I agree . Wonder why no one else picked this up in the 2/3 years since it was made ?

In my previous research, am article said that the interviews were done and made into books and that the documentary wad always slated to be released in 2022.

Obviously, we have no idea if the schedule was always going to be this way or if it was changed because of COVID, etc.

onlylarkin · 28/12/2022 22:34

Ugh. Stupid fat fingers. Sorry about the typos.

It was originally supposed to be early 2022, and apparently H&M got involved in may? So not sure what happened, and why it wasn’t released early in the year as planned.

onlylarkin · 28/12/2022 22:56

Could be a million and 1 different reasons. I am sure we will never know.

MarshaMelrose · 28/12/2022 23:03

According to Jacinda Ardern it was the Mandela Foundation that got a deal with Netflix to broadcast the series. In March 2021. But it would seem that HAM didn't come on board til early 2022. So if the Mandela Foundation didn't need HAM to make the deal, I wonder why they became exec producers. And why the series sat around for more than a year without being broadcast or moved forward.

In March 2021 the Nelson Mandela Foundation advised the prime minister’s office they had secured an agreement with Netflix to broadcast the series of interviews, including the 2019 interview with the prime minister

In May this year the prime minister’s office was notified that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would introduce the series; noting this was nearly two and a half years after the interview had been recorded and permission for its use by the Mandela Foundation had already been provided.

After the Camilla/Clarkson/Morgan disgusting pile-on globally a lot of folks are coming over to Team Sussex the real underdogs in all this drama and at least they are doing stuff , paying their own way , baby steps and all that whereas the Doolittles Wales' play dressing up colour games and such like. If I was to be marroned on a desert islandf I know who would rather be with !

MarshaMelrose · 29/12/2022 00:09

Awww, and if HAM were marooned on a desert isle, I know who I'd like to be on it permanently with them. 😉

vera99 · 29/12/2022 00:26

Tough I'm here on Republican duty minding the shop ! 😉I reckon Harry would be better at bushcraft and shelter building and hunting than William and Meghan could probably skin a a rabbit. Not sure what Kate would be good at though ....

Miss03852 · 29/12/2022 00:32

They should interview the poor staff MeGain bullied out of a job

Roussette · 28/12/2022 19:24

What's all this 'inserting themselves'?!
It's not like Netflix have allowed them to insert themselves.
They were consulted and offered a role. How some of you must hate that and have to think of every which way to tear them down for financing themselves.
Get used to it! There'll be more

Harry and Wife paid to get their names on this finished docu. That's it

Ohnonevermind · 29/12/2022 00:57

@vera99

I’d rather fear with MM and PH it might be a constant stream of self congratulatory embellished anecdotes but each to their own 😀

vera99 · 29/12/2022 01:02

When divying up island team tasks Kate would be going on about getting the job of opening the mud hut whilst he rest of them, including William saying it doesn't need opening it needs bloody building.....

Ohnonevermind · 29/12/2022 01:10

@vera99

Meghan would first tell us about the mud huts she built in Africa with Elton John and David Furnish (her second mothers) She would have rang zaha Hadid and showed her her mud hut design and zaha would have told her that it was better than anything zaha could have done and then all the villagers would have danced on the streets because Meghan is amazing.

Then she would buy the mud huts made by other villages and do some calligraphy designs and say she had built them herself

😁😁 Yes, definitely Harry should work with his hands. Using his brain is not his strongest suit. William on the other hand would be executing our escape. I don't know what Kate would do but she'd be very lovely and elegant doing it. 😂

Jeremy Clarkson or the Grim Reaper?
No sure which you'd choose

Roselilly36 · 29/12/2022 06:32

I wouldn’t be interested in watching, only watched 3 of their story. But good luck to them, if people are wanting to watch more they will get more series, if not NF will drop them like a hot brick. Personally I think people will get bored but time will tell.

Gosh, the production co and Blackwell and NF had nothing to do with it?
They really are doing well with so much influence. More than I imagined. Well done them.

LBFseBrom · 29/12/2022 06:39

It's not quite the same sort of thing as the recent documentary series, far less interesting by the sound of it, not much in the way of historical footage or characters. I could be wrong, hope I am, and will give it a whirl.

By the by, the word, 'narcissist', is too often and too casually used. I look forward to it being replaced.

The media is an arse.

vera99 · 29/12/2022 06:41

They are aligning themselves with a worthy project that should hopefully get these inspiring messages of leadership and hope to a wider audience. A rising tide lifts all ships after all.

Lampzade · 29/12/2022 06:47

I am fascinated by the fact that many of
Harry and Meghan’s detractors are obsessed with finding everything about them. All this attention on an ‘irrelevant’
couple. Really strange and suggests that they are a threat to some.
I only find out about what the Sussexes are up to by reading threads ( mainly anti Meghan)

We barely here anything about William and Kate ( the future King and his Queen consort ) and their work.

Lampzade · 29/12/2022 06:48

Hear

vera99 · 29/12/2022 06:58

That's because they have been nicknamed the Doolittles for reason and Kate burned through 180ks worth of clothes last year in her role as a fashion ambassador.
