Well well, reviews are in and now its time to blame some one else.

Speaking on her podcast hours after the release of the final three episodes on Netflix, Schofield said: “From what I’m being told, the Sussexes are a bit disappointed with the final product.”
“The Sussexes feel like the docuseries leans too much into the drama and victimhood — more than they had anticipated… Today, Meghan wants to be seen as a thought leader and a changemaker, and they want to put the past behind them,” she added.
The podcast hose also added that Meghan ‘recognizes that the public wants to move on’ from their royal drama as well.
Schofield further shared that the Sussexes’ displeasure arises from the fact that they did not have much creative control over the project.
“Ultimately, the final project is not necessarily a love letter to their causes, and it is not the vehicle that they were looking for to set the record straight,” Schofield said.

I thought you meant Philip Schofield there and have never heard of Kinsey Schofield - is she some sort of friend of H&M's or just someone else after a bit of attention?

As usual I'll take proper notice if something comes from the couple themselves and not unless

Haha I thought it was him as well 😁

treadcarefully · 16/12/2022 14:42

For one minute I wondered what's happened at H&M shops then. How silly of meGrin

PeekAtYou · 16/12/2022 14:43

I hope that last paragraph isn't code for needing to do another series.

Not a fan of the couple but totally agree with "the public wants to move on’ from their royal drama as well." If they had got stuck into their US projects without the drip drip of the RF past then everybody would be in a different place imo.

I am surprised at her being disappointed with the emphasis on victimhood as that is how they portrayed in the media but I understand why NF wanted drama - the Mail alone could probably do stand-alone issues on the series for weeks.

Bigdamnheroes · 16/12/2022 14:45

I was agreeing with you! But if you'd rather be bitchy and superior, crack on love.

The best way to influence thoughts and effect change in an institution is from a position on the inside, surely?

If that is truly what she wanted to do, then she's probably blown it by now.

They’ve obviously not heard of the saying Keep your friends close and your enemies closer’. She probably could have become a mega star and shone very brightly within the RF if she’d understood the hand she was playing. She folded too soon.

So they haven't gained the sympathy they'd hoped for, so now they'll backtrack and blame Netflix.

I wish the pair of them would fuck off to the Bermuda Triangle never to be seen or heard again!

Can’t say it better than this, my thoughts exactly.

Hagrod · 16/12/2022 15:13

Well, nothing is ever good enough for them is it? So of course they wouldn't like their own series that they produced.

Also, what's a thought leader? 😳

squishee · 16/12/2022 15:21

"podcast hose"?

randomusername666 · 16/12/2022 15:43

jesus, didn't they have a lawyer look over the netflix contract before signing it ?????

I wouldn't automatically believe her either, but at least it would be coming straight from the horse's mouth so to speak

Really? They have had 80 million of our Netflix subs so I think as we have paid for the show, we can talk about it as much as we want.

I know editing can skew the tone of a programme but this was a series made up of their home footage, their interviews and input from their friends and ‘team’. If it wasn’t what they wanted perhaps H&M can take the $100m and go and quietly do some good with it. Won’t hold my breath. I can’t imagine the breathtaking arrogance that would be involved in thinking Netflix wanted a significant deal with them on the basis of anything other than dirt and gossip on the royal family. What did they think their series was going to be about?

Of course Netflix wanted dirt and scandal.
They didn't really want a pair of over~ indulged, entitled eedjits wittering on about how hard done by they are, surely?

milveycrohn · 16/12/2022 16:54

We've still got the book to come in January, which presumably about Harry's life will be another dig at the RF, and how much a victim he is.
I imagine he will have added extra details, as surely by now, with the Oprah Interview, The Spotify, Netflix, is there anything left to tell?

bakalava · 16/12/2022 16:56

I think the final book edit will be informed by the reception to the Netflix. There are probably a couple of versions ready. if they feel that they did not go far enough to garner sympathy then they will go for the nastier version. It is potentially their last opportunity to preach to a captive audience.

Surely it's gone to print by now? They'll never get it into the shops for 10th Jan otherwise, not with the Christmas break coming up.

sitandwait · 16/12/2022 17:04

Something gives me the feeling that the ideal vehicle for them 'setting the record straight' will never come. They'll just 'have' to keep speaking out.

NewStartIn50s · 16/12/2022 17:07

'thought leader' wtaf.... she leads a puppy called Harry around and that's about it.

It screams victim all over it. They are so wrapped up in being victims and blaming others

musingsinmidlife · 16/12/2022 17:14

Now they are also victims of Netflix....

Next Harry will be a victim of his own words in his book....

How many layers of victimhood can one wear?

Minimalme · 16/12/2022 17:17

I spent 20 in PR and most people believed they could tell the media what to say and control the message.

Ultimately, Harry and Megan will have had lots of meetings about creating a positive, well-received message.

While the Netflix producers were salivating over every word and gesture achieving no the opposite.

People don't want to watch a piece of self promoting puff.

They were paid handsomely and probably promised the earth. It was always going to end this way.

Glassofwhatever · 16/12/2022 17:28

Thought leader.....
