however Albie Sachs resonated very deeply with me. Much like the respect for the fictional character 'Atticus Finch' there is something very moving about people who have everything to lose, who stand up for what is right anyhow. Solitary confinement is also an incredibly frightening feeling it was very sad to hear it is 'something you never get over'.

OP posts:
wishingyouwell · 31/12/2022 20:21

Albie Sachs chose to stand up for the oppressed black people of South Africa at a massive cost to his own life and personal freedom. I greatly respect that.

That’s great but you still haven’t said why you’re crediting M&H with the content of this programme.

wishingyouwell · 31/12/2022 20:32

Harry and Meghan are the executive producers. Aligns with their social justice values so makes absolute sense.

Well done to everyone involved in the production.

Hope all watching enjoy it as much as I did.

Happy new year.

OP You do understand that they had absolutely nothing to do with the production, apart from putting their nsme on it?

Edinburghmusing · 31/12/2022 20:37

I’ve been so inspired by Harry and Meghan that I’ve just sent a message to all my friends setting out how my life is inspirational and they should be trying harder to be like me.

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 31/12/2022 20:40

What a strange thread. OP not actually realising H&M had nothing to do with the content.

VioletLemon · 31/12/2022 20:52

Oh God.

Not sure what it is about them I find so intensley irritating. It might be 'H' blankly staring into shot saying, "To live, to lead.... " while sounding like a 14 year old in the school play. Him referencing brave people making brave decisions bla bla bla... Autosuggesting the 2 of them are in the same league. Its so embarrassing. It might be how they have been positioned in the same sentence as Mandela and alongside clips of awe inspiring world leaders. Why can't she read the lines without reading autocue in a very obvious way. I feel for him tbh, I don't think his privilege in life has brought any happiness and I think he's been let down and seems bereft. He could do alot of good and I really hope they do but nobody will respect them if they are not seen to be making real contributions in society and not megabucks voice overs. It's so false.
On the plus side at least there was no "riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight????".
Small mercy.

Sadly they have 'produced' nothing. The series was already in the can a couple of years ago. They are presenters but Netflix needs to justify the large salaries so made them executive producers. Not sure how they can square that circle but that's Netflix for you.

Anyway, my New Years resolution is to never read anything about them ever again. Sadly, I think I'm more likely to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and win a gold medal for gymnastics at the Olympics (on the same day)

Their recollections vary 🙄.

Like another PP, I too am sick of them.

When will they learn that less is more and overexposure lends itself to exactly the type of comments that people are making here and on social media?

If they went away for a while, maybe a year, a decade, my lifetime!, people would engage more with them but this whole trash and cash, pity porn lifestyle is very off putting and offensive, to the majority of people I think. And I’m not only talking about British people!

I personally also find it quite distasteful and disturbing that Harry and Meghan use race as an excuse for everything. After all that the King did to make her wedding inclusive for her, such as hiring the choir, which he did himself and that was solely his idea, I find it hard to believe that the Royal Family is racist.

As a woman of colour, the fact that Meghan herself said that she didn’t encounter racism until she met Harry, tells me that she has never really lived as a person of colour, hasn’t encountered the same prejudice that other people of colour have and hasn’t had to fight her whole life to be considered as good as, if not better than a white person.

I personally feel that H&M, along with their “allies” are doing more damage to race relations than even Enoch Powell did with his “rivers of blood” speech.

This is totally doable, if you start training right now and petition the Olympic Committee to hold the Olympics after the next one, in Norway, with the gymnasium heats to be held specifically in Oslo.

You could perhaps write a research paper (in-depth) about how life after a nuclear war will start again from cockroaches (apparently the only things that will survive a nuclear war!), and how we (humans) are supposed to believe that although cockroaches will survive all that radiation, pest control companies make money from people by “terminating” cockroach infestations (maybe nuclear weapons need to include the same stuff that pest control companies use). You could also draw parallels to Vladimir Putin and cockroaches (is he so blasè about a nuclear war because he’s a cockroach in disguise? If so, all nuclear powers need to ensure that the cockroach killing stuff is definitely included in all warheads. And perhaps Donald Trump, that great lover of all things Russian (possibly because his antecedents are from Bavaria, who knows), is also of the cockroach genus).

Good luck with it, I look forward to seeing you win the gold and also the Nobel Prize (for chemistry).

😂😂
