Daily Mail thinks it has evidence. Let's discuss.

Catherine and Charlotte often colour coordinate so Charlotte should be removed from the discussion.

I heard it was Charlotte's idea.

garlicandsapphires · 21/12/2022 12:58

If it was deliberate, then it's absolutely pathetic.

However as a PP said the doc was only released that day, so unlikely to be a coordinated response.

I can image Kate putting a memo out about colour scheme, she does after all dress her family in the coordinating tones.

In conclusion I think it may have been planned, but not for any nefarious reason.

I don't think so as the Wales often wear clothes that match or tone in with one another. Not always but I had noted before that eg they've all worn a shade of blue

Oh cmon, you don’t believe that, Zara, Kate, Pippa, Charlotte all turned up in matching burgundy coats by coincidence, with all the men wearing rhe same colour ties. The chances of that are millions to one.

and then Sophie and camilla matched and camilla wore a burgundy brooch.

right after Meghan said she wasn’t allowed to wear the same colour as the queen or senior royals so had to dress in muted shades?

there is no way it’s a coincidence. It was a subtle, voiceless, statement proving a lie and Meghan and harry would have known it immediately on seeing the images.

to be honest, I’m quite impressed, the palace is quietly disproving everything they said, slowly but surely, without the royal family uttering a word personally. They Really are masters at this shit. Prob why harry was much loved before hand, as they manipulated what the public saw.

Picoloangel · 21/12/2022 13:00

@tatalan I haven’t watched the documentary - I’m bored of the whole saga to be honest. I read though that Meghan has said something about royals not being allowed to dress in the same colours as senior royals and believe it may be a nod to that. Could all just be coincidence.

The Daily Mail put Charlotte on the front page too.

What about Beatrice and Eugenie, were they not included?

Meghan explained about the camel/beige tones and not wearing the same colour as senior royals in the episodes from 8 December – the rainbow tour was referenced in the episodes on 15 December, the day of Kate’s singalong. So they had plenty of time to pull it together after the first episodes dropped.

@Picoloangel Meghan's exact words if that helps.

“To my understanding, you could never wear the same color as Her Majesty, if there’s a group event, but then you also shouldn’t be wearing the same color as one of the other more senior members of the family.”

“So I was like, ‘Well, what’s a color that they’ll probably never wear?’ Camel, beige, white. So I wore a lot of muted tones, but it was also so I could just blend in. I’m not trying to stand out here. There was no version of me joining this family and me not doing everything I could to fit in. I don’t want to embarrass the family.”

The idea that Meghan wouldn’t want to stand out is one if the funniest things I have read in a long time 😂

How does it prove a lie when they did this after she said she chose not to wear colours? She could say “as a royal I wasn’t allowed to do X” and the family can instantly do X – it doesn’t prove the lie, it proves a response after the fact. A picture of an event taken before Meghan’s statement, showing colour coordination at the same level of the burgundy event, would prove a lie. All this proves is that they’re petty.

In any case she doesn’t say she wasn’t allowed: she said “it was my understanding that” and additionally suggests that she didn’t want to stand out or upstage; she wanted to blend in – which camel and beige let her do.

Andrew's family and Harry are very close. If there are two 'camps' in the royal family then the Yorks are firmly in the Sussex camp. More Eugenie than Beatrice, but generally all of them.

So you think Kate left the York girls out of the burgundy co-ordination on purpose? 🤔

If they did orchestrate it then it's a bit pointless seeings as the Queen wasn't there. If she were still alive and had elected to wear burgundy you can bet your life they wouldn't have all been in burgundy too

Bluekerfuffle · 21/12/2022 13:07

I’m sure they weren’t left to guess what colours everyone else was wearing if they weren’t supposed to wear the same colour, as Meghan is implying.

Wouldn’t be the first time Kate “forgot” to give Beatrice the dress code! (Allegedly, scurrilous gossip and all that, something about an 80s roller disco.)

I suspect the Yorks said "no thanks" to the burgundy co-ords, rather than being deliberately left out. It was petty and childish and I suspect they are very aware of how their mother was treated by the press and probably have sympathy for Meghan's situation.

I think it could be a coincidence. Or else planned but nothing to do with Meghan. It's a Christmassy colour isn't it.

At my wedding it looked like I'd been a bridezilla and asked all my guests to wear blue - I hadn't, it just turned out that way.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 21/12/2022 13:16

I don't really read these threads much so I'm not as into it as some of you but... if Meghan said that "... you also shouldn’t be wearing the same color as one of the other more senior members of the family.”

How exactly is that a stretch? I mean, she wasn't one of the family, was she? Confused

I saw the group photo and same coloured/co-ordinated clothes and thought of it as just the same as a million mothers do all the time - colour co-ordinate their family for photos.

I also agree with garlicandsapphires that if it were a co-ordinated thing then it is indeed pathetic. What's the point if nobody 'gets it', only those who live to find these curious snubs and post about them?

I don't find the Royal Family 'classy'. Now that the Queen has died they are not really anything much other than a source of gossip.

Quveas · 21/12/2022 13:16

OhhhhhhhhBiscuits · 21/12/2022 12:45

Meghan said you couldn't wear the same colour as a senior royal when on engagements. The talk is at the concert they all wore the same colour to prove her wrong.

Gosh is it? So on top of an anachronistic waste of space and money, the royal family are also really petty. That comes as a huge surprise.

Wow, you have completely turned that around to make it seem as though K deliberately excluded them. I didn't even mention K and I'm trying to see how you got to that conclusion. I would think it more likely that if they had been invited to join in with an 'up yours' to H & M, that the Yorks declined.
