Daily Mail thinks it has evidence. Let's discuss.

I think it was semi-mourning

Either that, or Angela Kelly is no longer starting the phone cascade on that day's colour-scheme

pinneddownbytabbies · 21/12/2022 13:55

How about burgundy being a lovely winter colour, they all like it and some of them happened to have coats in that shade?

In any case, who gives a flying toss what that despicable excuse for a newspaper wants to make of it.

They are obsessed with Meghan. The coordinated burgundy outfits scream “clique”.

Also, it’s telling that both Beatrice and Eugenie aren’t indulging Kate and joining in their mean girl reindeer games. Good for them!

They are obsessed with Meghan?

Just remind us who did the TV interview, the six hours of Netflix and the books?

Carole isn't a senior royal.

Neither is Pippa but she's been included in the burgundy cabal. So what we're saying is 2 senior royals and a small child wore burgundy coats. And that's proof of mean girl behaviour. All rights.

Prince Philip's memorial service

Yes, which shows they probably coordinated there – making it likely they coordinated at Kate’s do, too. The only question with Kate’s event is whether it was in riposte to Meghan or not. If not, you’d think someone would have pointed out the optics and that it would make negative headlines.

TheMightyOak · 21/12/2022 13:59

At first I thought oh good for them, they’re proving that Meghan is lying. BUT the fact this is so unusual as to be noticeable surely means Meghan wasn’t lying? Hmm 🤔

But they didn't co-ordinate did they - 2 royal ladies wore burgundy coats, a little girl who often dresses in similar colours to her Mum when they're appearing formally ( and when they're not - see this year's Christmas card) wore a coat like her Mum's, and that's it. Very much nothing to see hear but way to go to the Daily Mailfor whipping into another Kate v Meghan drama.

It seems intentional.

Meghan is a liar as she did wear colours before Meghsit (whatever the term was!) - a green dress off the top of my head. It’s like she thinks people are stupid and don’t notice what she wore (it was on most newspapers daily too).

She wore a lot of cream, beige grey and neutral colours before they announced they were living. Predominantly

And Camilla’s brooch, and Wills’s tie, and Pippa’s coat (she’s not royal but what’s she most famous for? Being Kate’s sister, and is clearly going to get photographed), and I’m not going on the Mail site to deep dive into the event photos to see who/what else.

FavouriteTie · 21/12/2022 14:04

They looked ridiculous. Like a work experience stylist got to have a go at ‘bringing the outfits together’. When I saw photos of the men with burgundy ties and women with burgundy coats, it triggered memories of the band Steps in the late 90s and their terrible mix and match colour co ordinated outfits. Tragedy 🎶

What was King Charles wearing? Was he in a burgundy suit?

She wears a lot of cream and beige/camel and black and white anyway. The oversized white shirt is something she wears often, a bit of a signature. She obviously suits these colours and wears them a lot anyway - the NF doc has her wearing white shirt and cream/beige trousers on the sofa.

Burgundy Y-fronts, according to palace sources.

I loved Meghan's green outfit. I thought it was gorgeous.

Burgundy is a nice Christmas color, very common in coats this time of year. Bit strange to think it must be a message rather than, "Hey, it's Christmas, I'll wear a red coat!" And not everyone wore Burgundy. That said, I thought it was odd that Meghan felt she could only wear camel and other muted colors, as everyone else seems able to color coordinate when necessary. On some days, they all wear pastels, other times jewel tones. Everyone wearing the exact same color is a bit matchy-matchy, I think it works better to mix it up a bit. It would make sense for the most senior and experienced Royals to pick the color scheme and everyone else coordinate appropriately. Tan or camel color is going to look odd if everyone else is in pastels, it would have the opposite effect of blending in. It's like the baptism where Meghan wore an olive color, remember that? It looks very odd in the group photos. Even so, Kate made some mistakes at the beginning, got some criticism over too-short skirts etc; I would expect the same grace to be given to Meghan.

Malariahilaria · 21/12/2022 14:20

Meghan is evil. Meghan is vile. Let's all hate meghan at a cellular level and dream of the day she is stripped naked and pelted with faeces. She's worse than Rosemary west that one.

The vitriol towards this mildly annoying woman is staggering.

vera99 · 21/12/2022 14:24

I wonder why there are not tons of headlines about the Cambridge's arriving separately?

Meghan is never given the same grace as Kate:

diddl · 21/12/2022 14:26

Surely both things can be true though-that they co ordinate at times & that generally you didn't wear the same colour as HM/senior Royals?

I would have thought that it depends on the event & who is the "focus" of it?

Ocrumbs · 21/12/2022 14:27

She didn't say she shouldn't wear colours just that she understood it was best to try and blend into the background a bit. Seems fair enough.

But haters gonna hate.

PeekAtYou · 21/12/2022 14:27

Not a fan of M but I completely believe that she was asked to be mindful of what colours more senior royals were wearing. However I think some of her muted colour choices were her choice since she suits white, beige etc very well.

KnickerlessParsons · 21/12/2022 14:28

There was no version of me joining this family and me not doing everything I could to fit in. I don’t want to embarrass the family.”

Yeah, right! that didn't last long, did it. 🙍

Could it perhaps be because Kate had been at the abbey for hours watching rehearsals because the service is a project of hers. Or are you insinuating the Cambridge's are not together? Surely not.

saffronrabbit · 21/12/2022 14:31

The outfits for the concert would've been planned long before the Netflix docu series was aired. It's ridiculous to assume Kate has the time or energy to be so petty. I think this was such a silly news article.
