Harry and Meghan - Fairytale or not?!

After watching the Netflix series - I’m just in awe at how perfect their relationship is. How in awe he is of his wife, and how strong they are as a couple.

Does love like that really exist?!

I wish them well.

HornyHandedSonOfTroll · 23/12/2022 20:16

I thought my love with and for my ex husband was the greatest love known in the history of the universe. We are divorced.

pompomdaisy · 23/12/2022 20:16

She over dramatises everything. She's attention seeking. He's attention shunning. It's a recipe for disaster!

torquewench · 23/12/2022 20:17

Has anyone ever mentioned that Tyler Perry, the billionaire who loaned them his house before ever meeting them because he saw MMs dad being mean about her in the Mail, is a business partner of Oprah Winfrey?

Plumbear2 · 23/12/2022 19:25

Apparently they split up months ago.

Do you have a source? I think we would know from reputable sources by now - it would be headline news even the BBC would make it headline . Some of the UK media and MNs are eagerly waiting for this. So I can't see why they wouldn't publish it.

Bananarama21 · 23/12/2022 20:23

I don't think they will be still married 10 years down the line. If they were truelly happy tbey wouldn't have sold their story to the highest bidder and lived their lives in private like they wanted, they thrive on drama particularly meghan. Its interesting how she has not relationship with her family albeit with her mother who at one point didn't raise her as she was in jail and had a previous failed married she seems to be the common denominator here.

PeaceJoySleep · 23/12/2022 20:25

'the splitting up rumour came from them having a lawyer ring fence their own assets. Apparently this makes good sense if one of them is sued. Only the portion of the money owned by the one being sued is at risk. i read several lawyers explain it.

Their marriage reminds me of my mum and my Dad's. They've been married about 54 years. my mum has to be right. She is quite defensive. Fairly popular but she doesn't ''go deep''' if you like. She gets angry if you try to get to know her to be honest. She has to be right, and always is right. But she can be very charming and generous. My dad who lost his mum at 7 is not confident that he's a strong person on his own. He is strong when he aligns with her. It works for them. They believe they have a great marriage and I used to buy in to that too. About five years ago I looked at them and finally saw the dysfunction.

hoipolloih · 23/12/2022 20:31

Ah, so there really are people that gullible.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 23/12/2022 20:36

I’ve watched the entire Netflix recent series on them.

It almost comes across as too perfect to be true. They rarely say “oh he/she pisses me off/we have arguments/this irritates me about him/her” it’s all “he/she is perfect” “how badly she’s/he’s been treated, eg in both cases like Diana, how the Firm are horrid to them” etc etc. Even the cartoon Harry showed the camera of Meghan treating him like a dog was shot down.

I do think they’ve got a good relationship, that when they both met they knew what they wanted in life and for their futures and have a lot in common. Meghan’s also learned a lot from having a failed marriage and both of them the same from coming from broken homes.

Whether this means they’ll last the distance or are as in love as they say they are, I don’t know.

I’m torn, there have been lies from them and their relationship on Netflix sometimes looks a bit staged and not genuine but then again there are flashes where it looks totally genuine.

I hope for Harry’s sake that he’s not rushed blindly into a relationship which is a lot like a mother/son one and that Meghan treats him nicely and doesn’t treat him badly. I really do think Harry hasn’t been given much therapy or understanding over his mother dying and this has really affected him in his life.

ClarathecrosseyedLioness · 23/12/2022 20:38

I really have my doubts about this pair.
The way she's always looking adoringly at him and clinging onto him is just nauseating.
Let's not forget she's an actress eh?
I'll be curious to see how long she sticks around after the money runs out.
People will get fed up of reading/viewing recycled whinging.
They are talentless professional victims.

Come now, Preparationx3, we live in a parallel universe where no-one in the entire world is publishing anything about Prince William’s numerous affairs, despite absolutely everyone knowing about them. You can’t bring logic to an innuendo fight! 🤣🤣

PreparationPreparationPrep · 23/12/2022 20:48

@Serenster. Whether it's 1 or 3 affairs - I can see that the press would think twice about publishing anything against W&K. But as we've seen M&H are fair game so I don't think the media would hold back on this. As M took the DF to court successfully I'm sure they are waiting for revenge day. I imagine they could pay off their mortgages with news like this. So in a nutshell if it were true the rags would make sure it was headline news purely because it is M&H.

bakalava · 23/12/2022 20:57

It seems ok. I don't think it will last into old age but will still go on for a fair amount of time. She comes across as someone who has put in a lot of thought and therapy into perfecting the various aspects of the girlfriend/wife role through many relationships. As a result, she knows how to get exactly what she wants really fast and keep him hungriest for her attention and praise above all others. She has also trained a number of dogs in her time. Those skills are transferable.
He will eventually crack because he has substituted one contrived setup for another and the stress is starting to become apparent. He is still more genuinely invested than she ever was in their 'fairytale'. They aren't heading for a breakup as soon as many think.
However, I am certain that this wont be the greatest love of their lives for either of them or that they will necessarily find better.

bakalava · 23/12/2022 21:00

I like them both individually but together, they have produced a destructive energy and a lot of paranoia. I believe that they both want to make it work and will try to do it through endless therapy but true love is a lot easier than that. It almost carries you through effortlessly most of the time.

Crazyinlove123 · 23/12/2022 21:01

I don’t care if they are in love or not, nor do I care if they split up. If they are happy together then great. But, I would say for a couple so in love they don’t half like to spend their lives moaning and milking their misery.

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 23/12/2022 21:09

I loved it when they were talking about the Easter egg hunt he said " this is why I'm.married" and she says very dry " just that?"

😂😂 It's wonderful

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 23/12/2022 21:12

@bakalava 😂😂😂.

She's trained dog's and those skills are transferable 😂

MechanicaHound · 23/12/2022 21:21

They seem very unhappy to me, hyper sensitive, obsessed with their image and the media, paranoid and obsessing over every single tweet that's ever been put out about them. Who can live like that?

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 23/12/2022 21:23

My very wise gran used to say. 'Them as are in love, don't need to go shouting it int' street' I believe that far more than I believe H&M who have been proven by the Archbishop of Canterbury no less, to be liars. I'm Jewish btw, so I am not swayed by churchiness but he is still fairly high profile in the country

Bulbstarglitterball · 23/12/2022 21:26

Just finished episode 6 and I think they seem very in love and happy and relaxed around each other.

IcedPurple · 23/12/2022 21:27

Personally, I never believe it's true love unless a couple hoist their arses onto the kitchen cabinetry and pretend to snog for the benefit of the cameras they invited.

As an aside, I hope they disinfected those surfaces before Eugenie moved into Frog Manor.

Bulbstarglitterball · 23/12/2022 21:27

Although would in no way describe it as a fairytale, some of what they've been through seems hellish,

StarbucksSmarterSister · 23/12/2022 21:31

Bananarama21

There isn't a shred of evidence that that ridiculous rumour is true and Doria also qualified as a social worker in later life which makes it unlikely.

ClarathecrosseyedLioness · 23/12/2022 21:31

@IcedPurple As an aside, I hope they disinfected those surfaces before Eugenie moved into Frog Manor.

Yuch...

Yes, there are two sets of B&W photos of them kissing while sitting on the work surfaces, from different occasions.
I disapprove! (However they seem happy with each other so I hope it lasts)
